Located directly on the boardwalk it was a great settling for outdoor dining. The indoors has a very nice beach vibe, great moody lighting. The service at Harbour Prime was very good. Our server was very nice and helpful with recommendations. Multiple servers came around refilling our waters and making sure we were getting everything we needed. Our server had some good recommendations for cocktails and mocktails! The menu included a very large range of cocktails and mocktails (as someone who rarely drinks alcohol this was appreciated). Overall the food was good.. not great. Something about it seemed to be unfinished or missing that little sparkle that makes you remember a meal. For appetizers we had the Caesar salad, artichoke and crab dip, and the bang bang shrimp. Caesar Salad - This was enjoyable! The romaine was fresh and was tossed in the right amount of dressing and parm. However, the croutons were soggy and lacked almost all crunch. Artichoke and Crab Dip - This app seemed a little bland. There wasn't really too much of an artichoke vibe, or a crab vibe for that matter. The best was the cheese on top. The toasted bread that accompanied the dip was plain as well. Bang Bang Shrimp - This dish was tasty. The flavors were as described and cohesive. I liked how the shrimp were smothered in sauce but maintained their crispy! Skin Fried Snapper (Entree Special) - The presentation of this dish was pleasing, unfortunately that's about all I enjoyed of it. It came over rice, broccolini and corn. The fish was lacking flavor and the skin was soggy and squishy, no crisp to be found. The rice was definitely undercooked and the corn seemed to just be taken out of the can and put on the plate. The broccolini was very good. Desserts (Rum Cake and Chocolate Mousse) - As a big dessert person, these were delightful. The rum cake came out warm and was a nice consistency. The chocolate mousse was the star of the desserts. It was visually appealing and well as tasty. It was so light and airy while packing a flavor punch. 3/5 stars. The ambiance at this restaurant, particular where we sat outside on the boardwalk at sunset was very nice. You can see the tarpon swimming around and enjoy the views. The staff was also very nice, attentive and we never waited too long to order or receive our food. The food was unfortunately where this place kinda let me down. For appetizers, we ordered the bang bang shrimp, a Caesar salad and the spinach artichoke and crab dip. The shrimp were good and tasty, the dip was a little underwhelming. For dinner, my partner and I both ate the skin fried snapper special. The rice was noticeably undercooked, the skin on the snapper was still a little soft and very much not crispy or fried at all despite the dish name. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse which I can recommend, I did enjoy that. However I probably wouldn't reorder anything else I had tonight aside from maybe the bang bang shrimp. read more

The place is incredibly stuffy (figuratively, not literally) and the service is nil. Came in 45 minutes before they closed and the hostess wouldn't seat us. There was room at the bar, tables were open and nearly every table on the boardwalk was open. Instead, she walked us through an ally and suggested we go to their sister establishment "Breakers Roar Tiki Bar" which is not at all what we were looking for. She said it was because they were short staffed but I'm nearly 100% certain it's because we weren't dressed to impress. We recently moved to the island and eat out a lot but I will certainly never step foot in either of these establishments again. read more

We had a lovely dinner at Harbour Prime last night. First of all, Briana was delightful. She knew her menu and what to suggest, but not only that she kept coming back and checking to make sure everything was perfect, tossing in nuggets about the island. We will look into a few of those today. Hubby had the Surf & Turf and said it was one of the best lobsters he ever tasted, and the steak was just as he likes it. I had the special Wahoo fish plate with more flavors than I can list. Delish! The mushrooms in garlic cream before our meal was fantastic and make sure to have their rum cake after. So moist, but not wet like some I've tasted. I only gave 4 stars on atmosphere because of the open windows concept which allowed a breeze but also bugs, but it is an island after all. It was extremely clean, not bug infested just flying pests. *Note: they have the prettiest bathroom I've seen in 5 days on the island. A must visit. read more

The food was very good. I would not put it in the "great" category but it was very good - when we finally got it. We had the Rasta Pasta, the Seafood Chowder, the Crab Cakes - I cannot recall what the 4th person in our party had - but 2 entrees, 2 apps., a side salad and one cocktail - $160. The service was atrocious. The waiter didn't come to get a drink order (not even water) for 20 minutes. Then we waited over an hour for our food. We watched tables outside get seated after us fed and left before we even got food. Our waiter never removed cocktail glasses, never checked back. In fact, a waitress from the other side of the dining room checked on us and obviously it wasn't her issue. We watched a table seated ahead of us with two young boys finally get their food - burgers with no fries, no ketchup, no butter for the lobster etc. They waited another 15 minutes and asked another wait person for that after our waiter failed to return with the same. Besides some of the waitstaff being completely inept, I suspect that the kitchen is too small or understaffed. Either way - they should not seat tables that they cannot actually accommodate in some sort of timely manner. The place is beautiful though. read more

Great Food, Beautiful View, Allergy-Friendly Service We stopped in for a lighter meal at this upscale steakhouse and had a really nice experience. The setting is beautiful, especially with the water view -- perfect for sitting, relaxing, and people-watching. The salad was delicious, and the balsamic dressing was especially good. We also shared the filet bites, which were cooked well and very flavorful. Even though we didn't do a full dinner, everything we had was excellent. One thing to note: we initially ordered a fried item and were told it was safe, but after asking again, the server double-checked and let us know it's cooked in the same oil as fish. I have a fish/shellfish allergy, so we really appreciated them catching that and removing it from our order. Definitely something to be aware of if you have allergies. While this is more of a higher-end steakhouse and would be a pricier full meal, it worked out great for a lighter dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would absolutely come back to try more. read more

Came here on Saturday, 7/26 around 7pm. We had a party of 9, they sat us fairly quickly but that would be the end of a quick service. We put in our drinks orders. I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary, the server said she would have to check if the can make it. After 20 min she said they could, everyone got their drinks within min 30ish minutes. It took over 40 minutes to get my drink. It was okay. I ordered the lobster fritter as an app, w/ our meals. The other guest ordered appetizers as their meals. My kids also got an app & 3 meals at their table. All appetizers came out. The lobster fritters were still cold on the inside, so I let the server know & she said they would remake the. 25 min later she let us know they apparently refired & burnt them 2x. She asked if I wanted anything to replace them & told her I didn't want anything, just to bring the kids food. The kids food came out and was okay. Me & my husband still had to wait an extra 15 min for our food after everyone had gotten & ate thier food. 2 of my guest had to leave. We finally got our 2 plates at 8:30pm. It was okay. We got the passion fruit cheesecake hoping it would be a saving grace. It was a very small slice for $12, but it was decent. The bill came with added gratuity, but the fritters were still on there, so I let her know & she got it removed. Out server was very nice but was not the most attentive, we ran out of water and there was no checking in with is to let us know anything about our meals, the mishaps or how much longer it would be. The restaurant is open air, but on the water. Might be a bit warm if your not used to it. I would only recommend this place if you want to try the bang bang chicken skewers. Over all the food was okay but not worth the price or having to deal with bad service or long wait times. I was raised on STX and come back to visit a lot & I was looking forward to this. read more

So we stopped in, on Mother's Day so I get these guys were really busy. We ordered two painkillers and their Prime burger with truffle Parmesean fries. It took a while to get drinks and the food, but we get it- they were slammed. Drinks were great and then our food arrived. The meat was perfectly medium rare as we ordered it. However, all that was on the burger was a tomato. No bacon, cheddar cheese, carmelized onions or lettuce. No condiments that I could notice. The fries were just fries, no parmesean, no truffle salt, just fries- fine but not what we wanted. We actually thought we might have gotten someone else's order, but was assured by the food runner it was ours. We ate it and it was fine. We didn't want to make a fuss, because they were slammed, and we were starving at this point. We mentioned to the bartender that we thought we might have gotten someone else's order, and explained the plain burger with just a tomato. He called the manager (Carl) over who then explained they ran out of everything....... Lettuce, onions, cheese, parmesean, bacon etc. When I told him that they should have let us know that when they delivered the burger or when we ordered it, he said well that's why I'm talking to you now. (No, it's because your bartender told you what happened). He nicely gave me a 15% off coupon that they were giving everyone who came in today - that I could use on a future visit. I hate giving bad reviews, but I was very disappointed. I will try again in 6 months. The positives: It's a cool location in the boardwalk, with nice view of the ocean, a beautiful bar, with an attached / coowned speakeasy bar that I haven't visited. Service was attentive, polite and friendly. Didn't have to wait, and the food runner was very good at his job. Drinks were good. Hang out at the bar, it's a good spot. The negatives: The apps came out a bit quickly... too quickly: Mussels were room temperature and mealy. Bang bang shrimp - tasty sauce, but also pretty sure they had been sitting under a heat lamp or something- had a hardish edge and not hot enough temp. Entree: The whole fried snapper was only slightly warm, dry and also tasted like it had been fried long before I ordered it. I assume heat lamp. The steak was fine, cooked at right temp. Menu: The menu is pretty simple and I'd prefer to see more surf options. They were out of lobsters that day, so probably would've had that instead of a snapper. But I would've been pissed off if that also came out dry. The pasta dish also sounded good (on the menu). Steak isn't hard to find on the island, so this isn't the only place to go. But, it's a beautiful spot and if they can improve their kitchen, they could be amazing. Won't return anytime soon, but I'll give them another chance much later. read more

This was our first time attending this restaurant. At first service seemed great. Although that quickly changed when my mother's food came out. She had ordered the burger, but it had come out freezing cold along with the fries. When we had told our waitress, she quickly took the food and gave it back to the kitchen. I had ordered the kids chicken poppers because I was not very hungry. They were not poppers at all. They were full on chicken tenders. One of my friends had ordered the kids burger because she was not very hungry either. My mom's burger and her burger were the exact same size and almost the exact same meal but the adult was about a $20 up charge. The burger bun was also burnt so all you could taste was the burnt bun. As we were almost done with our kids meals our other friends foods came out. My mother's burger when it came back out was rock hard. The bun was almost burnt to a crisp and the lettuce and tomato looked like it had just been thrown into the oven. One of our other friends had ordered the steak and asked for a substitute of fries with a side salad. Another one of our friends ordered a mahi-mahi salad. The mahi was a little bit cold and overall the salad was OK. She had also asked for more water since we had run out. When we got the bill, she was up charged for the exchanged side salad. We were also charged $7 for the refill of tap water. There were also many other things wrong, but I'm just trying to get to the point here. When my mother had gone to ask her about the up charges of all of the things we were not told about. The waitress said it is what it is and there's nothing we can change about it, in a very rude way. After that, my mom had come back to the table to tell us what had just happened. Then the manager had walked by so she pulled her aside and had told her what happened. She told us that the water was an up charge and that she should've told you about it, the side salad was an up charge that she also should've told you about as well, but the burger that was not hot should've been taken off of the bill. Earlier in the afternoon, we had seen this family, eating chocolate cake and ice cream. The manager who had been pulled aside, offered to give us free dessert. She offered us all sorts of cheesecake and Keylime pie but no chocolate cake. We said we were OK and we just wanted to leave. She then offered to take the $30 burger off of the bill, but we had told her that the lady had already taken our cards to go charge them. She quickly tried to offer us other things, but we quickly denied them. Even though she should have walked up to our waitress and canceled the transaction. When we got the final receipt there was a 20 % gratuity charge as well. Another issue was, as soon as we sat down. As all they advertised was the lobster our waitress told us that they did not have any we were very disappointed and upset. We signed as quickly as possible to leave this horrible ambiance and service. Would not really recommend coming here, and will never be coming back until they go out of business. read more

We sat for 20 minutes before our server came over to take our drink order -- by then, we were ready to order food as well. Several items we initially wanted, including the lobster tails, were unavailable. While we adjusted and chose other dishes, we were frustrated to learn later that other items we ordered, like the shrimp cocktail, were also unavailable -- but no one informed us until we asked. Our drinks didn't arrive until the food did, about 30 minutes later. The food itself was underwhelming. My sister's fish and chips were bland, and her shrimp cocktail never arrived. My friend had the seafood pasta with potatoes, which was also bland but ended up being the best dish of the night. I ordered the Cajun honey salmon with a Caesar salad. The salad never came, the salmon was overcooked, the rice was completely undercooked (hard as a rock), and the vegetables were served cold. Even worse, our server never came by to check on us after taking our order. We had to ask the host to get him -- and still, he never returned. We ended up speaking to the manager, who was very kind and did her best to make things right by offering free desserts. Unfortunately, even one of those never showed up. It's a beautiful restaurant, but the service and food did not match the ambiance. For what we spent, the experience was absolutely not worth it. read more

Frustrating experience dining here because the food we had was quite good. Getting it was the issue. We're a family of 4 - elderly parents and my partner and I are in our late 50s. We were seated at 7:40, ordered drinks which came out in good order and we spent some time chatting and looking over the menu since it was our first visit to the restaurant. We placed our food order around 8:10. We do chat a lot, so at 9:00 we asked our waiter check on our food as the soups/salads and an appetizer never came. He brought out the Caribbean salad - that he said he had to make in the back at 9:15. He was nice and apologized, and went to check on everything else. Then, at 9:20 the two filet entrees arrived. No soups, no appetizers, yet. As the waiter came out to update us on our order, we point out our steaks sitting in front of us. He was quite surprised. While discussing nixing the soups and apps from the order, the third entree (mussels) arrived immediately followed by the soups and appetizer. We accepted the entrees and refused the rest. It took another 10 minutes for the Rasta Pasta (the 4th entree) to make it to the table. During this time we saw commotion between the manager, waitstaff and the kitchen and the manager the told the hostesses not to seat any more people in the restaurant and direct them to Breakers. I don't understand, with the digital ordering system they use, how entrees could arrive ahead of soups and salads. Our steaks were amazing a prepared exactly as ordered - props on the chimichurri! So while this kitchen can prepare good food, they need to seriously work on delivery. Nothing in a restaurant is simpler than pouring soup into a bowl and delivering it promptly. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I ordered a bourbon mule, but they were out of ginger beer and ginger ale (send a hostess to Shupe's and buy a can!) Harbour Prime is not yet ready for prime time, nor worth the price(s) - upwards of $300 w/out the starters. We were hopeful for HP because it's such a nice location with a great breeze and atmosphere, but we'd be hard pressed to return and will stick to Galangal, Too Chez, Savant, etc. for fine dining downtown and to Ama for an on-the-water dining experience. I'd also say that we appreciated the predominantly Crucian staff - uncommon on many restaurants on island these days. read more

Came here on 9/1 for my birthday. I was visiting St. Croix from NY. I ordered the ribeye and my husband a lobster, which they didn't have , so he ordered prime burger instead. We also ordered 2 glasses of Cabernet. Here's where everything goes left.... It took 15 min for our wine. Then another 15 for our server to come over to tell us that they were out of buns for my husband's burger. What a shame! The service we received from our server was terrible.However, another server checked in on us and provided a detailed explanation as to what was going on in the kitchen. The ambience is amazing 9/10 Service 0/10 After 36 more minutes, my steak came out. The steak was tough, mash potatoes were decent and the green beans were overcooked and salty. Food 2/10. The ambiance and old timey music playing was the perfect setting to a delicious meal last night! They brought out the biggest lobster I have ever seen and was able to take a picture with it before it became my meal shortly after. Harbour prime sits right on the corner of the boardwalk giving a beautiful view of the water and cay beach, that's the best thing about this place. We tried their spinach artichoke crab pot and lobster/crab bisque which were very good, but our main courses were very disappointing for the price. $80 for a surf and turf that was mediocre at best is not fine dining which this place covers itself as. The service was on the slow side but there was one server covering 90% of the tables in the restaurant. We also were charged with a 20% auto gratuity for splitting the check on a party of 2. This place is new and could be great if they fixed these few issues, but you should not be charged fine dining prices for a restaurant getting the hang of things. read more

My husband had garlic chicken and he said it was good. we shared a salad that was huge, would have been nice to know the size. I had the shrimp cocktail and some of the shrimp were mushy or had mushy parts. Two had not been deveined. I also had a loaded potato and it was dry and shriveled - made the previous night? I never leave reviews but had a very bad experience with the service and food quality. My husband and I came here for dinner on the last night of our honeymoon. We informed our server of how important the night was to us. We both ordered expensive entrees, the issue was with the steak i ordered. I ordered it medium and it came out well done. I sent it back and waited around 20 min for my refire, my husband had already finished his food and my server came up to us and said "oh your steak still hasn't come out". finally got my food. it was better the second time around, but once she brought the bill it was not compensated for in any way. my husband and i are both in service industry and we both know that you pay for the experience+food you order. i let her know that i would never have a customer pay for the meal if it was that screwed up and her exact words were "well you're paying for it because you ate it". it's not about the money, very offensive to say. then i asked for the manager and she informed me that she is the manager. so i had to argue my way into half off on my last meal with my husband for our honeymoon. not even a dessert was offered. bummer that our trip ended like that. and overall, service aside, the food was so-so for price. we went to a bunch of other restaurants in this area prior and service, food, and kindness from workers was all 10/10. if you are between places i would recommend going with another spot respectfully. read more
