You'll be thrilled with a Ribeye, Brat or a pound of Ground Beef. Their chicken will even win you over and you'll be talk of the town. Everyone will be talking about your meat. Now, I want to tell you about their hot prepared foods counter. If you are lazy and don't want to cook, come and select from the variety of meats and side dishes. I've enjoyed; Pork Steak, Chicken Breast, Meat Loaf, Ribs and Hamburger. My sides have been, Mac-n-Cheese, Greet Beans, Scalloped Potatoes and Baked Beans. None have been disappointing, except for the cheese on the burger. I was just a cold slice of American Cheese placed on top. I did a little zap in the microwave to get it to melt a little when I got it home. The service is friendly and attentive. The reason they lose a star from me is one employee, is not so friendly. She's middle-aged and has the personality of a wet rag. I cringe when she is the one assisting me at the counter. When assisted by other employees it is an entire different experience. I will return and hope that I do not get the negative lady and hopefully be able to raise them back up to 5 Stars.

The farmers offer fresh vegetables and some even have refrigerated trucks offering a variety of meats. Vendors that offer freshly made breads, pastries, jams and jellies, can almost be classified in either group. Those who are true artisans, are offering handmade jewelry, candles, cutting boards, canes, dog fashions, clothes for children and original pieces of art. That's just a sampling of what you can find walking up and down all the aisles. When I first started coming to this market it was only one of the parking lots. It has now expanded to another one and the variety of merchandise is mind blowing. It is well worth a visit. When you arrive, stop and get a coffee at Joe's and then start your stroll to shop local.

In addition to the bartenders, Tony's has an extra staff person behind the bar that takes care of food orders and keeps the bar glasses clean, too. That's good team work. The bartenders are masterful in their skills. I'm a classic cocktail drinker, so I usually enjoy a Martini, Manhattan or a Old Fashioned. I've also been know to order a Boulevardier and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I have the Cab when I enjoy their Tuesday Night steak special. When I'm not super hungry and want a light meal, I do a house salad with Grilled Shrimp or a Shrimp Cocktail, or even a order of Oysters Rockefeller. I've even done the Wedge Salad with a side of Grilled Shrimp. Whatever I choose, I'm a satisfied diner. Small details that I like and make my dining experience complete are; Linen Napkins, Hooks Under the Bar, Eco-Friendly To-Go Vessels and a dog friendly patio. They just make me smile. In addition to the outstanding bartenders, the servers and hostesses are friendly, too. They provide upscale service in a casual dining atmosphere. If you give Tony's a try, check the bar out and see if I'm sitting on one of the stools. I'd love to meet you.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary here. Even though it was across…read morethe river, it was very close to home for us. The restaurant was very nice. The hostess was very friendly in greeting us. We had reservations and were seated right away. As we were looking at the various menus, our waiter, Chad, approached our table singing Anniversary by Tony! Toni! Toné! It was surprising but we got a kick out of it. He was a great waiter and was very knowledgeable about the menu and his suggestions were on point. Chad gave so much attention to all of his tables and went out of his way to make it a great experience for everyone. For drinks, my husband ordered the Old Fashioned and I ordered the New York Sour. I'm a big fan of New York Sours and that was probably the best one I've ever had. Upon Chad's suggestion, we ordered the Royal Red Shrimp appetizer. It was delicious, especially soaking the bread in the amazing butter sauce. We both chose the house salad with their house dressing, which was really good. For entrées, my husband ordered the surf and turf (he chose the ribeye) and I ordered the Jumbo Sea Scallops with Lobster Risotto. He says his ribeye was cooked to perfection with a really nice butter sauce. The shrimp were really good but the scallops and Risotto were just ok. Overall, he felt it was a good dish. I have to agree about the scallops. They could have been seared better and on both sides. The Lobster Risotto was just ok. I probably would have appreciated it more if it actually had lobster in it. It took a little longer for us to get our entrees, and they were not as hot as I would have liked. We also were there during happy hour, which is daily. We ordered a bottle of wine for a great price. Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to trying new things in the future.

However, keep in mind that everything is freshly made. I've watched them and they do not dawdle. They are moving those sandwiches down the assembly line very smoothly. I wonder if adding another person would expedite the production. So, if you're in a hurry, I recommend using their app to place your order before you arrive. I've created my own sandwich in the past, but today I went with their, New York Steamer. Yum-Yum. It's a hot deli-style sub with corned beef brisket and pastrami (my favorite deli meat), melted provolone cheese, deli mustard, mayo and Italian dressing. All that goodness is pressed between a toasted sub roll (I choose, wheat). I live about a mile and a half from the Firehouse and when I got home, it was still toasty warm. The pairing of beef brisket and pastrami was a winning combination. I pretty confident, I'll be ordering this one again. I've never made a combo, but I like that they have Miss Vicki's as a choice of chips. They also, have the typical Lay's potato chips, too. If you donate $4 you can get yourself an empty pickle bucket. The donation goes to support first responders and safety organizations. Mine comes in handy when doing yard work. Also, be sure to sign up for the rewards program. You can accumulate points towards free food. We all like free. Speaking of free, Firehouse Subs will treat you to a free medium sandwich on your birthday. Isn't that nice. When: February 3, 2026 Why: Lunch Hunger Pains.

I understand the need to rearrange merchandise, but it still pisses me off. Today when I went into my Schnucks, they had flipped the organization of their shopping carts. The smaller two basket carts use to be on the right side of the corral, as you entered the store. Now they are on the left side, on the far side of the lobby. I understand the change, they want you to take a larger cart in hopes that you purchase more items. Sorry, not happening. I like my small cart. When I entered the store, I was entering with other seniors and we all were taken back of the cart reorganization. We all figured it out and stepped to the left to get the two tier carts. To be honest, I still miss the red hand baskets. For me they were the perfect size for a single person. Some of my favorite departments are the salad bar, seafood, deli and bakery. I like the salad bar because, I can make a delicious salad and take it home. Being single, buying all the ingredients for a salad is not cost effective. So much of it goes to waste. The same is true for the bakery. When I want something sweet, I can buy a single serving instead of baking an entire cake or pie. The seafood and deli are great places for me to grab lunch items when I am working my part-time job. In front of the prepared foods they have already packaged like; Chicken Salad, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad and other prepared side dishes. The seafood department has similar offerings. This Godfrey Schnucks is my hometown grocery store and it's close to my home. I'm easily here 3 times a week, so I'm a familiar face to most cashiers and some floor clerks. Since I usually buy 10 or fewer items, I'm a frequent user of Self Check-Out. When I have items that need to be weighed or I did some serious shopping and bought 11+ items I go through the cashier line. Self or cashier check-out, the staff is always friendly.
