Today was my first and last time here. The place fills up quickly because it's so very small. That said when we sat down, the waitress, TEE came over pretty quickly and took our order. After that, it went down hill. We asked for mild and was told MEDIUM IS MILD. However, my sister couldn't eat hers due to the seasoning being too spicy! I ate mine because I was hungry and just kept drinking water to cool off, but it was definitely spicy. When we told Tee, she was like "oh well" and went to her next table. The KOOL-AID WAS GREAT! On a sunny afternoon, my girlfriends and I had a strong taste for some seafood. We quickly remember there was a new seafood boil place located on the Westside of the city. Sad to say we were truly disappointed. When we walked in there were plenty of open tables (about 7-10), yet we were stuck waiting for 30 minutes in the hallway of a strip mall. Finally once seated, it took the server another 30 minutes to greet us and come take our order. The plus was that there were already menus on the table. Once we placed our order, the wait was extremely long for some boiled shrimp in a bag. Tables who later came after us were already receiving food and fast service. The anticipation grew, as after so long we were presented with bibs, time passed, then presented with paper for the table, time passed, then finally our food arrived (another hour of waiting for boiled shrimp) I had the shrimp po boy and French fries, both which were pretty good. As we were ordering we tried to place a carry out order. In which, we were instructed to wait as it would be "best" to order closer to the time we leave. The waitress was rude and very soft spoken. Her demeanor was nonchalant and non welcoming. She disappeared and then returned once a hour to accommodate us but failed to check in on our experience. Overall, the food was okay. My friends didn't really enjoy the crab legs and shrimp. They stated it lacked flavor and tasted like straight butter. With our experience with seafood places, i agree with their concern. If you're looking for a great place to talk and catch up, this is definitely the spot for you. They will take forever in the day, even at 1 in the afternoon. read more

I was very disappointed. I heard decent reviews of this place and looked forward to patronizing this establishment. My friend and I made arrangements to have dinner on Sunday, 5/30. We planned on meeting at 5pm due to some obligations. I decided to call the restaurant to see if they were taking customers and was told that due to it being a Sunday they closed at 6pm and sat their last customer at 5pm. Not wanting to be rushed eating but still hoping to support the establishment; we changed our personal plans to accommodate a 4:30 pm dinner time. Each of us having to drive a minimum of 35 mins from opposite directions to arrive at this restaurant. I arrived at the restaurant at 4:30 only to witness several wait staff employees sitting in the back of dining room. When the hostess/waitress met me she asked if I had a carry out order. I told her I did not and needed two for inside dining. She looked at me and said "we are closed and not doing dine in". I told her a couple of times that I called and was told seating was was open. The waitress looked confused and started to grab a menu but then repeated herself " we aren't doing dine in because we are closing the restaurant early. It's been slow all day." Allow me to mention that I was turned away in FRONT of another customer mind you. The fact that I was turned away AFTER I just drove 35 mins to arrive to a restaurant only to hear that they were unable to seat me BUT still taking carry-outs is confusing to me. The SAME kitchen that served take out was incapable of serving the dining room...maybe they have two kitchens ‍. What also didn't make sense is there were no signs backing this up and I saw a minimum of 6 waitresses sitting in front me! I waiting for my friend to pull up and we went to the Krazy Crab in Farmington. I won't be returning to give it a second chance. read more

Came here for lunch with my friends on a Friday afternoon. I was very excited because it was a new black owned business and I had to support! We wait about 10 minutes to be seated, then waited an additional 25 to be greeted by the waitress. The market prices for the food are posted nowhere in the restaurant so we had a few questions about the menu. When the server finally arrived and I asked if I could ask her a question, she replied "what" with the biggest attitude. She also failed to mention that they were out of seafood Mac, gumbo, and seafood pasta. Im not sure how they were out and they just opened an hour ago. 30 minutes after we ordered, the server came out and tied some bibs around our neck which made me excited. But then about 20 more minutes went by and she brought out the paper placemats. After about 20 more minutes, the hostess went to the back to grab our food. This restaurant does not offer appetizers so don't come here if you're starving. My stomach began to eat itself after 45 minutes. Anyways I got the hot saucey snow crab legs. The bag comes with chicken sausage, corn and potatoes which is a plus! The food was not very hot for it to be a "boil". The sauce just tasted like garlic butter. It wasn't spicy at all. The food was decent. The restaurant is cool on the inside, I really like the decorations and the music choice. When paying the bill, the server still had a nasty attitude. We chose Saucy Crab for several reasons. 1 reason being the excitement to try a new crab boil place that was only around the corner from our home. Well we visited NYE at 2pm. They had ran out of ice and seafood pasta. The waitress said they were going to get ice and I almost mentioned to get some pasta too. Just a suggestion We asked for silverware and got plastic forks, knives which is plasticware not silverware and we were dining in. Seafood boil was overcooked and unflavorful. Our waitress was vEr personable and was great in communicating that it will take a while. We also had okra and pop. Please be advised that the pop is a can. No free refills given here. Okay so let's talk about it! Let's start with the food! I ordered the king crab garlic butter bag and my friend ordered the Cajun king crab bag. The food was delicious, and the chicken sausage was a plus due to my dietary preferences! They give you enough food so you will leave full all at a reasonable price. Let's talk about the wait! Whew where do I start, but a word to describe it is busy! I arrived on a Saturday an hour before closing and barely got seated, and the kitchen closed 30 minutes before the actual restaurant closed. So I wouldn't recommend trying to go an hour before closing because it could possibly turn into a dummy mission that fails! Once we were seated we ordered right away because it was minutes before the kitchen closed and we were made aware that it was a longer than usual wait on the food (there was a party of 10+). Our waitress was very hospitable, even offering an appetizer while we waited for our food. The music is also good (90s and early 2000s r&b). Besides them being super busy and their early closing time this restaurant is a pretty good crab place! I got the chance to meet the owner and she was just as friendly as her staff (from the host to the busboys)! Main takeaways: Don't arrive an hour or less to closing and expect to be served, especially with a big party! If you give positive energy then it will be reciprocated! read more

My family and I went maybe a week prior to Christmas. It was a nice crowd not too busy. This was my first visit, but it wasn't my cousins. The time prior to the both of us coming. She didn't have a good experience, but since we were both aware of it being owned by POC we decided to give it another try and boy was I wrong. We come in and we are seated immediately. We were greeted by an older lady and she told us that our server will be right with us. She came maybe 10 minutes later and asked for drinks. She gives us the waters, but neglects to give us our drinks! It had been a minute since we had seen her and it was kind of hard to flag her down. She comes back and we order. I turn to my cousin and I tell her it's an eyebrow threading place right next door I'm going to go while we wait for our food. As I'm leaving out our servers tells the Hostess "it's her first time being here so watch her" . I was shocked and honestly disgusted! My fiancé and I went to this place back in late December for our anniversary and we wanted to support a black business. The food is very overpriced especially since crab is currently in season and the service was terrible. We spent close to $200 (for two) and the service makes you want to walk straight out. You do get a lot of food in the bag but in my case I could barely eat it because it was wayyyy too spicy. The spice level I got was not even suppose to be spicy and I confirmed with the waiter before ordering. I will not be coming here again. Okay so the first time I went was when they firstttt opened and it was super busy. We went an hour before closing and the waitress sat us down and gave us menus right away.
