Savers in Rancho Cucamonga is a mixed bag, but not a bad one. They actually had some interesting items, especially in the book section. I recognized several titles and was pleasantly surprised by the variety. They also had a good selection of board games, which is not something I always expect to find at a thrift store and made browsing more fun. That said, some of the pricing felt high for a thrift store. A few items made me pause and look things up online to see if I was actually saving any money. It feels like you really need to price check as you shop to make sure you are getting a deal. Even with that, I would still take Savers over Goodwill any day. The selection felt better overall, and there were enough interesting finds to justify the visit. Not amazing, not terrible. We had some time before our dental appointments in the same shopping center and my oldest saw the big Savers Thrift signage on the building and really wanted to check the place out. I really like how they have the donation center close to the entrance and easily identifiable. They have big tubs with wheels to easily unload your items from your car and bring to the center. Will definitely plan on donating here soon. The place is HUGE! It's also very spacious and well organized. Items are separated by type and size. There's also a lot more than just clothes here! It's a thrifter's dream! We didn't buy anything this time, but we did notice you have to kind of know what you're looking for and shop for a bargain, because some of the prices are definitely not typical for a thrift store. They just opened and they had a huge amount of items. I went for the first time today and mostly checked out the household item section. Everything was in order and sectioned great! I found a milk frother for $5 and a small heater for another $5. Great deals! I'm excited to come back and visit the other sections in the store. Today is grand opening day. I've been waiting for this location to open for months. I never been to a savers so I'm not sure how it's ran. But items had color coded tags (blue, green, yellow, red). The store was organized well and was clean. There was plenty of staff working wearing red vest and they were nice. Prices for clothes and bags seemed pretty high. But then there were items that were priced reasonably. I didn't purchase any clothing due to higher prices and no color coded sale yet. I did purchase 5 books. Books are priced reasonably. Any where from $1.50-$5 in average. They have a deal, buy 4 books and the cheapest book is free. I got 5 books for about $5 each. There is a loyalty program you can sign up to at the register. All registers look to be self checkout using cash or card. There are plenty of shopping carts and baskets. I will be back again to hopefully score some good clothing pieces next time read more

There's a certain employee at self checkout who gives off the most terrible energy. Instead of helping he actually makes the checkout experience really uncomfortable by standing behind you and your toddlers back to make sure you don't steal used clothing. He will then weasel himself between you and your toddler without asking, to manually add paper bags to your purchase because he assumes you will also steal the paper bags. He does all of this without saying a word or wishing you a good day on the way out. Savers, please stop employing people who aren't happy to be at work. read more

Don't come here if you want good customer service. The staffs are incompetent, unhelpful, heartless! I have an 80's party to attend and I was excited to find the new thrift store that just open up in the neighborhood. I was like ... yesss a place to find old treasure while donating my unwanted goods. I was surprised how big, clean, and organized it was. I found a few 80's items, but more items I could add to my wardrobe. My cart was full after spending like an hour there. Eventually I needed to release myself from all my liquid intake. So I rushed over to find a restroom and realized the door was locked and needed a code to access. The sign says "Please see any team member for access." So I rushed to the front to ask a staff (who supposedly is the manager name Alley) for help, but she brushed me off and rudely said she can't. She didn't give me any explanation... so I asked again how can I get access to the restroom. She said she can't step away from her area. Like not helpful at all. So I asked if she could ask someone else to help me and she just says no. I was so confused with her short answers. So I went looking for another staff who was literally 5 steps from the restroom. Her name is Kendalyn ... and she was at the area waiting for donations, which is next to the restroom. She's standing there with not a thing to do. Just standing there waiting for donations, but the place was dead... no one donating in sight. I asked her for help, and she also stated that she can't open the restroom or give me the code because she has to stay in her area. So I asked if there was anyone else that can help me because I am just a honest customer who needs to use the restroom... just to pee. She's like " I understand you need to use the restroom, but I need to do my job." Wow. She said it's just her and the manager so nothing they could do. I told her I have a cartload of items and I really want to make the purchases, but need to use the restroom really bad. I would go elsewhere to the next business or shop outside in the same plaza, but this plaza is dead... nothing else at that plaza. She insisted there is nothing she or anyone can do. I am like, "Is the restroom not for customers because the sign makes it seem like it is. If it's not, then I understand... then place a sign that it is out of service or not for customer use", but the sign says clearly to "see a team member for access". It really seems like they are just intentionally being unhelpful and heartless. I practically begged her and with no budge, she walked away... In desperation I told her well... she's not exactly doing her job, which consist of customer service. I went back to ask Alley the manager again and try to reason with her... but she was just incapable of providing good customer service. She showed no care... just said... 'I can't' and walked away. I guess my whole frustration is that they both clearly could... but "won't". I don't want to right this place off and might one day return if the they have better staff members, but so far this place failed the community they tried to serve. It really is a For Profit Thrift Store, because their items were not cheap and their staffs are incompetent and heartless! While this store is actually huge with so many options in all departments, I was more than thrilled to shop. Employees were super nice, helpful and the cleanliness of the store made shopping so much easier. I bought some toys for my toddlers, clothes in the kids, women's and men's departments, as well as other essentials. I ended up finding a hair straightener in the housewares/bath accessories department and when I got home and plugged it in, I found out that it doesn't even work. It was only $4.99, so not that big of a deal, however, while they do also sale other bigger electronics and office equipment that are more expensive they may want to take the necessary steps to plug it in and turn it on to make sure it works before putting it out on the shelves where people spend money hoping that it works creating trust with the store customers. I did overall love the store but I will not be buying anything electronic there anymore. read more

We have been to plenty of thrift stores and this donation based thrift store has been by far the most ridiculous with the price tags! A hoodie for $100! Or an old stained purse for $40. I came into the store to shop because I wanted to use a donation coupon I had received. When I reached the register, the coupon would not scan and I was told it could not be used. The sales associate kindly offered to ask her manager if it could be overridden, but the manager on duty immediately said no. I had never used this coupon before, yet the manager's attitude made me feel as though I was being dishonest. I was embarrassed and uncomfortable by how the situation was handled. I was excited to have a Savers location open closer to me, as I usually shop at the Arcadia store, but this experience was extremely disappointing. The associate then asked if she could give me a replacement coupon she had, to which the manager responded, "If you have one, that's fine," but afterward told her, "Never do that again." The associate was only trying to be helpful and professional, while the manager showed little care or understanding. This incident occurred on 12/13 around 5:20 PM. The savings would have only been about $6, yet I was made to feel as though I was trying to steal or do something wrong over a 20% coupon. That treatment was unnecessary and upsetting. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as no customer should feel embarrassed or accused when simply trying to use a valid coupon. read more

I actually really liked this location! I'd only been to the savers over in Riverside. And I'm not a fan of that one. I see what people are saying about some prices being on the high side, but I really only go for home decor, and vintage home items. So I can't speak too much on the clothing. However, I will say that the clothing that I saw personally, I thought was pretty reasonably priced. I did see a lot of vintage sweaters for like $9, or $10 which I would totally pay for. I feel like now a day you pay for a bunch of plastic containing clothing, and you're paying easy $20 for That at a regular store. So, I'll gladly pay these prices. I'm really excited to go back and check out what they have then. I say if you were debating on making the drive, just go once for yourself and see! Finally asked someone and they said it's the color of the week not day, the color of the week is 50% off. I don't need to be reminded that my home is "Blessed." Boring. A cheap fun house mirror that made me look 20 pounds heavier? Horrifying! Trendy method of hanging pants sideways that thrifters hate? I heard an employee say it's so customers can find the size easily. Nope. Not true. Manufacturers put sizes All Over The Place, so twisting the pants just makes it more difficult to see the item. Annoying waste of my time and their space. Savers is a Well, Let's See What The Suckers Will Pay store. (Old, used hand towel for $5? I can get brand new Ralph Lauren at Marshalls for not much more!) Then whatever we won't buy at high prices will eventually get the Ticket Color of the Week discount.
