Excellent service, food and vibe. The harvest platter (vegan) was beautiful and delicious. I think that's newly added since the last time I ate here. I wish there were a couple vegan apps too! There were ten of us, and from the scallops to shrimp to filets, everyone was really happy and super stuffed. This place is a hidden gem in St Croix. It was slightly confusing to find the front of the restaurant (it's actually the back of the restaurant by the parking lot) but the atmosphere and food was incredible. There is one table upstairs that overlooks the bar area- aim for that table if you can. It's a beautiful view! The service was also great and full of recommendations. We will be back! read more

We dined here to celebrate my 50th birthday. We were seated out back in a small romantic area. Very nice. I had the pork loin dish and my husband enjoyed the lamb chops. Food was VERY good. Our server, Shawnee was very pleasant made sure we enjoyed our dinner. We split a piece of the Rum Banana cake dessert as well. It didn't disappoint. I highly recommend this restaurant if given the opportunity. Reservations are highly recommended as well. Most of the restaurants are small and have limited seating. read more

Brie was absolutely incredible. We had an awful experience at the mermaid at the Buccaneer where all employees were inattentive and rude. We called the savant and were given reservations and polite service and Brie took great care to be polite and give us incredible customer service. The food was very good. I ordered the bacon wrapped pork chop. It was a big portion and delicious, highly recommend. My wife got the filet mignon and was very good as well. The place was a little too dark, played pleasant jazz in the background and felt a little too small. Not what I expected. Mahi was overcooked though the curry sauce was wonderful and tasty. Lamb was okay. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed. Key lime pie frozen on delivery to table was it for me. So far best restaurant to eat at on the island that I have tried. It is a little weird right now during COVID since they have to serve on paper plates. Despite that the food was amazing and I would recommend having whatever specials they have going for the night. Based on the orders I would say the specials were the best. Non locals just be aware you may have sticker shock. It is just how it is on the island. But if you want to have a nice meal in a cool place and you dont mind spending some money for a good experience then try Savant. Not sure I would recommend a family come here with smaller kids. You will pay a premium for food the kids won't appreciate. read more

We definitely has a wonderful dinner here. Service was friendly and good was very good. We made a reservation and we're glad we did. I loved the look of the patio, but it was hot and humid that night and there is no breeze, so that made it for a hot night. But that and the fact that I liked a few other places around town better (Balter and our favorite Ital in Paradise) is the only reason why I gave it four stars. read more

I had the chicken lollipops as an appetizer which tasted great. For my entree, I ordered the fish of the day which was blackened Mahi. The mahi was very disappointing -- not seasoned at all and really lacked salt. The Savantarita cocktail was made with premium tequila but was very average. Savant came HIGHLY recommended by friends who live on the island as a fine, romantic atmosphere which is exactly what we were looking for as we had just gotten engaged! We called ahead a day and made reservations. Upon arrival, there was easy parking behind the restaurant and the outdoor patio was as cute and romantic as could be. Our server was incredible. She was extremely knowledgeable and did a great job describing the daily specials. I was disappointed they didn't serve Tito's vodka, but the bartender made a fantastic Ketel One martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. We ordered the wahoo eggrolls (absolutely incredible, we took an order of the lobster eggrolls to go with us), and the calamari which was seriously heaven. My fiance got the filet which he thought tasted great and I ordered a pasta dish. I turned out to be disappointed....it was described as a creamy tomato and came out as more of a marina sauce. The shrimp had their tails on which are a big peeve of mine... Overall the experience was great and just what we needed. They get major perks for the atmosphere and the service. Unfortunately, we both got extremely sick that night and next morning. It was bad, bad, bad food poisoning. I can't pinpoint exactly what it was as we shared all the dishes - so I hope this review finds its way back to the chef. We may try them again in the future... read more

We loved this restaurant! We sat at the bar, but the service was excellent. I love St. Croix, and especially the local places! Savant was wonderful! I had the paella, it was really good. This place is so quaint and romantic! Its a few streets away from the boardwalk and doesn't look great from the outside but trust me, this place is legit! I mean after all, you are on one of the most comfortable vacation spots around. They have some very creative dishes here Since I am writing this about a week after our visit I don't remember exactly what everyone had but a couple of the ladies had wahoo wrapped in prosciutto topped with cheese and raved about it. We had one of the best meals of our trip to the Virgin Islands at this tiny, very charming restaurant in Christiansted. The animated and super friendly staff together with the artfully designed interior made for an unique and deeply heart-filled environment for what proved to be a night of epic and imaginative cuisine. Billed as farm to table, the meal was mouth watering from the first bite. We had the lobster and mahi egg rolls which are enormous (one serving served 4!) as well as the shrimp potstickers. All of which were delicious. Then came the main courses. Oh. My. God. The pork-chop wrapped in bacon was truly one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. Perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, flavorful, a mouth-gasm-inducing flavor extravaganza. Everyone at our table tried it and voted it the best entree we ordered. It was big enough to take home and have two more meals of! It was served with masked sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts cooked with bacon along with a mustard sauce that was to die for. I am still salivating as I type this. Truly a symphony of pork and an honoring of the creature who's sacrifice made it possible. A top reason I'll want to go back to St Croix! read more

I believe there is an inside seating area and a more "open air concept" area and we sat in the latter thanks to our reservations. There is so much to look at with the native plants growing up the walls and well placed mood lighting throughout the place and I fell in love with the location pretty much right from the start. Service was impeccable and our waitress did a fantastic job of reciting all of the evening's menu changes and specials (of which there were MANY). I ordered the crab cakes which were seared to perfection with a delicious accompanying sauce and coconut rice. I'll need to make a note of that coconut rice so I can attempt to recreate it at home. The only slight downside was the dessert. It was a fruity flan of some sort but compared to the rest of the dishes we ate, it just fell flat. Overall, I loved my experience here and look forward to coming back on a future trip. This is on my must try list for the island. read more

They take pride in their food, and while they spend time cooking it, it is worth the wait. I had the goat curry- delicious. My partner had the filet with mashed potatoes, and it really was a treat. Food runner brought out the two filet mignon steaks we ordered, however she didn't bother to ask who had which temperature. My wife got the medium rare steak and our friend got the well done steak. Just not the usual experience this past time. (Started with an overpowering stench in the parking lot). We ordered club sodas and had several refills, but not until the bill came did we realize they charged $4 per glass for a total of $24 in club soda ?! We had a party of 6 and two had the calamari appetizer: one couple loved it while the other's arrive cold and they did not enjoy it. Server was very sketchy on prices of specials - the typical response if asked was that it was "about $50". There was a mix up on salads and had to wait for kitchen to make a second salad. Several tables that were seated after us were served before us. It was probably 90 minutes after being seated at 7pm that we were finally served entrees. We were not in a rush, but there was a long wait between appetizer and entrees. Entrees we're all good. Crispy snapper was more spicy than expected and $37 for tofu curry was overpriced. They did accommodate the request for three separate checks which was appreciated and an automatic 20% gratuity was added but not mentioned (a pet peeve). We dined in the courtyard and it is very nice ambiance but can get just a bit warm. The server was very joyful. Had it not been for the long wait for entrees, it could have been a more pleasant evening. read more

We went to Savant with a group of 7 on our last night in St Croix. We loved the outdoor area where we were seated, and arrived with great expectations. Those expectations rapidly eroded. Our waiter was either having an off night, or simply hated his job. I am betting on the latter. After someone in our party asked several questions about the wine, he was clearly annoyed and left without taking our drink orders. Came back later, and I had to remind him he never took drink orders for the rest of us. I had the mahi ceviche, which was tasteless, a tough feat for ceviche. Hoping to revive the dish, I asked the wait staff for salt, three times before it arrived (my husband said that if it had not come soon, he was going into the kitchen to get it.) Alas even with the salt, the dish was inedible. Dish two was he grilled calamari, which was over cooked and devoid of seasoning; it was served with unseasoned mayo. My husband said his spinach salad was the worst he had ever eaten, and he did not enjoy the lobster egg rolls. We had tangerines when we returned to our hotel, which was the only tasty food of the evening. If you want a good dining experience, check out Galangal, which was an excellent experience. read more

For entrees we wanted to order something that can't be messed up because we had a bad dinner experience the day before at a different restaurant. Got the lamb which was perfectly cooked with maple based sauce that gave it a nice hint of sweetness. Asparagus was a bit too charred but I really liked it. The other entree was scallops (4) with sweet potato puréed. It was flavorful. The dessert was also good. We got the chocolate mousse pie. The prices are appropriate for fine dining.
