Barbecue Chicken

This place is unassuming and is a part of YaYa brewing, though actually a separate business. The menu, while simple, is utterly complex. Having worked in the pizza industry for 15+ years I don't often choose it when I go out to eat, but the wife and kid wanted to try so I obliged. The service is quick and friendly and the YaYa beers are delish! This is a thick, Detroit style pizza and it is good!

Nom nom!!! Spice Dave's!

This might be my new favorite pizza in Spokane! I miss Rocky Rococo's and this is better! The Detroit style pizza is amazing with the crispy cheese crust, in our house we race for the corner pieces. But the best part of Detroit style pizza is everyone gets at least one side of that crispy crust. Our favorites are the Spicy Dave's and Hot Doug pizza, No Jabroni Pepperoni, and The Classic. Also added bonus...Wednesday is Bingo night! Fun and Pizza Together!!!

Chicken bacon pesto salad with dressing

Ordered from this restaurant one evening while visiting Spokane. Ordering online was simple and the estimated time for the order to be ready was very precise. When we arrived at the restaurant (early) they told us 5 more minutes and when it was ready a staff member brought it out to us! All of the people who we interacted with were kind and professional. The restaurant was busy, but we never felt like we were any less important than the diners who were eating in. The cheese pull on our Canadian bacon & pineapple was remarkable. The pesto chicken salad was awesome too! We will definitely be back.

Pizza was excellent. A little hard to find at first, but it's in YAYA's! People were friendly. Next time I'm going in to sit down and eat

Pizza Rita - 5 pounder pizza with ranch sauce instead of red sauce, no olives or green peppers. Not enough ranch sauce, but still tasty.

Pizza Rita

Review on July 16 for Pizza Rita at 201 N Pines…read more I ordered 3 of the 5 pounder pizzas. I'll start this review by saying that I probably would have given 5 stars if there had been more ranch sauce on the pizza I ordered it on. That was my biggest, and one of my only, issues with my order. Total Rating: 7/10 Price: 6/10. A bit on the expensive side, but they always have a deal where you can buy 2 pizzas and get 1 free, or buy 1 pizza and get another pizza 50% off. Despite this, they didn't skimp on the cheese or toppings on my free pizza. This place doesn't rely on constant advertisements like the big chains, but their good quality and consistent deal are what make me want to come back. Flavor: 7/10. Nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about! Cheese is uniquely creamy, especially right after heating. Toppings are relatively flavorful, at least more so than the big chains. Cheese: 7/10. At least on the 5 pounder (which comes with extra cheese), cheese is abundant! This pizza had plenty to satisfy a cheese lover with a big appetite. Sauce: 4/10. The red sauce is decent, better than some other places, and there was just the right amount on my pizza. However, on the pizza which I ordered ranch, there was hardly any ranch sauce at all! I could barely taste it! That definitely needs to be corrected. When I order ranch on a pizza, I want to actually TASTE the ranch! Toppings: 6/10. Toppings are abundant, and relatively flavorful. I didn't feel like I was missing anything. My only complaint would be about how on the 5 pounder pizza, you only get pre-selected toppings and you aren't allowed to switch one topping for another for the same price. Some of the flavors from the different toppings clash with each other somewhat, but the pizza is still quite tasty nonetheless. Crust: 8/10. The crust can make or break a pizza, and this one DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I'd say I'm a bit of a crust connoisseur, and this crust was better than I'd have ever expected it to be! It's made in a metal pan, and the edges have a lovely blackened crispness without being burnt. The crust doesn't taste low quality or cheap, has some substance, and is strong enough to hold up the heft of extra cheese and the many toppings on the 5 pounder. It also freezes and reheats very well, without just turning to rough charcoal. Satiety Value: 8/10. At least for the bulky 5 pounder pizza, it really lives up to that title by being a very heavy and very satisfying pie. I had plenty of leftovers when I was done, and froze them for the next time I wanted to have pizza. When I took the frozen slices out of the freezer, they reheated very well, and also tasted fantastic straight from the fridge. For people with a huge appetite, this pizza did not disappoint!

The atmosphere is really fun, there's things to keep the kids busy, TVs to keep the adult entertained, and just overall a fun environment. The service was fantastic. All the ladies that helped us out were amazing, referred to us by name which was a nice change. It was really great. We didn't wait too long for our food. It arrived fresh and hot and was delicious. We got fries, my daughter got a pepperoni bar pie (perfect for little eaters!!! And so cheap!!), our friends got the Honolulu hot Hawaiian pizza, we got Parmesan garlic wings, and the buffalo wings. Everything was so good. Their wings are the best wings in town, hands-down. And that pizza oh my God, I wish I had some more right now. We will definitely be going back.

The ambiance was loud, the…read morekids arcade, birthday parties, etc. The ambiance reminded me of a Chuck-E-Cheese type, retro kids arcades, kids running around the restaurant. The restaurant had a salad bar, large tables for big parties and a spacious dining area. There was a dedicated bar area, no minors allowed. There were lots of TVs playing sports, definitely a restaurant for any crowd. We ordered a large white pie and pepperoni pizza. The large pizza had 8 slices. My husband ordered a mug of blue moon. It took about half an hour to get the white pizza. We were almost done with the pizza, still waiting for the other one. My husband couldn't flag the server down for another blue moon for about 20 minutes. Another server got confused and tried to give another table our pepperoni pizza. The server took the pizza back to the kitchen and then came back to our table. It took almost an hour from arriving to get the second pizza. The white pie was overwhelmingly oily, too much cheese. The pizza was soggy and droopy because the cheese. The oil was dripping down our hands. The pepperoni pizza was better, classic and less oily/cheesy. The service was lackluster. There were only 2 servers, which was shocking for Sunday lunchtime. I would come back but not during the same time. The bill was $85. I didn't feel like tipping 20% after the service, but I did because I've worked in a restaurant before. I found it distasteful that there was an option on the menu, "round of beers for the kitchen $5." I tipped 20% that goes to the entire staff. I googled if that's a common menu thing at bars, it's not.

We tried the slice and soup combo, which is a great deal. I ordered a pepperoni slice with tomato basil soup, and both were delicious--honestly, the quality of the food was the highlight of the visit. The flavors were just as good as I've come to expect from Versalia. That said, the service felt a bit disorganized during our visit. I asked for a lemon Pellegrino but received a blood orange instead--nothing major, but it was one of the first small signs that things weren't quite as smooth as they could be, especially considering they were busy. We also ordered two cups of ranch (which you have to pay for), but only received one at first. After mentioning it, the staff did bring out the second, which we appreciated, but it added to the feeling that things weren't fully on top of details yet. The atmosphere itself is nice, with a clean, modern setup and a casual "order at the counter and bus your own table" style. I understand they're still new, and that can definitely affect how smoothly things run. Overall, the food is still excellent, but the service and organization could use a little more consistency. I'd still give them another chance, especially as they settle in.

Honestly, Wooden City really lives up to its hype. It's an upscale spot right in downtown Spokane,…read morebut still feels warm and lively instead of overly formal. Definitely one of the best-quality restaurants in the city, where every dish was thoughtfully made and packed with flavor. What we ordered: Starters: - Spring Salad: Super fresh and well-balanced. The snap peas were crisp, with strawberries added for sweetness, and the goat cheese + pistachios gave it a creamy, nutty contrast. The lemon & tarragon vinaigrette tied everything together with a light, herby flavor. - Jerk Cauliflower: Crunchy cauliflower with Caribbean spices with a creamy jerk sauce, good as a side Appetizers: - Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp: Really juicy and spicy from the Cajun spice. There's butter to dip in but I found it too greasy and prefer lemon instead. - Blistered Hungarian Peppers: Smoky pepper with some sweetness and savory from the sausage and cheddar. Served with a toasted focaccia that soak up all the sauce. Main dishes: - Chicken Schnitzel: One of the must-orders. Crispy, golden breading, super tender inside. The lemon & caper butter sauce added acidity and richness that elevated the whole dish. Yoy have to order extra because it's never enough for the table. Yes, it's that good. - Marbled Duroc Pork Chop: Another favorite . Juicy and tender, with 'nduja salsa brava bringing a spicy depth, while lemon tahini and marcona almonds added creaminess and crunch. I always missed tasting this dish like my first time - Beet Ravioli: Earthy and slightly sweet flavor, nice texture but I hate goat cheese so I'm not really a fan of this dish - Pesto Bacon Pizza: Delicious crunch, loved the combo of mozzarella and gorgonzola, kind of creamy with a bit of funk. Balsamic do help balance and gave it a sweet tangy flavor, or else it would be too heavy for me (yes, not a pizza fan) Drinks & Dessert - Not Mai Tai mocktail: very aesthetically looking drink, but a bit too sweet to my liking - Apple crisp: cozy and warm, with baked apple & pecan crumble and served with vanilla ice cream on top. Delicious ice cream. - Pumpkin cheesecake: My 3rd favorite of the night, I still dream about it!! Rich, smooth, and perfectly spiced, you shouldn't skip this!!! That said, I do have to take away a couple points for timing. Our foods took 45 mins to come out even though I had reservations and note the menu items via the email, and the wait time between each dish was also... very confusing. It broke the flow of our meal. But once the food hit the table, it was hard to stay mad, so I forgave them.

I feel like I just went to a dress rehearsal about a play about a group of friends who got together…read moreand said "How about we open a restaurant? That would be fun!" Tonight was just so strange. First, I had no idea who was an employee. There were two girls that were going around together over and over, they kept stopping at tables so I think they worked there...but they never had anything in their hands. Our server seemed to keep forgetting we were there. Or just forgetting she was employed in general. Seriously just not with it. She was very nice...when she remembered we were there. I will say the pizza crust tasted amazing. So many places that serve pizza think of the crust as just something to put toppings on, but this had great flavor. Sadly, it was rolled too thin and said toppings made it somewhat soggy. Caesar salad was ok. Romaine was really fresh and crisp and the homemade croutons were still a little warm. Very good. However, the dressing was rather bland. And when I asked for pepper for it, our waitress first had it in her head that I expected some kind of peppers on my salad. When she finally understood I meant black pepper, she went away. Eventually she returned. Not with a pepper grinder or a shaker, but a sauce bowl that had about 3 tablespoons of black pepper in it. I wouldn't use that much pepper if I cooked for myself for a week and used it with every dish. Had to ask for knives for some of people's meals. I will say the spicy lamb rigatoni was amazing, pasta just right and the sauce and flavor was peak. I am just not sure what to say, other than this was the strangest and most disorganized dining experience I have ever had. I think if a grown up showed up and brought the kids into line, this place would be amazing. Also, for what we paid, I expected to be wowed, not left wondering what I just experienced.
