2 special rolls: tiger dragon roll, dragon roll
Celena C.

Very decent Korean and sushi restaurant in the area. I wasn't expecting much when searching up Asian food to eat in the area and found this place to have pretty good reviews. It didn't disappoint. The entire restaurant was humble but lovely. I liked the cozy interior, the selection of food was great, and the wait staff were friendly, experienced, and efficient. The sushi wasn't bad. The rice to filling ratio was good (there wasn't too much rice), and I thought the rice was cooked perfectly (it was on the firmer side, which I like). We ordered the Dragon Roll, Tiger Dragon Roll, Eel Avocado, Salmon Avocado, Salmon Dragon Roll. They were all good and as expected. Love that they have several combo sushi menu items like "2 rolls," "2 rolls and 1 special roll," "2 special rolls," etc. We also ordered the Avocado Bomb appetizer, which wasn't bad. It had a lot of sauce, and anyone who likes special sushi rolls (which usually come with more sauce) or California Rolls would love this. It's basically a California Roll without the rice and seaweed. We also ordered a hot stone bibimbap, which wasn't bad but wasn't great, I'd say. The rice like the sushi rice was cooked perfectly, but the whole rice dish felt like it was missing some key flavors even after having the gochujang sauce mixed in. I think it was because the veggies weren't pickled veggies, and it was lacking some seasame oil that bibimbaps usually have. The Bulgogi beef was normal/good though. Not the worst bibimbap I've had, but could've been better. It was still satisfying, and it came in a good portion. The LA Galbi also wasn't bad, but it was pretty salty / had a bit too much sauce for my liking. Not the best, but also not the worst galbi I've tried. Overall, I had a very satisfying meal here, and I would definitely return if I ever was in the area. The staff really are homely, and everything (the staff, ambiance, food quality and selection) just made for a comfortable dining experience.

I really wanted to enjoy the food here, despite some of the reviews. I unfortunately was disappointed. We ordered Ramyun with added beef and bibimbap in a stone pot. The Ramyun noodles literally taste like it came out of an intant to go packaging coupled with a little packet of dust artificial flavoring. The bibimbap was dry and bland. It taste was equivalent to frozen ingredients left out to thaw at room temperature without any spices. I've had my share of bibimbap (mostly from Flushing and Korean Town in New York) so I have a fair expectation for it's crunchy and luscious, sweet and spicy with hints of pickled and fermented flavors. This didn't come close. The wait staff on the other hand were super attentive and friendly, for that reason alone we left a hefty tip. The environment is family friendly and appears to be clean.

This is the Sushi A, Bulgogi, and the La Galbi, and we also got the green tea ice cream after which was amazing as well.

The Food was beautifully made and placed onto the dishes, the service was very amicable and very attentive, the ambiance of the location is very elegant and homey and familiar feeling which was amazing to sit in and enjoy your food with, would definitely come again and recommend.

The building may be a throwback to the cheesy 70s of the Poconos, but it is all Korean and Japanese when it comes to meals. I ordered sushi and was thrilled with their version of the Philadelphia roll (salmon, cream cheese, and avocado). However, none of the sushi I had purchased really stood out. I was looking forward to mackerel sashimi, but it was dry and seemed to be oddly smoked in some way. The service was excellent but Sarah Street and Yusan in Stroudsburg have stronger, fresher flavors.

Love this place! This is our birthday spot. They have delicious rolls and the sashimi is is always fresh when we order! I recommend the party platters for groups! Even small groups...there's never leftovers!

Spicy pork dolsot bibimbap, pork tonkatsu ramen, soy garlic wings
Ashley H.

I think the rating for this place depends on what you order. The spicy pork dolsot bibimbap was pretty good with a little gochujang sauce. The rice was crispy on the bottom. The soy garlic wings were also crispy and the sauce was great. Those were 4 stars. The ramen with pork tonkatsu literally tasted like it was instant ramen from a package and the pork tonkatsu was dry and some pieces had a soury taste. That was a 1 star.

The service was exemplary! The food was overpriced. The chicken Katsu was so small for $20. I couldn't believe how little of food you get it was overcooked and it didn't taste good at all even with the extra sauces. The miso soup was delicious. the sushi rolls were delicious all in all. I definitely will go back but not order the Katsu.

2.5 stars Ordered a bunch of rolls with some special rolls and couple of hand rolls. Bottom line, the fish was not fresh, very dry and chewy. The bbq special roll was ok and the shrimp tempura rolls are also not bad. But I don't recommend anyone going for their sashimi.

La galbi
Kansy D.

The food is good, hot and freshly prepared. La galbi is very tender and tasty, Bimbap is pretty average, the ramen is somehow very bland for my liking, the beef noodle is good. Great service thats for sure, our server is very attentive and nice, we like the ambience of the place homey style and doesnt feel crowded.

K-Pop Soy Garlic wings

It's strange going into the old Amber Inn for Korean food, especially since we were there 3-5 times a week in the mid-late 80s!!! But alas the Amber is no more, though its spirit remains in the not much-changed interior, down to the stained glass bearing the former name. We were very promptly greeted and seated. Note this place is a BYO, so no cocktails (extra strange considering how many we used to imbibe there). So soft drinks were in order- my husband was disappointed when the iced tea came in a bottle of Pure Leaf vs fresh brewed, but our terrific server suggested he try a canned green tea instead which was apparently good because he had two! Kimchi and radish offered immediately upon being seated, and replenished promptly when we quickly finished. Husband got sushi - his usual sushi order. We shared the K-Pop soy garlic wings, joking that we are a perfect couple since he prefers the flats and I prefer the drumsticks LOL. The wings were very crispy and the sauce was savory. I ordered the Yook Gae Jang after consulting with the knowledgeable server regarding the Korean specialties. It was delightfully spicy and well-loaded with shredded beef, scallions and other ingredients, plus a side of rice to add. Would get this again. Husband had the beef udon, which Insampled and the noodles were heavenly and hearty. Food was well-prepared and came out very quickly, which was ok for us since we weren't looking to spend a long evening out. Our server was fabulous and I regret that I did not get her name. Well-versed in the menu, attentive and thoughtful- she offered us extra banchan to take home which we happily accepted!

Food and service were both great. Very good comfort food for a cold day

I, and my group, had never seen a hibachi place with seats that are behind the chef and where you cannot see anything. What's the point of hibachi if you're not able to watch the chef? Then, you're crammed into the seats like a pack of sardines. Looking at the menu, the drinks do not have any prices. Our waitresses came around and took our drink orders, they kind of jumped around the table a little - taking order from half of my party and then jumping to one of the tables behind the chef stoves, then back to us. My husband orders a Strawberry Daqauri. I order a Pina Colada Daqauri and a water. Both of these are non-alcoholic. (This information is important for later) Drinks are brought out. It took roughly about 20 to 30 minutes for a chef to make their way around to us, no big deal. The music is loud and we can only hear the person next to us at best. Chef Harry and Nathan come out and starts cooking dinner. He warns us to backup and I cannot because my seat is in front of a beam, mildly dangerous. I had to turn away from the heat and brightness if the flames. Chef Harry starts cooking and he's very entertaining to watch and literally the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. When the protien is being cooked and served, they were served in very small portions. The NY Strip looks more like a flank steak and only had flavor from the fat of the steak. The chicken was dry and tasteless, the chicken teriyaki had no teriyaki. The food is mid, at best. It's absolutely not worth it for cheap chicken and flank steak from probably Aldi. The chef also seemed very confused by what order went to who and I don't really blame him with the amount of people that he has to manage. However, he messed up my friend's meal twice. First confusing his meal with his girlfriend's who was next to him, then the other he placed the shrimp on my other friend's plate then picked it up off her plate and moved it to his. What if they didn't know her or she was allergic to shellfish? We also received only one refill during this time. I drink a lot of water while eating so this was hard. Dinner wraps up, checks are served. My husband's Daqauri was $6 and mine was rang in as a virgin Pina Colada (I told them Daqauri) at $9. After mentioning this to the server, they have no way of ringing in a Pina Colada flavor for a Daqauri. She went to speak to her manager and we're informed that actually my husband's drink was also supposed to be $9 because all the virgin drinks are that much (much doubt). Then she walked away. Once the chef is done, they pretty much push you out the door, whether you're done eating or not, so they can turn the table. This is a tourist scam. Save your money and find another hibachi place.

After a 3 hour drive up to the resort we checked in took a nap and began our exploration. We walked around and decided to go to the buffet for a casual on property bite to eat. $63.58 later we were escorted to our table. Of course we didn't sit we went straight to the food. Keep in mind this is a Sunday afternoon. They had a salad bar that was fully stocked fresh and it was clean my husband enjoyed his, seafood which was nothing but cold spiced shrimp that was salty or plain shrimp decent two different sauces cocktail which is always good and safe a Cajun sauce that was decent, lemon, then the hot food. Cheese ravioli under cooked, turkey sausage, pork sausage, bacon those were good, over cooked scrambled eggs, waffles, French toast, sausage gravy, pancakes, eggs Benedict I wasn't impressed with from the way they looked so I didn't bother, steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes had to add seasoning to, but the seafood cakes were delicious. The carving station had herb roasted turkey it was good and prime rib gravy compote or anju onions and peppers or mushrooms for your topper. An omelette station and dessert station with sugar free options and chocolate only ice cream ( I asked for vanilla ice cream and was told their order wouldn't arrive until Wednesday). I waited a while because it was still brunch when we came and they were already in the process of switching over to dinner and we wanted to see what they would put out. The clams came and they looked over cooked so I didn't get those. The prime rib looked so nice I went for it that was perfect I topped it with the gravy and some mushrooms which made it even better a side of mashed potatoes went well. The cod was okay the pork chops looked dry the ribs were delicious my husband had some during their brunch so I guess that's a repeat item they serve. So for a quick on property bite I say this place was cool. Not gonna go back while we are still here not even for breakfast. Hopefully they get the seasoning and cook times right to make this a better meal option for people that are staying on property.

Since I was here for lunch, I got the Hibachi Lunch Combination which was primarily picking two choices (protein) so I ended up getting steak and chicken. The food came out quickly, it might have been that way because it was empty when I came in. The server was attentive too and it was just overall a pleasant experience. The hibachi steak is kind of tough, they cooked it a bit more well but I didn't mind it. The chicken is okay too but the sauce is a bit too salty. I did like the gyoza, it's perfectly cooked and I could probably eat 10 of those if I wanted to. For a quick eat, it does the job. I don't really have much to say other than check this place out!

The staff was very nice and seated us promptly, we were sat at a table that was booth on one side and chair on the other but it was an extra tall bar stool type table. Soon as I sat down the sun was right in my eyes. Yes only a small nuisance till the bar tender shut a blind (because the bar folks were effected) but there were so many empty table. Why sit us at this table ? There were plenty of other tables that would not have had this issue. Not sure why the hostess would not know not to use this table for this time of day. Other then that the place was very clean and a normal pub type atmosphere. Nothing super special though. We started off with an appetizer called the "Texas Twinkie" - okay. I read "twinkie" and think some form of cake/bread with a filling. What we got was more of an egg roll. The outside was either a wonton type wrap or a tortilla then filled with brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeño, and BBQ sauce. This was very delicious but definitely misleading in the name and the menu didnt really describe the item, it only give the name and listed the ingredients. I bring this up because we also ordered the traditional pizza.... what we got was more of a flatbread and pretty bland as well. Super basic bread with a lack of flavor marinara sauce and cheese. Also the sauce to cheese ratio was sad. You can tell this because all the cheese on the slice would come right off with 1 bite. We would not order this again based on the price and what was served. I also had the French onion soup. This was pretty well done. Not to salty, no crazy cheeses added. It was well balanced and was worth getting. My partners entree was the barley creek whiskey BBQ sauce on chicken tenders. These were just ok. The sauce seemed more tomatoe based then normal for a BBQ sauce and again just wasn't what one would expect from the name whiskey Bbq sauce. I am sure people do like this place but it wasn't very impressive to us. 3 out 5 stars is a fair rating as service was good for the most part, the place was clean with a decent amount of menu options, but the execution of the food lacked and the menu names are definitely misleading for the items we had ordered.
