My impression is that they handle basic sprinkler repairs, but I would not recommend them for irrigation problems involving electrical diagnostics. The work was expensive, the original problem was never fixed, and follow-up was poor. I hired them to address three issues: an "over current" error on one irrigation zone, a missing sprinkler head on a hillside, and uneven lawn coverage. They were initially responsive and scheduled the work within a week. During a half-day visit they replaced a valve they said was cracked, installed the missing sprinkler head, relocated several sprinklers, and upgraded some sprinkler heads. The cost was about $1,600. I was told the work was guaranteed for one year, but I never received a written receipt. Within days, the "over current" error returned. After repeated calls, texts, and emails over the next month, I finally received an automated appointment confirmation for a return visit. At the follow-up, the technician took only a brief look at the valve, searched Google on his phone, and suggested I simply let the solenoid burn out and replace it when needed. No testing was done at the controller or valve, the wiring was not traced or tested, and no diagnostic tools were used to locate the short. Instead, I was offered a quote for a $1,000 wire replacement. For me, the combination of high cost, an unresolved problem, and poor follow-up outweighed the quality of the basic sprinkler work.

The wiring of both the front and back systems was done perfectly, and I appreciated that part of the work. That said, if you have fruit trees or citrus in your yard, be aware that they do not have the expertise to handle specialized watering needs for those plants. The sprinklers near my fruit trees were set up incorrectly, and a professional arborist I later consulted told me the configuration would overwater the trees. I called OC Sprinkler Doctor to come back and fix the issue, but they never returned my call. Now I am in a position where I will need to hire a professional arborist who also can do landscaping to come back and fix the sprinkler system again, likely at a cost of $3,000 or more, when I am able to afford it. They are reasonably priced and capable of handling standard sprinkler lawn work, but the lack of specialized knowledge around vegetables, fruit trees and citrus trees, combined with the complete silence when I tried to get the issue resolved, may end up costing me far more in the end.
