Perfect location right on the river! Plenty of outdoor seating, and if you aren't for the sun, then the inside is pretty, too. In Wilmington, there are a lot of places to get a cocktail, and this isn't my favorite. I didn't like the featured choices but settled for a lemongrass mojito. It was fine but so sugary. We didn't order fries but saw a few tables with half-eaten orders, and they look like the frozen fries you can get at the store. If you're only offering fries, make homemade ones and make them great! They won't give you a glass of water, but instead, make you purchase a bottle. A plastic bottle. Smart. Happy to have finally tried it, but we won't be back.

This place is fabulous!!! Amazing location at the end of the Riverwalk. The staff and service are incredible. Their drinks are strong, so beware. But they will accommodate you if you ask to make it sweeter. They have indoor or outdoor seating and the music is on point. I am a millennial so I guess that's why I like the vibe, apart from other individuals reviews. It felt like a chill spot and I enjoyed my cocktails. Get sauced at Sauce'd and you'll be glad you did :)

We came on their opening day. You have to enter from the Riverwalk side and have your license scanned through a machine. There is both indoor and outdoor seating with 2 heaters. It is a pretty small space inside. Indoor seating has bar seating, 5 high table seatings of 3-4 stools each, and a sofa in the back. I liked the hooks at the bar and under the tables to hang my purse and jacket. I wasn't that impressed with the indoor design, the design didn't flow together. It also got very loud inside, where we had to yell at each other to be heard. There is a game machine by the bathrooms, but it would be hard to play it since it is in the way with the t as ble next to it. The menus are QR codes, listed at the bar and each of the tables. There is a QR code for the drink menu and a separate 2nd QR code for the fries menu. Our party tried the Good Vibes ($12, conviction bourbon, ginger-clove infused syrup, lemon) and Smokey the Pear ($12, bourbon, mezcal, pear purée, thyme-infused syrup, lemon), and Forbidden Fruit (cardinal gin, blood orange, lemon, maui hibiscus-infused syrup). Our party rated the Good Vibes and Smokey the Pear 3/5 and the Forbidden Fruit a 4/5. They didn't think the Good Vibes and Smokey the Pear drinks were anything special. The Smokey the Pear did come in a cute bear shaped glass though, garnished with fresh thyme twigs. There was no mocktail menu yet but they can make it so I asked for a mocktail that is not too sweet. My mocktail ($2) wasn't too bad, grapefruit flavored mixed with a carbonated drink. Sodas are available. Considering the only food they have are fries, they took forever to bring our fries out. The reason for the long wait was because the fries are made with an air fryer. We tried the waffle fries, which weren't very crispy. The portion size also wasn't very big, we had so much sauce leftover by the time we finished the fries. If you have 3 people or more, I would suggest getting at least 2 orders of fries. The fries come with 2 sauces of your choosing. We chose the house fry sauce, white truffle ketchup, and a 3rd garlic parmesan aioli for an additional $1.50. Apparently didn't found out to the end that we didn't get the white truffle ketchup, and got some other sauce. Well whatever sauce we got, it was really good and I liked it. The house fry sauce really didn't taste much different from regular ketchup, unless they messed up that too. The garlic parmesan aioli sauce was good. This might be worth a visit to hang out with friends over decent cocktails.

The Barbie girl cocktail was really good, however the service here was quite poor. The bartenders and waitresses were really unfriendly. The fries took a very long time to come out despite it not being that busy, and when they did come out a lot of the sauces were missing / wrong. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but I think there are much better places to get fries and drinks in Wilmington.

Tastes about as good as it looks :-/

Totally the wrong vibe for Wilmington. You can tell by the bouncers at the door & Miami Vice clubbing vibes that this doesn't fit in on the river walk Cocktails match the style - if you're into overly sweet and beachy cocktails then this just might be the place for you.

Bottom line: Sauce'd is one stop along the Riverwalk you want to make sure you visit. Awesome drinks, tasty fries with sauces, and staff that is welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They earned all five stars from me, a great find. The Deets: Enjoying the Wilmington Riverwalk, one of my Twitter contacts told me not to miss going by Sauce'd...so I made a point to look for it. Opening up mid afternoon, I went in and was enthusiastically welcomed by the staff. The place itself is modern but warm with a main bar, a few surrounding tables, a front lounge area, and plenty of outside seating along the Riverwalk itself. Great upbeat music fills the place, and not overly loud that you cannot enjoy talking to someone or hear your bartender...nice balance. Scanning the QR code provided, I saw a great assortment of house speciality cocktails, classic cocktail standbys, and drinks to entice and enjoy (please see my pics to get the visual on these treats). I started off simple with a Violet Beauregarde (with Chamboard, prosecco, and blueberries) and it was great. Next was the classic French 75 (gin, lemon, champagne) and it was awesome, and this coming from a non-gin drinker for the most part. One of my neighbors sitting at the bar ordered the Raspberry Beret and you just have to see the pic of it here to believe it. You may think the sauce in Sauce'd would be only from these great drinks but no, it is also from the fries they serve there with many choices of sauces to enjoy with them. Yes, the main snack here is fries and boy do they taste great...it may be around an hour or so after opening before the fries get going/available but they are definitely worth it and a perfect snack pairing with the drinks made here. You get two sauces included with your order of fries, and you fill out your fries and sauce selections on a small checklist and give it to them to make your order. I was very happy with my afternoon of drinks and fries. Along with the very welcoming and engaging staff (that remembered me the next day!), it all makes this stop along the Wilmington Riverwalk one you do not want to miss. Get there early, these guys get a crowd early and keep it going into the night. They definitely get all the stars from me!

Signature sauce + yuca fries + chipotle ketchup

What a fun concept for a cocktail + snack spot! My friend suggested we stop by as he loved the drinks but hadn't tried the fries. We ended up enjoying two orders to try even more sauces and so I could have my first taste of yuca fries - yum!! I must say, the opinion on sauces is largely individual. I just couldn't get past something funky about the truffle ketchup but my friend loved it. My top choice was the pesto Mayo - couldn't get enough! The chipotle ketchup had just the right amount of spice. Next time I hope to try their cumin ketchup because I've made it at home & know it's delish - plus they serve it warm. Would love to try the waffle fries at a future visit because they're always a favorite, but I must say the yuca fries exceeded my expectation. Thick yet pillowy soft, a crispy exterior with a fluffy interior. I'm not sure I could dine in again without ordering these again, and at least making one of my sauces be the pesto aioli (trust me and give it a try!) My cocktail was a blend of tequila, cucumber and grapefruit juice - well balanced in all flavors with a pure, refreshing taste. Service was friendly and relatively timely. *Take note of their house as it appears such details are inconsistent. We got lucky and dropped by after a downtown Sunday afternoon stroll that ended on the boardwalk.

The drinks and service was on point. The ambience was mad chill! Definitely recommend anyone to come out. Will be back again!

They lie about their hours. Tried to bring them thousands of dollars of business and they chose to go home early instead. #bankruptinnotime #theyhatemoney #theyhatecustomers. Save yourself some money and go to cook out instead.

Not the vibe I expected, but I still loved the drinks and will be back to try the fries & sauce! The look was very sexy and trendy with neon lights and velvet chairs. However the crowd when we went was 2/3 college students ready to party and 1/3 locals. It was an interesting mix of people and I would tend to want to go again earlier in the evening where it would be quieter and more intimate of a setting where you could sit and enjoy the curated drinks without wading through a standing crowd.

    Kelsey L.

So fun! Such a fun place to get drinks and yummy fries and sit by the water. My friend and I got 2 different kinds of fries and lots of sauce and it was as good as we hoped! Highly recommend when in Wilmington! They only have fries so it's not a good place for a full meal, but a great night time snack later in the evening!

This is a very interesting spot right on the riverwalk. As a family, we frequently like to walk on the riverwalk after our time at the Children's Museum, meaning we have our three year old with us. The reason I tell you this is because they do not allow children, anywhere on the property. So beware if you are with young ones... they ain't allowed. This is not something that I find to be crazy though and is completely understandable since they do sell liquor. We ended up going back when we were sans child and both got a glass of prosecco. The prices are reasonable and they have a menu of various fries, which is why I say it is an interesting spot. Fries and booze... honestly what more could you ask for. They have seating inside, but a lot of seating outside on the river walk. They were pretty busy, both times that we went, so get their early if you want a seat.

This is a must go to venue in Wilmington, nc. The attentiveness of Tif and jevaughn, and the remainder of their staff is very clear. This is my second time at this location and would definitely recommend for those looking for a refreshing cocktail by the docks. 5/5 Come get sauce'd

Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. Our group of friends ordered our entire meal at once and had just received our appetizers when a staff member abruptly came to our table and, in a very rude and confrontational manner, told us to "be quiet" because we were being too loud. We understand that restaurants have to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for all guests, and if our volume had become an issue, a polite and discreet request would have been completely appropriate. Instead, we felt embarrassed and scolded. The interaction left us so uncomfortable that one member of our party immediately asked for the check and told them we would be leaving before our entrées were even served. Rather than apologizing, showing any empathy, or attempting to salvage the situation, the staff simply brought the bill, set it on the table, and walked away. What was most disappointing wasn't being asked to lower our voices--it was how we were treated afterward. Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, even when an awkward situation arises. There was no apology, no acknowledgment that the interaction could have been handled better, and no effort whatsoever to make things right. Given the restaurant's reputation, we expected exceptional food paired with exceptional hospitality. Sadly, while we may never know how the main course would have been, the service ensured we won't be returning.

What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.
