Savannah Motorsport
My purchase with this dealership has been the absolute worst buying experience of my life! And that is not an exaggeration. I typically do not write reviews. I have been treated so poorly by this company I'm taking time out of my day to hopefully save somebody else from the same headache, aggravation and loss of money. I purchased a used Harley Davison from this dealership, I saw the bike online and made the trip down from Atlanta to Savannah to purchase the bike. Looked at the bike asked questions to which salesman told me the bike had been through their shop, checked out and had a fresh oil change done. I'll come back to the oil changed because I may be mistaken, I believe he told me that the shop changed the oil. Anyways, they wouldn't let me ride the bike saying insurance would not cover it even though I already have full coverage insurance on the bike from my own Insurance company. The salesman drove the bike around the parking lot so I could hear and see it run. I purchased the bike, loaded it up and headed home. I rode the bike around for about 30 miles and noticed a ticking sound coming from the motor at idle so I decided I should check the oil. The oil wasn't even touching the stick! So, I reached out to the salesman and asked "hey didn't you say that you guys change the oil when the bike when it went through the shop" he said no, that the oil change had been done with in 500 miles of it being traded in. Now I'm not sure how he would know that, I asked if they had service records and they did not. I'm a little unsure at this point but just figured I probably misunderstood when I thought he said his shop changed the oil but regardless, should the shop have noticed it was low on oil?? For good measure I took the bike to my local shop, payed $100 buck for the shop to do a good inspection of the bike and let me know if it needed anything. Well when I got the call from the mechanic it was clear that it was never looked at by the shop at the dealer. It had an obvious oil leak that had been leaking for quite some time (not leaking a lot of oil at one time, certainly not enough to leak out between the time I bought it and when I got it to the shop), one of the signals didn't work, the heated grips didn't work, the air suspension will not hold air and it needed adjustments to the drive line, a new drive belt and the tires were out of date. And was going to cost me over $3,000 to fix 2 weeks after I paid $15,000 to buy the dang thing.
Well the dealer was nice enough to sale me an extended warrant for the bike. So, I'm thinking to myself "awesome, most of this should be covered under the warranty, I have zero deductible, maybe this won't be such a big deal. Nope! The warranty has exclusions and conditions and stipulations that made the warranty worthless. They denied my claim, saying they do not cover preexisting issues. I then careful read the contract and it was a joke, they do not cover anything. Okay so in the fine print I see there's 30 days to cancel with no penalty is other than a $50 cancellation charge. I called the dealership and left a voicemail for the sales manager, no call back so I tried the next day and got to talk to him I told him I want to cancel the extended warranty and asked if he was willing to do anything about the cost of having the bike repaired which he replied, no! Not even a "sorry you got screwed"
He said he would submit the info to get the warranty canceled and to follow up the next week with him and he said the salesman had to do it so I talked to the salesman and he said someone in accounting had to do it and she was out of town. Seriously!!! I continued to get bounced around until the lady that cuts the check finally told me that the refund was made, and the check was sent to the finance company. Great! At least one thing went right. Wrong again! I asked how much the refund was and she stated that I was being 80% or original cost! Screwed again! Come to find out that the dealer didn't cancel the warranty until after my 30 days was up by 5 days. The warranty company is doing nothing they say it's not their fault, the dealership did say they would talk to the employees about how important it is to get those cancelations out on time in the future! So, to recap - the salesman lied about the oil change, lied about the bike going through the shop, 3 people were involved in the warranty cancelation and it still was not submitted in time. I lost $600 on the warranty deal; bike needs $3,000 in repairs. It cost me $3,600 more than the asking price to buy this bike and all the dealers is willing to do is....... absolutely nothing! I know every company is capable of making a mistake and giving bad service from time to time but these people (including the sales manager) had several opportunities to get it right or make it right and they continually failed to put any effort in doing so. read more
