Really disappointed with the service I got a glass of wine and a "picnic option" which wasn't well explained, the sever said it was a mix of salami and cheese with some crackers. The service is slow and it took 15 min just to get the bill, besides the time to be seated even though the place was pretty empty. I do not recommend and for sure I won't be back.

This has been my favorite bar to come to since I've been in town. The staff is stellar, the drinks are awesome and the music is always great. If I could only drink one place in Toronto, this would be it.

We entered and immediately were drawn to the gorgeous decor. The service is quick and knowledgeable. We are not very experimental but enjoyed browsing the drinks. We ended up ordering plain regular pints and the spinach and artichoke dip. Love this beautiful and comfortable establishment. Will return with friends!

Nice selection of Ontario craft beers, with a quartet rotating to break up the redundancy. Friendly staff and always open till closing time.

There was a Crosstown Craft Barbeque (CCB) popup that I wanted to check out. I did grocery shopping to roast a turkey for Easter and more. This popup started at 1 pm. I got here at 2 pm. I parked on the street. All parking spots in front and on the side of the building were taken up. I walked in and noticed the long line for CCB. I lined up. It was risky coming so late. This place has something like twenty different varieties of beer on tap. I got to witness this awesomeness while I waited in line. The bar was busy, especially with the Canada-Finland women's hockey game on. This bar-eatery-brewery is spacious. There is a lot of seating to accommodate popup and regular customers. Sure enough, there were maybe five customers in front of me when we got word that all meats were sold out. I was oddly not as disappointed as I should have been. I knew that my late arrival would have consequences. There were sides available, which made me happy. The owners felt bad about running out of proteins, so anyone in line got free banana pudding. I got the following items: - Smokey beans - Potato casserole - Banana pudding I paid for the first two items with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my items in a plastic bag. I was happy and headed to my car with my goodies. For lunch, I ended up going to Wendy's to get some protein to compliment my sides. I just realized that I went crazy for beans, as I got chili from Wendy's. The smokey beans lived up to their name. They were smokey. I loved them. It had three types of beans, either pork belly or bacon, and the best smokey sauce. The flavour was perfect. The potato casserole was excellent. It had cubed potatoes in a creamy sauce with green onions. It was like a baked potato, but without bacon and in casserole form. So good! The banana pudding was yummy. It was naturally sweet from the ripe bananas in it. I liked the nutmeg in the pudding with bread pieces here and there. Having this dessert made me happy. It was great stopping to check out Brunswick Bierworks with the CCB popup. I hope to return and try the menu at Brunswick Bierworks and have a beer. (146)

This will be a simple write up since we only went in for drinks…read more We decided on a few flights to try a bit of everything so we sat at the bar and were well taken care of by the bartender. The main two beers here are from Weihenstephaner(oldest active brewery in the world) a Hefeweizen and a Dunkleweizen both wheat beers. It's a very large space that was hosting a large birthday party when we were there.

I don't consider it as craft beer but I do have to say it is good beer. I have had Amsterdam beer at other restaurants and other pubs and usually it would be the cheapest beer (probably because it is a local beer). I got one of their signature can of beer the Indian Pale Ale: Boneshaker for B. B is a fan of beer and he loves trying beer from other places. Amsterdam Boneshaker is definitely better than all the IPA that you can find in BC locally and definitely better than many IPA (this is coming from someone who doesn't really like IPA). B said it has a floral flavor on top of the usual IPA taste and it is not that hoppy. So basically Amsterdam Beer has more to offer or a step up than the usual. It is not the best beer but still some pretty good beer they got brewing here. We had the Blonde before and we found it ok. It was not a bad beer but it was pretty average. Note that the Blonde is usually the discounted beer at happy hours at some restuarants or pub. We still need to try the other flavors.

Very nondescript outside facade - no sign telling you what it is other than a small "BSC" (for Bovine Sex Club) painted near the door. Hard to miss though as the exterior is made up a punk rock style sculpture of rusted bikes & other assorted ephemera. The interior is similar, visually. Great sound system & chill vibes pervade throughout. Weirdly the stage is right in the entrance of the club, on your left, with a long bar along the right side, heading back. Great, crowd, great location in cool area with lots of restaurants & plenty of parking - both on the street up to 2 hours & extended parking for a flat-rate of CA$20 (~$14 USD) from 6:00pm until the next morning, just 2 blacks away.

Are the beer cans running out? It's possible. But, it's a dive in the way of the old dives. And the acoustics for bands are... not great. But they are a sign of what once was. Without attempting to try to present a front of a time long gone, The Bovine simply exists today as it once did in that time long ago, before Smokes stickers, before iPhones, back when people would just go to a bar to talk with those they didn't know the morning prior. Bring cash though, unless you're looking to make some big orders, because credit card is a minimum fifty-dollar spend.
