We live outside of Philly so it may be that we're just used to better quality. The salmon sashimi was warm. The gyoza and shumai were deep fried not pan fried. I couldn't even eat the gyoza. The spicy tuna rolls were covered - literally drowning in extra spicy mayo sauce. And the other two sashimi we ordered just didn't even smell good so we couldn't eat it. We came here on a trip to Great Wolf bc we wanted something other than the resort food offerings. This place is cozy and we were seated in front of a beautiful fireplace. Our waitress was very attentive and really helped us feel at ease as our toddler was making a bit of a mess on the floor. She brought us drinks & refills in a timely manner and had our food out as soon as it was ready. We got chicken teriyaki for our kids and they loved it. We decided to pop into Satto Sushi on a whim to try out their Asian fusion. We came in and it seems like the restaurant was short staffed because the three young people looked super stressed. We were sat in their main dining area which really lacked ambiance. The tables were put in the room in odd spots (including one right in front of the fireplace blocking the main focal point). There was barely any other decor in the room (not even some music playing), which made it feel out of place for a Asian spot. We decided to order the KPOP spicy wings as an appetizer and they were delicious. Very crunchy and not too spicy, a nice combination with the kimchi they gave us for the table. For entrees I got the Yaki Udon with beef, which was also very tasty. My only compliant is that it was a really small portion and very oily. Hubby got the Bulgogi (Korean Style Marinated Beef) with rice. He really loved this plate. The portion was a bit small as well, especially for the price of $24. Overall, the meal was solid. We did not order any sushi, but it looked good. I think our experience was not as great since the staff seemed overwhelmed that day (maybe because it was late), so we may come back and give them another try. read more

Sushi and Korean food restaurant close to Great Wolf and Camelback. Driveway and parking is rough, small, and vest to find a spot in front of the defunct tobacco shop next door. Inside, a counter with several seats, four small 2-person tables and a round table that will seat 3 to 5. Tea and water readily available and a fridge full of drinks for you to grab. The dragon roll, skip as the eel is dry and like the one I make out of the bag from the grocery. The shrimp tempura isn't flaky, it's heavy and oily. The bibimbap is good, and they'll give you a bottle of red spicy sauce to add as much as you'd like. Get extra beef if you like that. The kalbi (Korean ribs) were overcooked and some pieces burned. The udon soup was nice and simple, group enjoyed two of these. Single bathroom, and relatively clean and a different flavor from the resort. Some good dishes and some not as good. Wow wow WOW! This place has FANTASTIC sushi! As New Yorkers, we were over the moon impressed with the spread Satto Sushi made for us over the weekend, and the variety in their menu makes everyone ordering very happy! We ordered a variety of sushi rolls that are our usual common staples - spicy tuna, spicy salmon, crab roll, Boston roll, shrimp & chicken tempura, and yellowtail with scallions. For the special rolls, we decided on the Haru roll, the mango tango roll, and the Midori rolls. We saved our whole order so when we visit again, we are ready to go! We ordered over 12 rolls, and they told us 25-35 minutes! In New York, that would have easily been closer to an hour wait. The quality blew our minds, and the freshness is amongst the best of the best we've had in a long time. These rolls have plenty of fish and aren't loaded with rice like some other sushi places. Everything was packaged carefully for take-out, and enough soy sauce to dip until our hearts content. Satto Sushi should be your ONLY choice for sushi in the Pocono area! read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM with a party of 6. The parking lot here is very small and you may have to park further down the shopping strip. This is a really quaint little restaurant. The decor makes you feel like you're really in Japan. However, the restaurant itself is small. There are only 2 large tables that hold 6 people and then one small table that holds 4 people otherwise you will be sitting at the sushi bar. This restaurant seems family owned and really gives you that personal touch. I ordered the beef udon along with a Mindori roll. The udon broth was very tasty although I couldn't directly pinpoint the origin of flavor. There were a lot of udon noodles but hardly any beef. Probably only had about 5 pieces of thin beef along with a few vegetables but what can you expect for $11. The Mindori roll had too much sauce on it in my opinion. Due to the overflow of sauce I could barely taste any of the tuna or salmon inside the roll. My cousin got the spicy tofu soup and said it could use some more salt for taste. Overall, the food tasted pretty authentic and wasn't too far from the Kalahari resort which is where we were staying. Will probably return back on our next time here. read more

My friends and I ordered takeout from Satto Sushi while visiting the area. I was excited to try out their vegetarian rolls because they had some variants I haven't tried at other sushi restaurants. They charge $1 for a 4oz container of spicy mayo, which I was unimpressed by. I placed an online order for several rolls and upon completion, it said our order would be ready at a specified time. My friend went to pick it up and ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes because they were catering for other customers. Not a huge deal since that didn't put a damper on our eagerness for local sushi. The seaweed salad was delicious and well-balanced, a staple for any good restaurant. I was very disappointed when I opened a large container that housed all of the sushi together. I'm not sure why so many restaurants feel it's proper to combine vegetarian and fish rolls together, this shouldn't even be a thing. Vegetarian rolls shouldn't be combined with meat ones and really, there's no harm in putting them in separate containers. As for the sushi itself, I was not impressed. I ordered kimchi rolls that for whatever reason had tempura on them, so I had to cut the sushi in half and eat what was edible. The vegetarian rolls were very sloppy and didn't have any type of uniformity, so it didn't even look good. My friends were also uninterested in their rolls, and many were discarded, so it was a complete waste of our time ordering from there. read more

My family and I came here after snow tubing in the area since we were craving some Asian food, specifically sushi. We were seated right away once we came in and the server was lovely. The atmosphere was warm and very homely, but the restaurant was very quiet. We ordered three sushi rolls (playboy roll, dragon king roll, and a spicy salmon lovers roll), spicy pork bibimbap, K-pop honey mild chicken wings, and garlic parmesan chicken wings. Overall, the dishes were alright, nothing special about any of them. Our biggest qualm was the price of the dishes. The sushi rolls all tasted very nice. The spicy salmon lovers roll blended together very well, but was overwhelming after a while. The playboy roll's sauce was good, no complaints here. However, the cream cheese on the dragon king roll became overwhelming after a while. Coming from NYC, the chicken wings were very subpar. Firstly, they had come out on the colder end and the garlic parmesan, in particular, was soggy. Second, we knew that there would only be 5 wings, but they were all pretty small given that we had paid $10 for the dish. The spicy pork bibimbap was also alright and overwhelming after a while. I tried Satto Sushi during the week and had their takeout for lunch. They have a lunch special where you can get two rolls for $13.95 so I got two salmon rolls and their salmon avocado roll. It was my first time coming here, so I had to park on the side of a large hill on the side of a highway to park outside the restaurant.... kind of dangerous but a lot of restaurants are like that here in the Poconos. When trying to leave the restaurant, be careful. When I arrived my order was ready and they were friendly. I asked for a spicy Mayo sauce on the side and they charge $1.00 extra for that. And it's a small container. I'm already spending close to $20 for my food but thanks for nickel and diming me. I went home and had the sushi. Each roll comes with 6 pieces. They pieces are small, there's a lot of rice and a tiny amount of fish. They also don't include soup or salad with their lunch special. So, I had high hopes for this sushi restaurant due to them having higher reviews. Satto sushi was just alright but I've experienced better sushi with better deals in the area. read more

Prior to placing my order I asked to waitress if the ramen was vegan friendly which she told me the veggie ramen was. A few bites in I notice pieces of what looked like pork. Pretty disgusted I addressed the matter to then she explains the ramen is in fact Packaged soup and that it contains pieces of meat!! I also thought the ramen was made fresh anyone could purchase a pack of noodles in the grocery but here they charge you for pack noodles as if it were prepared fresh. My friends and I went to Sunset Hill Shooting Range nearby and after going Rambo, we decided to eat lunch nearby. After looking through Yelp at our food options, we decided to settle for Satto, as it was only a 10 minute drive away. This place is TINY! It's located in a strip mall, so there's very limited parking. Inside, there's maybe 3 tables. They have a decent size menu for such a small place. My friends and I were definitely a bit skeptical on how fresh the fish here is..so we didn't order any sashimi platters or anything with large pieces of fish in int. Instead, we just opted for hot dishes from the kitchen. My friends ordered the chicken teriyaki with rice and I opted for the hwedupbap, which is basically diced raw fish over rice. Food came out pretty quickly. My friends' chicken teriyaki looked 100x better than my messy hwedupbap..My dish was unlike any other hwedupbap I've ever had..lol Miniscule pieces of tuna, salmon, a few sticks of imitation crab meat, lettuce, and avocado over rice. Flavor overall was pretty bland; I had to use a lot of soy sauce to adjust the flavor to my liking. Overall, not bad for a quick lunch. Service was pretty much non-existent. Food was mediocre. Amazing find! The outward appearance of the restaurant does not do it justice. As a local Asian American Hawaiian, I'm very cynical about Asian fusion restaurants and find that usually means they aren't good at either of the cuisines they're fusing. This place was amazing with both Korean dishes and sushi. Some personal observations that made me really confident in the food were the following: the listing of Korean dishes in Korean. Dishes like soon du bu, jap chae, jigae are all typical Korean dishes. When we sat down, they served kim chee and daikon radish for free. The kim chee was excellent. We weren't disappointed by dinner either. I particularly recommend the yachae pajeon, gyeranjjim, kalbi. My family also enjoyed the soon du bu and all their rolls. The servers were also all excellent. If you're in Tannersville, please stop by here so they can thrive and spread good Korean food in the area! read more

Stayed at a vacation rental where takeout options were extremely limited. We took the risk and decided on Satto Sushi for dinner on our first night, since nobody felt like cooking after a 3 hour drive. The sushi was mediocre, nothing to write home about. We ordered a party platter that cost $125 plus several chicken teriyaki over rice, and Korean dishes such as japchae, soon tofu and bibimbap. Food wasn't exceptional but met our Poconos expectations. If in NYC or SF, this restaurant would be more a 2.5 or 3 star sushi spot, but I have to give them extra props considering their location. We had the two roll and special roll lunch special for 13.95. We got two California rolls and a rainbow roll. The rice and ingredients were good, but I preferred the California rolls to the rainbow roll. The cuts of fish on the rainbow roll were okay but not the best cut or freshest I've had. The ramen tasted pretty much the same as what you'd get from a package from the super market, but they did add extra veggies and egg. The udon was more notable with a nice sweet dashi stock and springy noodles. The beef bulgogi was a good price but a the flavor was a bit too sweet for me and the slices were not as thin as I usually like my bulgogi. The rice was perfectly cooked, which is always very important to me! We will definitely be coming back next time we're in the neighborhood! read more

My husband had the bulgogi and he said it tasted good but the portion size left him really hungry. I really enjoyed the dolsot bibimbap with bulgogi but I was expecting a raw or fried egg on top, but no. The portion size was great and I loved the crisped rice on the sides of the hot stone bowl. Amazing place that is a definition of a family run place. Basically when you come you see Husband and Wife team working the restaurant with a little bit of help. The place if you didn't know about it from outside looks like a nothing special thingy in a little shopping center that looks more like a doublewide then a shopping center. Inside you would find a little place with may be 5 tables and kitchen in the back but all the dishes are crafted with care like you would for your guests at home. Fish is fresh as can be, not terribly diverse selection, but very tasty, the Korean dishes are the definition of deliciousness and while the place is small and mostly works for take out the service while you visit is excellent. I love that it's a family owned and run business but it does lose a certain sense of customer service in that way- but only a little. What a great hidden gem! My husband and I love finding cozy family Restaurants and this is definitely one! It is very small inside with only 2-3 tables plus some seatings by the sushi bar, but it offers so much. The owners are Korean so they've got quite a bit of both Japanese and Korean dishes on the menu. We had our 2 yr old daughter with us and they had an adorable highchair for her to sit in (pink funny monster). They also have a blue one for boys. We were the only customer dinning this Thursday night. We had the Sushi & sashimi deluxe​, yaki udon, and Korean pancake. The fish were incredibly fresh, the udon my daughter almost finished by herself because she loved it so much (and we wished it was a bigger portion since it was so good), and the Korean seafood pancake was perfectly done. We don't have anything bad to say about this place. If we live here, it would be our go-to for sure! read more

Satto was second to none. Everything was fresh and tasty. I ordered the sushi for 3 combo, Spicy yellowtail roll and Volcano roll. Mackerel, shrimp, tuna, salmon, freshwater eel, all pieces melted like cotton candy. I had some reservations driving 40 minutes from Lords Valley but it was worth the trip and I plan to go again in a few days. The inside of the restaurant was clean despite there being no table service due to Covid unfortunately. The food they were cooking smelled sensational. I wish I could have stayed and got the full experience. I work in NY across from Blue Ribbon sushi and Satto was as good as anything I've ever gotten in the city. With all the roadwork going on, you might miss this little hole-in-the-wall. If you do find it and enter this restaurant, you'll find a whopping 22 seat dining area (including the bar area). We went here while staying at Great Wolf Lodge (about a 5-minute drive). We are Korean and figured that this area would be starved of Korean food. However, my online search discovered this gem. It's a Japanese restaurant, owned by Koreans, with a substantial Korean menu. We went mostly with Korean dishes, but everyone else was enjoying Japanese fair. While I wouldn't rate this as THE best Korean food we've ever eaten, it was very good and authentic. We liked it so much that we went back the next day! Dishes we ordered that we liked a lot: shrimp tempura appetizer, bibimbap, jap chae, samgyupsal (although the pork belly was a little thinner than I like), crab & avacado salad, bulgogi (lunch special). I also ordered the ramen lunch special, but I think I'll pass on that next time. Also, the shrimp tempura came with 5 shrimp. My two sons were fighting over the last shrimp and their bickering threatened to ruin our lunch.
