I like our local Savers, and for the most part, the employees are engaging and friendly. Either the prices are outrageous, or they are relatively fair, there's no in-between. The store has the typical 'thrift' feel: somewhat dirty, a little unorganized, slight smells throughout. I love when I can find a new plant pot or a funky knick-knack! My biggest complaint: manager Bethany. She is downright terrible. She doesn't move. She plants herself in one spot and eats and gossips and rolls her eyes when a manager is needed. I've also seen how she interacts with the employees. She goes out of her way to let everyone around her know that she is reprimanding and demeaning an employee, most likely right there in the middle of the sales floor or at the register. She's also lacking customer service. A woman in front of me did a return and Bethany wouldn't honor the return because the tags weren't attached. However, the customer said the tags were attached through both sides of the shirt and it was impossible to try it on without removing the tags, and she even reminded Bethany that Bethany was the one who checked her out and she pointed it out to Bethany and Bethany told her that it would be ok, and Bethany's response was, "Well, that's too bad.", threw the shirt on the counter, told the cashier to not accept the return, and walked away. read more

Calling this place a Savers is comical. I love thrifting and I go as often as I can and in as many states as I can. This is without a question the most expensive thrift store I've ever seen. For example: books start at $4 and I saw up to $10, men's jeans $13-15, you can see in my picture a random, no label dress is $19. Savers has a terrible return policy. The only items you can bring back for an exchange are clothing and shoes. You can't take back items that you discover don't work. And often, there's no way to test something until you get it home. What other retail chain doesn't let you return something that's broken when you buy it? Three times now, I've bought Nerf guns for my grandson ($9.49 each) that didn't work. Each time, they couldn't be tried out in the store because they didn't have foam bullets and/or batteries. When I voiced my frustration to the cashier manager, she said all I could do was donate the malfunctioning Nerf gun to get the discount coupon to buy another. REALLY? I'm going to knowingly donate a broken toy? Maybe that's how I ended up buying 3 lemons in a row. I have enjoyed thrifting my intire life. Never once was I subject to such gross mismanagement and appallingly bad customer service. I won't dredge up how disgusting humiliating and overall bad my experience was at this particular location. Suffice it to say I would not recommend shopping here. read more

Great deals, fun stuff. A few weeks ago I found a legit 1960s Clue Board game in great condition with all of the pieces. Yay! Today, I kidd you not, my significant other and I picked up a nice sectional here for 19.99. Wow. As a big fan of my local Savers store in the Twin Cities, I had to check out my hometown's new store. This store is good sized for Duluth with an ample clothing section. I was able to find some cute tops, shoes, and even a fall coat for very reasonable prices. I also picked up a couple of newer novels for a couple bucks a piece. This Savers came in handy last weekend when I was in Duluth for a bachelorette party. I needed some serious and some silly gifts for the party. My friends couldn't believe some of the great stuff I found and I am sure that I spent half the amount they did on gifts. Keep in mind, that if you donate items to the store you get discount coupons to use towards your next purchase which can really add up! read more

I was shocked how night the prices are at Savers Duluth. I am from the Twin Cities and the prices there are reasonable $3-5 for a shirt Or shorts. Jeans $8. $5-10 for shoes maybe $12 for boots. Duluth pricing is crazy and I'm in college and it's cheaper for me to shop at Walmart that's just not right. I went there and picked up shorts that were marked $10 for athletic shorts! Also brand name anything is jacked up there was a pair of Nike shorts for $15. Shirts will cost you $8-17! Shoes sometimes were $10-25 and really expensive winter boots. Also if you go in with your own reusable bag and are college age you will be stalked for stealing the entire time. I'm gonna go to goodwill down at Garfield instead. read more

I absolutely love this store! They have good quality items and a wonderful variety. They are pricier than places like Salvation Army or Goodwill because this merchandise is a lot better than what you can get at either one of those stores.For good stuff you will pay a bit more and I don't mind a bit! read more

I have been to multiple Savers stores, and I have to say this one has one of the best selection of items. I didn't have much time to look around, but I found an amazing Columbia jacket and a crew neck in the men's section for great prices! If you are in the area or are an avid thrifter, I definitely recommend checking this store out! read more

I've always been fond of this thrift store, but my last visit there was disappointing. It seems the prices keep going up and the quality of products they accept go down. I love thrift shopping and do it quite often. It seems savers has forgotten that they receive all of this stuff FOR FREE, and sell it for 75% of its original value. Very large thrift store with some really good deals. I'm not a thrift store connoisseur, but from what other stores I've seen, Savers is surprisingly neat and organized. Everything is labeled and easy to find, and the customer service was friendly. Lots of selection in all of the departments and they even do seasonal things like Halloween and ugly Christmas sweaters. They do accept Visa, MasterCard, and cash, but not American Express. Also, there is a huge shared parking lot so it makes it easy to get in and out. read more

By all means it's a great sized thift store pretty well organized. The down side I would think is the professionalism from the employees. Using profound language louder than necessary or at all for that matter is unexceptible. The price all around in the thrift store I think are continuing to go up when it comes to the clothes department which seems a little ridiculous and the clothes can be outdated most of the time you can find something for your taste though. read more
