The towing service for Audi A4 for a distance of 4 miles to Tempe, AZ was quoted at $135 on the phone (quite high for our area but we were in a bit of a pinch, so I agreed to the terms). Upon arrival at the destination, the driver {"Dean") demanded an additional $40 because it was company policy to not drive on dirt (there was 50 feet of gravel City of Tempe alley to traverse in order to get to my driveway). Upon my refusal, Dean said he would not unload the vehicle without additional payment. I instead called the City of Tempe police. They arrived and we ultimately settled on a fee of $139 to unlead the car (which the driver just left in the middle of the alley). I am 70 years old. I needed to have my daughter and friend help me push the car out of the alley and into the driveway. With respect to "service, quality, and value" I would rate them NO STARS. read more

From the moment my son has called for assistance they guy was rude. As soon as I got on the phone he spoke a little different. I called to ask for a receipt that was never given to me so I can get reimbursed from my insurance(don't know why it wasn't given day of service) I called on Tuesday July 11 to follow up on the receipt. He asked me for information about the service and vehicle. Then told me to answer the phone, he has to call me back. Very sharp.. I sharply said I cannot as I have a class... Then precedes to say I don't mean to be a stickler but we need that information ( I was confused as to why he was saying this... Im getting it to him as he speaks) i ask why he says that? I'm getting for the photo of the plates. He says call me back . I told him you are now pressuring me to get the info in a hurry. HE CALLED ME!!! and asked if I have time to get this together. And now I have to call him back. He says providing a receipt is a service...he is doing for free . Then says forget it I'm not doing this. So now I don't get a receipt of service??? It was not a good service from the jump... A lesson for my son... Turned into a headache for me.... Be sure to ask for a receipt IMMEDIATELY after service.. apparently it's an extra charge. I called needing a tow. I was told that the driver had another call down the street from where I was stranded and that he would stop by and move my car out of the intersection using his bumper. He arrived, I approached his truck while he was on the phone. He was on the phone telling the person who he was supposed to be towing before me that he was going to tow my car and he would give him a discount for his patience after I told him how far I needed to be towed. He preceded to load my car onto his flat bed. As he is tying down my car he tells me he has to charge me $25 more for making the guy he was supposed to be towing wait. I didn't ask to be placed priority over the person waiting. So I don't understand why I would be charged the $25. The tow driver repeatedly asked where I was being towed, then called while in route to ask where I was being towed again. I was then charged another $5 for using my debit card, then had the audacity to mention that I should tip the driver?! I wish I had done more research on this towing company. I requested a tow and talked over the phone over with the manager several times througout the day. Each time we talked, I mentioned that I would be needing a tow, but I would first like to jump the battery to verify it was not simply out of charge. The guy told me that was totally fine and confimed he had cables. I mentioned twice that if I needed to cancel the tow I'd still like to give him a bit of cash for his time. He said that was fine. Then he gets to my work, apparently down the block from his last call, and we go to jump my car. I mention again, "If it does turn out to be just the battery, and I don't need the tow, I'll more than gladly give you something for your time." He says, "Yeah, if it's just the battery you won't even need a tow, just leave it running and go get a battery." A minute later the car was running, it was just the battery. I say, "Okay, do you take card? Can I give you something for your time?" and he says, "well it's $100 for road side assisntance." Long story short they guy has the audacity to charge me $100 for a service that was discussed multiple times and IS NOT LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR ANY LISTED FEE, and does not tell me there is a charge for the scenario I explained to him several times until after he provided the service. This was the worst experience ever, do NOT use this company. There are a ton of other companies in the area. I have 25yrs in customer service, so I recognize it when I receive it. I first used them summer of 2011. Broke down in S. Scottsdale, and my trusted tech is in Chandler. The gent was out when he said he would be, and was extremely professional and courteous. Not some reformed addict wearing filthy clothes, as we all have seen a time or two. He had me assist in lifting my car, but no more than my own comfort would allow me to do. I just listened to his directions carefully, and there was no issue. When I 'broke down' again last December, by UoP Stadium way, way out west....I called him again. Thankfully, it turned out I'd simply run out of gas, and didn't know it. That car was by then on its last legs, and burning more MPG per tank than I could keep track of. I didn't need the tow that night, afterall. After i googled on yelp i found this guy with a nice tittle ( save money towing) i thought to myself this can be a good choice. I called him and he said it cost 75$ to tow my car, and i said ok. He didn't show up at the time he gave me and it was like two hours later. He was so on rush at the time i was talking to mechanic and he kept saying "you killing me man" every single minute, as if he is doing a favor to me and it's all free. I was quoted $65 for the tow and they took my credit card information. After they towed the car they raised the price to $71 for the "credit card fee." I asked why they raised the price we agreed on and they said they "always charge that fee." But, I could save that money if I paid in cash. I tried to find that much in cash, but they said if I took too long they would raise the price either way. Why didn't they tell me beforehand? I would have either 1) got the cash ready, or 2) gone with someone else. But by waiting until they delivered the vehicle they put me under pressure to pay their fee. This is not the way to do business. The guy offered to lower the price to $69, but that was still more than we had agreed. What makes this worse is that I had shopped around to get the best deal and these guys had told me confidently (and more than once) that the price would be $65. Shameful. I haven't had a lot of experience with tow companies, but this was a little more than ideal. I had broken down just outside of Tempe, literally not even a mile at about 8am on a Thursday. When I called for a quote, Dean was very nice and quoted me about $115 for a about a 15 mile tow, with a $5 processing fee for a credit card, and a $10 ride a long fee, since I would be traveling with the car. (I have never heard of that and thought it was stupid. Why wouldn't I be going with my car if I broke down and was towing it to a shop that was open.) Fine. It was still cheaper than other places I had called. He told me he was getting busy, so I needed to decide soon. I called him back with in 5 minutes and said yes, lets schedule it. He told me it would be about 1 hour and 45 minutes, so about 10am. Okay. I am trapped in the middle of July in the heat, thankfully there was a medical center that allowed me to keep cool inside. He then called at 10:07am, said his driver just dropped off a car in Mesa and was heading to me. Now, I know Mesa is not an hour a way from Tempe, I live in Mesa. However, his driver did not show until about 11am. When I called Dean a little before 11am, you could tell he was rushed and stressed and was kind of rude. I chalked it up to being busy, and he did not mean to be like that. Said my driver would be there in about 2 minutes. Now here is where I really have a problem. When my driver showed up, Richard, he was on the phone with someone else conducting business for another customer. Okay, no problem. However, I stood there in the heat, waiting. When he finally got out of the truck, he apologized and said he was trying to clear something up for a customer. Again, okay, at least he apologized. He gets my car on the trailer, and then needs to open my door to pop my trunk to look for something, and scrapes the bottom of my door and the side of his trailer. I didn't say anything, I just asked him what he needed and did the rest for him. Others may not find that a big deal, but I was married to a paint and body man for 10 years, NOT COOL! Now my car is loaded, he clears a seat for me. I ask him if Dean called and told him that I had decoded to take it to the dealership instead, which is 8 miles closer. (Therefore the trip should be cheaper, right?) He said yes. He new it was closer, and when I asked if that would make it cheaper, he said yes. Now we are driving down the road, and the phone rings. I guess when they get really busy, Richard takes calls too. So, Richard begins to write down information about another pick up, while driving, we are heading into other lanes. Not erratically, but enough to scare me. All I was thinking is I am going to die, or he is going to wreck my car. Once we are on the freeway, he is off the phone and we are chatting. He seems nice enough. I try to let everything else go. I am hot, hungry (I have not eaten yet) and have not had any water. We get to the dealership, I go in and talk to my service advisor, and Richard unloads my car. He is on the phone again with the same people he was talking to when he picked me up. I guess he was calling a supervisor or something for the unprofessionalism of the woman he spoke to earlier. Needless to say, again he was not paying attention. When he parked my car and got out, there was grease on my light colored interior. He apologizes. Goes to his truck to look for something to clean it up with, meanwhile still on the phone with the other people. I stand at my car, very upset (did I mention my car looks like new and is only 3 years old)Finally, tired of waiting, hangry, hot, and still dehydrated I walk up to his truck and ask for my keys. He explains he doesn't know how the grease got on the seats, he has nothing to clean it up, etc. I tell him I will just get it detailed. It is almost noon, and I am just done with the entire situation. He states to send them a receipt, and they will reimburse me. Then he says, that since Dean quoted me $115, plus the $5 processing fee, which would be $120, how about we just say $110 and we will call it even. Explains he didn't charge me for the ride along fee either, so I am saving $20. Really? Am I? Do you know how much it costs to get a car detailed? Not to mention I knocked off 8 miles of my trip by changing the destination of my car. I saved $20!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORSE TOW SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY FAR WAY....Run! I spoke with a man name Dee by phone, (What man calls himself "Dee? - Should have taken as a warning sign to run). Dee quoted me a flat rate price of $50.00 provided I pay cash and write a positive review (unhealthy...quid pro quo...another clue to run - a company delivering good service does not have to ask customer to write good reviews). At any rate, I cannot write a positive review because my experience was...anything but positive. When the person from "Save Money Towing" a.k.a "Chandler Towing Service" finally showed up, after an entire - nonproductive day of waiting, I asked if his name was Dee. The little man stated, "yes" to my query regarding his name. He then asked me where my auto was being towed, again this should have been another red flag to not do any business with these people. Dee, the man I spoke with by phone had prior knowledge of where my auto was to be taken because we discussed it at length during our many phone conversations. Initially I was going to have my auto towed to my house. But I found an auto mechanic in the area who suggested I have the auto towed to his business. And when I explained the change to Dee on the phone, he again quoted me the flat rate of $50.00 provided I still agreed to pay him with cash and write a positive review. However, the person showed up calling himself Dee he had no knowledge of our prior phone conversations. This little man had a rental u-Haul hitch attached to a white pick up truck and immediately attempted to extort more money. He stated that he was not in fact, Dee. He emphatically stated that the he was not the owner and had no authority to alter or haggle with price. He stated that he would require an extra $10.00 due to company policy requiring an additional $3.50 per mile. When I asked him again if he was Dee, the little man stated he was indeed not Dee and that he did not care whom I spoke with by phone. He stated Dee had no authority to make any decisions. He then stated that he was in fact the owner but had lied because he does not want anyone to know that he is the owner. My husband explained that we only brought $50.00 cash as per our telephone agreement, to which the little man stated he would have to call someone to see if accepting $50.00 to go three miles was acceptable. This after he just stated he was the owner, go figure...After some considerable more time waiting, given I had been waiting all day for Dee to arrive; The little man came back and agreed to tow my auto to the auto mechanic for $50.00 cash. He angrily stated he would need the money up front, to which I ignored. I never pre-pay for services not rendered satisfactorily!!! He then stated it was a one-time courtesy, as if he was doing me a favor...the unmitigated gall! read more
