Blueman group at Savannah Civic Center

This is a great theater that I will miss. They are tearing down the Civic Center after building the bigger Enmark Arena. This is probably the last event that we will see in the Civic Center. We had bought tickets for the Blue Man group almost 3 years ago for a March 2020 showing but the event was postponed twice due to COVID. I bought tickets as soon as they went up for sale and scored front row center seats in the pit area, which is ahead of normal seating. The Blue Man incorporate liquid paint in their percussion act and the pit was in the paint splash zone which required rain smocks!!! How fun is that? Unfortunately the Civic Center had removed the pit area for some reason so we had to be reseated. We were assigned 6th row, center which was still good seats but not as immersive as we had planned for. The Blue Man group was amazing!!! We saw them in Vegas and admit the show was a little better in Vegas. However I would buy tickets again for a local show. Their talent and percussion is a real treat. The civic center opened the doors a bit later than advertised. However we still had plenty of time to procure refreshments and find our seats. They sold popcorn, snacks and alcohol. They had one craft brew option which was nice as well as spirits. The prices are reasonable, but of course you don't expect a bargain at events like this. I look forward to Enmark Arena but will miss the days of the old Civic Center.

If you are going get there early to get a good parking spot. Very clean inside, very organized staff. Great show.

No pictures of the show please...

Great place, but the worst thing was the parking situation. Went to see Shen Yun. Mom has COPD and a handicapped plate. All the entrances to the lot were blocked off. I was super blessed that God left us a spot open that was fairly close. Doors opened at 1300. So give yourself 30+ minutes to find a spot. And if your not familiar with the area, it's easy to get lost with all the city squares and one way streets. Come equipped with coins. I also didn't like that people came in about 15 minutes after show started. It was rude to interrupt me, and the money I paid, fumbling around with you, because you can't show up on time and interrupt the isle to get to your seat. I'm missing some of the show because of you. If the show starts, and people don't arrive on time, lock the doors. No one can come in, just out to use the restroom. Otherwise, everything was great. Show was marvelous.

Ice skating was a blast!!! I enjoyed it, even though I'm a beginner. I truly loved it! Price was perfect and the staff was so friendly!! Support the city and stop on in

Funny as ish, thanks yelp !!!

Came here for the Mike Epps "Funny as ish" comedy show. Nothing wrong with the show it was done to perfection. But what I absolutely hated was that we paid $42 dollars for some super watered down drinks. My partner had a jack and coke and stuck with grey goose and pineapple juice. Even a beer in a can was 12 bucks. The people who are supposed to show you where to sit are don't know what they're doing. We were supposed to be closer but she sent us all around the entire arena before we found our seats, Also whoever is in charge of the media needs to get their ish together. I was in high school doing a better job projecting than whoever was doing it during the show. Anyways major shout out to yelp for the tickets you guys are awesome. We really laughed a lot more than we thought we would :)

Great, small venue. I always look forward to the Savannah Hockey Classic, that arrives every January for 2 nights, hosting the UGA Ice DAWGS, GT, UF, and FSU. Tickets are reasonable, as are the concessions, and it's so small that every seat is a good one. Also, fun people watching, won't lie. Dress warm, for the ice and enjoy the college players playing real hockey. TOO BAD WE CAN'T GET A MINOR LEAGUE HOCKEY TEAM HERE! It's in demand, as Saturday night's always sold out. P.S. Helpful hint, buy tickets at the box office, to save an exorbitant fee thru the online tix provider. (I saved $20 for 3 tixs!)

Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!

We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.
