What's in a lot?
A lot by any other name would not bear as many savings... At least, I don't think it would. Work with me here- I was in a parking LOT for the photo after all! (Ba-dum-tss) All jokes aside, I did hope to save a lot while at this store.
I stopped by Save-A-Lot to get items for an older dog. They say chicken and rice is good for a dog who's on a bland diet, so those two items were my mission. I was greeted with a friendly wave by the cashier upon entering. He had been nonchalantly chatting with who I assume to be another employee near the bagging area- the place was relatively empty, so no worries there.
I went for the rice first. That took a minute or two to find, and once located there were a handful of brands to choose from. The least expensive bag overall won that round. Right after picking up the rice, I went straight to the back to collect the chicken. The meat section is viewable from the rice area, so that was a short stride. There weren't many brands to choose from as far as chicken goes. I believe there was only 1 brand for chicken breasts specifically, so I went with that one.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that Apple Pay (yay!) is a form of payment that Save-A-Lot accepts. Funny enough, the cashier said I was the first customer to successfully use it all month- this was the second to last day in November. I suppose Apple Pay isn't as exciting to use for others. The cashier also offered to give me a bag for a small fee- which I politely declined.
