Classy clean dim lit restaurant with superior service. Lobster Thermidor was divine. You can taste the natural sweetness of the lobster. The cheese and mashed potatoes made the fish so filling I was stuffed. Crawfish carpaccio was different but I wish the it was more thinly sliced it was a bit slimy. I loved the spread they brought out in the beginning. You almost don't need an appetizer it was nice to nibble on and very unique.

When I pulled up to Satyricon in Ipanema, the experience set the tone right away. Walking in, they parade you past a showcase of their seafood with some live in water and others on ice. Lobster tails, jumbo prawns, clams, and cuts of fish all hit you before you even sit down. The Michelin stickers on the door from past years remind you this is not just dinner, it is dining. I started with the clams. The waiter came back after my order and asked if I wanted the larger clams or the smaller ones. I could not decide so he had the chef send out a mix. They came bathing in a garlicky buttery broth with a side of bread that was perfect for dipping. The broth was so good I caught myself sipping spoonfuls of it after the clams were gone. Then came the seafood platter with lobster, jumbo prawns, and langoustine. They bring out a pot of clarified butter laced with garlic chips and when that golden drizzle hits the shells it takes the dish up a level. They also give you a warm bowl of water with lime and a napkin to clean your fingertips, a nice touch that keeps it refined. For my final main I went with the lamb chops. They came out tender and cooked right, laid simply over greens. The only thing missing was mint jelly. The chef improvised with an apricot sauce that had a little spice but it did not really work for me so I skipped it. The lamb itself carried enough flavor to stand on its own. To drink, I left it in the bartender's hands. I told them to pair something with the food and he came back with a cocktail that was spot on. It was smooth, balanced, and cut through the richness of the seafood and lamb perfectly. Service was excellent. I have seen reviews where people said they felt brushed off as foreigners but I did not get that at all. They made me feel like I was the only person in the room, attentive without hovering, and pacing the dishes just right. The bill was not light. Between the seafood platter, lamb chops, drinks, and extras it added up quick. This is one of those places where you know exactly what you are paying for. Fine dining, fresh seafood, and a little ceremony built into the meal. Satyricon gave me a dinner worth remembering. I would go back.

Lovely seafood restaurant in Rio. I loved the mussels in white wine sauce. My seafood fantasy was just okay. Minimal flavor and the fish was overcooked. There is so much delicious food in Rio that I don't think this would be one of my picks again but I did enjoy it. Service was good and cute narrow space.

You walked past this when you walk in so you can see what their fresh selection is and you can choose something from there

We had the calamari I had oysters then we shared the lobster and spaghetti for lunch. Then we had a dessert. The nature do you António was just so nice and friendly the service is top-notch. The food is top-notch.

Not worth the hype at all. The restaurant is nice but stuffy. They'll ask if you want bread and you say yes they will bring a spread of appetizers. It was good but we didn't want it and it ended up being too much food overall. Bread and olive oil are customary in Rio so this was the only restaurant where we had this issue. The beef carpaccio was amazing! Highly recommend it. Sadly, both our fish entrees left us disappointed. They were fresh but had zero flavor compared to all our other meals in Rio. At the price point (30-40 usd) it was not worth it. And aside from price, they weren't enjoyable to eat. I had high hopes for this place but for an expensive dinner it completely missed the mark. The drinks were also average compared to other (less fancy) places.

I am actually surprised this is not a across the board. This restaurant has won the best seafood restaurant in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro Brasil. Granted the food takes a while to come out. I think we have waited over an hour to get our food. However, the wait was totally worth it. This place won the best seafood restaurant in Rio

Very fresh seafood, and the service is great. There are variety of seafood to choose from you can see the fish on the counter when you walk in. The waiters speak English so it makes it easy to communicate. We had the grill shellfish for two which is about $100, it comes with a lot of food including two lobsters, shrimp and langoustine(which I think they call it crayfish) the grill is lightly seasoned with salt so you get to taste the natural flavor of the seafood itself.

The service was great, seating was easy even though I didn't have reservations, they have a beautiful vast menu. I enjoyed my shrimps very much

    Grouper in caper sauce

Very high end seafood restaurant. Great service at a reasonable cost. Food was good. We were in a large party and everyone spoke highly of their food. I had the grouper in a caper sauce with shrimp. I was very good. I would say I reduced the rating because the fish had a strong flavor indicating it wasn't as fresh as I would like.

This is a very expensive restaurant given the prices in Rio but the food did justify it, at least mostly. They start you off with a large number of small appetizers even if you don't ask for it. Be aware this is part of the cover charge which is unusual here and is a very steep $8 US per person. That would cover an entire meal at many other places. We got the grilled lobster which at $50 US was expensive but definitely worth it. It's a very meaty entire Caribbean spiny lobster. The tortellini were ok. Some of our friends got fish dishes which were very good as well. Decent sized portions.

Grilled fresh langoustines with a side of seafood risotto. Freakin delicious !

Nummy italian food! Nothing like a big bowl of hot spaghetti! The pizza wasn't as great, though. The portions are huge, so get ready.

The entrance is elegant, you go up the stairs and the music gets louder. The place is big, so crowded, each table beside the other one. The deco is elegant too. From the moment we sat down the noise was unbearable, I could not hear a single word my boyfriend was saying!! The waiter was very nice and attentive to us. But, I have to say we waited 45 minutes por the appetizer!!! And after that, we waited 45 more for main course. We were really angry. But the worst fact was that the food was cold! So rude. After finishing our dinner, music went a little bit louder and people starting dancing on the tables! It was really fun. We ended up leaving with a smile and a few dancing moves. I suggest you come directly at 11pm for a drink and some dancing. Skip dinner that is not worth it at all.

Once again, I was delighted by the food and the ambiance (where else can you sit in the city next to a park and looking straight at Cristo Redentor! The service was just as wonderful as I remembered. They recommended drinks (caipirinha de caçu) and the cuts of meat (always picanha for me)! We started with a nice assortment of break and accompaniments. The picanha was full of flavor and just the right amount. The side of palmito that was baked with cheese and nuts was out of this world!. Of course, a picanha isn't complete without farofa (we had the egg farofa). And to top everything off a pistachio petite gateau with raspberry sorbet...amazing! Once again, I have a reason to remember this spectacular place and to come back to Rio. Thank you!

They were tender but also seemed not slow roasted as they should be. They were finished with a decent demi-glace that didn't belong there. The puffed potatoes that came where somehow off, unfortunately. And the desert, a simple Brazilian style flan, was also poorly executed. Certainly subpar for the price and the high expectations I had from this brand.
