Attended Licensed Professional Counselor conference at this facility. It is truly a beautiful facility. Food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the fact that it was not freezing cold in the rooms :) as someone who's always cold, I appreciated that.

My couple Yelp followers aren't the crowd deciding to hold their conferences at places, so if you're coming it's likely you're "assigned". But heads-up this will be a nicer convention experience than most. Temporarily overlooking the construction as they double the size, Savannah made a unique riverfront experience. You're separated from the parties across the water, but no fear: the free ferry runs 7-10 with extended hours weekends/special times, and during conferences. This allows revelry further into the night (but not too far, as the ferry master captain said, or you'll "see that last boat getting smaller and smaller when you missed it"). Plenty of parking if you decide to drive, and if you're there daily see ferry note above as it may be cheaper to park in the city and ferry it over. The staff were hospitable which is a welcomed change from some city centers who make you feel like the opposite. It's an easy ride share from the airport. Nice job Savannah.

I came here for the Savannah Tattoo Convention. My artist came from NC so we could do a tattoo I've been wanted. You can either ferry across the river or drive over the bridge and park. We decided to drive over the bridge and park. But the traffic was insane for the event. The convention center was very nice and clean. They set up the convention center really well. It wasn't difficult to clear and get in. They gave the option to pay for a multi day pass or a single day and offered military discounts.

Stayed at the Westin right next door for 4 days for a conference, and most of our meetings were held here in the adjoining conference center. It's a short walk with both indoor and outdoor access, and the ferry also stops right behind it. It's a quite large space, and the meeting rooms and the auditorium are both very nice, clean and well kept, as are the restrooms. They have a business center and even vending machines on the main level, for convenience. Nice workers staff the hallways and everyone was friendly and helpful. They also have brochures and guide maps in the lobby for tourists, and beautiful, interesting artwork adorns the walls. I travel a lot for work and this is definitely one of the nicest convention centers I've experienced.

This venue has a stunning view of the river and River Street. There are large corporate events like KOA and Gulf Stream. And open to the public events like the Rock n' Roll Marathon or Low Country Home and Garden Show. I've heard that Christmas Made in The South is super cool. They offer a variety of room sizes including smaller rooms. Surprisingly, they even hold wedding here. They have a full kitchen and serving staff so events and such can have food. It can be low key like lunches or elaborate meals with linens and table clothes. There is plenty of parking. They offer $5 parking on the 4th of July and a perfect spot to watch fireworks. It's an older faculty but they work hard to keep it clean. And a total renovation and expansion is coming soon. The ferry ride from downtown to the Center is free.

Very nice facility. Lovely location right on the river. If you're staying at the Westin it is super convenient. If you're not staying there...that's a different story. I'm not a fan of the access to the Center. When I was there recently, I was told by several people NOT to drive because there wasn't much parking and traffic was a nightmare. So by default, I decided to take the ferry. The ferry may be quaint, but it's inefficient. Standing in line to wait for a ferry to get there and then return is a giant waste of time in my book. When you have people visiting the city, you'd rather have their free time spent shopping or eating. I can tell you I had no economic impact on the city while I waited in line for the boat. That's an hour when I could have been buying Paula Deen cookbooks or sampling items at the Peanut Shop. So even though the place is nice, it's not a place I'd recommend holding any type of event due to the restricted access. --Caveat-- I am an impatient, uptight Northerner so I wanted to give context for my comments

This is a huge conferece center right across the beautiful Savannah River. It is located on the other side of the river from the beautiful old European style city of Savannah! One can take the Ferries across the river or drive on the cool and high-in-the-sky Talmadge Memorial brigde. The convention center has a lot of rooms and hallways to host big conferences and meeting. The Westin Hotel is right beside the center and has nice golf area.

Visited for a conference. This place still looks appealing. The upkeep on the building, rooms, and decor has been great.

The Room at Common

This is the place you must decide to have your next private event in the near future. Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!

If I could give 100 stars, I would. Our experience at Common Restaurant (specifically The Room) was…read moretruly exceptional. We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.

We liked this spot so much we visited it twice during our two nights in Savannah…read more The octopus is delightful! The cocktails are spectacular. Charlie, the bartender, is awesome.

Solid choice for dinner but it was just ok overall experience. This was one of the few places I…read morecould find last minute dinner reservations on a weekend so that's a bonus. Ambiance is prohibition bar vibes so a little more rustic and casual. I was a bit annoyed by the hostess. We had a reservation for our party of 6 and arrived about 15 minutes early. I asked if we could grab drinks at the bar and she kept coming up with excuses on why we couldn't stand or sit in certain areas. Finally, I just asked her to come up with a solution because we had 15 minutes to kill and they didn't have a waiting area. Funny enough, she decided then to get our table ready. It was just odd. Our server was from Ukraine so she was efficient and fast. Not super friendly or chatty with us which missed the mark on Southern hospitality and made our experience feel cold compared to our previous dinner experiences in town. I don't fault her for it though as she did her job. We ordered an excessive amount of starters and some of the entrees. The stand outs for me was the crispy Brussels sprouts, roasted bone marrow, steamed mussels, and grilled octopus. Skip any of the bread options. They weren't even toasted. For entrees, we also decided to share them. The pork chop and NY strip were stand outs. We ended up sending back the halibut. It tasted mealy and freeze burnt. Skip the crispy Japanese eggplant. I was expecting a grilled dish and it was actually fried with a thick batter. Too heavy for my liking. Overall, we enjoyed our meal but not somewhere I am dying to go back to.
