There seems to be a large quantity of Brazilian, Italian, and seafood restaurant-with a peppering of Thai and Spanish-but not much else. So when I came upon this newly- opened Greek place I decided to try it. Of course, it wasn't busy at all, however, there were 3 other full tables of patrons which probably found it by walking the street. It's tucked into a little corner, but it should get more business in the future because it's next to a popular ice cream place. I ordered a glass of red wine and a beef gyro plate. It came with shoestring fries and had tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, and green leaf lettuce inside (as well as top choice beef). The gyro was yummy! I ate it with a fork and knife because it's uncommon to eat with your hands here (sanitary reasons). The fries gave me a little hassle (have you tried to eat fries the size of fork tines with a fork?!). The service was great; very attentive server who even found a menu in English and asked me (via Google Translate) if I was here for carnival. He was very sweet and even gave me suggestions on places to go. All in all, for a brand new place they are starting out right! Good luck!

They recommended drinks (caipirinha de caçu) and the cuts of meat (always picanha for me)! We started with a nice assortment of break and accompaniments. The picanha was full of flavor and just the right amount. The side of palmito that was baked with cheese and nuts was out of this world!. Of course, a picanha isn't complete without farofa (we had the egg farofa). And to top everything off a pistachio petite gateau with raspberry sorbet...amazing! The counter includes bottles of lemon juice, Arabian pepper sauce, and molho de ajo(garlic sauce), or in my case, all three. Tips: practice your Portuguese. All of the workers are monolingual, but I was happy to push myself and get my orders right.( I did make one of the counter clerks laugh when I said não sei.) If you eat at the counter, you'll rub elbows with locals as they enjoy a quick lunch. Tip 2: no food photos. I didn't get a pic of our meal because I would have been the only person pulling out my phone.

(I took a star away for this reason only) After reading mixed reviews beforehand, I wasn't sure what to expect, but we were treated very well. The staff struck a great balance, attentive without being intrusive and were very accommodating throughout the evening. The bill was also clearly itemized and easy to understand, which is always appreciated for a large group. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and not pretentious. The owner or manager was welcoming and the server friendly, although what I really care about is the food. I ordered a "salada de endívia, gorgonzola e noces" (endive salad with gorgonzola and walnuts), which was the best I've ever had. Next came the main course, penne arrabiata, served al dente. The tomatoes in the sauce were fresh and flavorful. Dessert was classic Brazilian, not Italian, a "creme de papaya" (papaya blended with vanilla ice cream, topped with black currant cassis), but as they were out of papayas, it was replaced iwith mango. Absolutely superb. Only negative was the men's room, whose floor was wet. (Unclear if it was water or something else, hopefully the former.) I didn't order alcohol, only água mineral sem gas. Total bill was R$99, about US$31.50 (R$90 for food and R$9 for service). I will return as often as I can.
