This a small quaint restaurant in a strip mall on the far end of Atlanta Highway near AUM campus. I came for one thing.... MONGOLIAN BEEF. This is one of my favorite Chinese dishes and this may very well be the best I've ever had. Perfectly seared/caramelized meat, decadent sauce (with a little kick). Wow!! I didn't catch the server's name but she was very kind and attentive. I will most definitely be back! read more

Been coming here on and off for years, but on recent visit, found out its under new management & new menu was introduced with awesome combo items for dinner. Fast service and great food! I loved their pork bulgogi and various sushi options. I wish they had the raw salmon nigiri instead of smoked salmon nigiri though. I didn't expect to have smoked salmon nigiri when I ordered salmon nigiri. Overall, I would come here again! read more

Their port katsu curry was above my expectations. Though personally I would have liked my katsu served on top of the curry, and much thicker, it wasnt bad as it. The katsu curry here is served with the katsu pre-sliced and mixed in with the curry. read more

The last time I was in here, which was 10+ years ago, the food was so so. Today I was blown away with the best salmon bento box and spring rolls! I even ordered more 'to go' for tonight's supper. I also learned that it is under new management about a month now. read more

I have better and I have had a lot worse. The front of house was clean, but served by one, overworked waitress. I got a shrimp bento box. It was good, not too much. My daughter got two California rolls. She said the smoked salmon in one had a very good flavor. read more

Satsuki is my "go to" sushi place, whenever I'm in Montgomery. The 9-11, Pink Lady, and RedBoy rolls are my absolute favorite. I also love their hot green tea, good stuff. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. I can't wait for my next visit to Montgomery, so I can stop in again! read more

Tried to visit two weeks ago, sign was on the door stating they were closed. (New management). Tried to call in my usual order tonight (chicken and steak hibachi), was told there's a new menu by a woman who answered. I asked what did they have that was similar, she gave the phone to a male who was very nice and tried to assist me. I told him I would just come in to place the order. Once I arrived, the older woman who answered the phone told me to sit at the sushi bar to review the menu and place my to go order. The menu was completely different. However, they had chicken teriyaki. Before ordering, I asked would it be like the prior managements "chicken teriyaki" she said yes. I ordered and asked for no soup/salad, extra fried rice with veggies. Order came, I asked to open the bag to check it before we headed to the counter to pay. I opened it and the rice was white rice instead of fried, the woman stated just add soy sauce it'll be the same. So I did. Opened the veggies, they were not cooked/grilled. The chicken looked like fajita chicken (not the usual white meat). She insisted I sit and dine in and try it because it's "so good and I would like it" Again, it's new management, so I tried a PIECE of the chicken with the rice and knew immediately it wasn't my "usual". I bagged up the rice and kept the chicken and veggies out and went to the counter TO PAY! I explained to her that I did not like the chicken as it was not my "usual" and that the veggies were not cooked/grilled. She yelled NO YOU PAY! I told her I never said I wouldn't pay, I just wanted to inform her that I didn't like it and it wasn't the same chicken. The man that answered when I called previously came over and asked what was going on, I explain to him what had happened, she tried to over talk me and I tell her to let me tell him and she walks to the back. He goes on to say yes, the new owners use chicken thighs now instead of white meat it is NOT the same chicken that it used to be. I then tell him that I never said I wouldn't pay. However, let me order something else to replace the chicken and I'll keep the rice. The woman, comes from the back, grabbed the food from the counter, elbows me intentionally, and screams GET OUT DON'T COME BACK and motions with her hands for me to leave! I politely left. I will NEVER support this business again! VERY poor customer service given from this older woman! read more

I had the chicken bento box and it was really good. The food prep was fast and the staff was super friendly.

This is the best sushi in Montgomery! Me and my girlfriend go there so much that the waitress practically knows us lol. I typically get the special which is soup, salad, drink, and two rolls all for 12.99. Its a great deal and its hard to beat for good sushi. I typically order the Golden Tiger and the Chad Roll when I go. The staff is very friendly and amazing atmosphere. I remember when game 7 of the world series between the cubs and Indians were on and when I asked if I could watch it they were nice enough to switch the game over for me. Definitely a must try even if you are just traveling through! read more

We stopped here on the way through for lunch. I ordered the chicken teriyaki Bento box and my partner ordered the beef bulgogi. Upon arriving we were pointed to a table, it was a rather terse welcome. After taking our order, my partner received a salad with seven leaves, which was a bit sparse. My salad consisted of a fair amount of stumps and less edible bits. My partner's bulgogi arrived about 5 minutes before my chicken teriyaki. The meal was hot and well seasoned. Although my Bento box contained four pieces of sushi there was no ginger or wasabi accompanying. The chicken was a little dry and burned on one corner. I ordered water to drink and it was a bit earthy in flavor. I had hoped for more from a place with such a good Yelp rating. All in all the food wasn't bad but I think I'll look for another place the next time I'm in Montgomery from lunch. read more

Atmosphere is good, tables are not crowded in one area. Service was ok, waitress seemed impatient and was in a rush to close for the afternoon nap? Not busy at all when I was there during lunch time. Food presentation was ok, however the fish themselves were not too fresh, I have a pretty sensitive digestive system and gets pretty grumpy when I eat something not fresh. My stomachs state making that familiar sound after my sushi. I have to say the salad came with my meal was pathetic, just few cheap iceberg lettuce soaked in some salad dressing. Price is decent, I would have given a 2.5 but I decided to round it up, don't want to be too hard on a sushi restaurant in Alabama. :) read more

1 dollar nigiri sushi combined with the half off hot sake is the best lunch deal in town. I have to agree with other yelpers, it's the best sushi in town. I normally come on Saturday and get my fill of 4 tuna, 4 Hamachi, 4 snapper, 4 albacore , and 4 white tuna with 2 large hot sakes and still pay less than virtually any other sushi place I've been to. Overall the service is ok, they seem to have a hard time dealing with rushes but the price makes up for it. Now for the negatives. if you like fatty tuna, scallops or Ikura, then you will be disappointed. Since those items are not ordered often, they have to defrost them and most of the time they were served still frozen and crunchy. I'm still willing the five stars since it doesn't bother me but it can be a deal killer for some. Overall, it's a great place sushi place. I highly recommend coming by and trying it out. read more

First of all, I'm probably the only Japanese person from Japan in Montgomery. All the Japanese restaurants here are operated by Chinese or Korean. But if you want something closest to "good sushi", Satsuki is the best! The service is very friendly. They are very nice and also their price, especially lunch time is amazingly reasonable. read more

Really upsetting :( went to this place because it has 4 stars. So tonight I went to this location for dinner. I wanted to dine in but I noticed that they were pretty busy so I decided to get to-go instead. It took about 25-30 min of me not looking at the menu and just sitting there on my phone for someone to finally take my order. They are very nice tho, don't get me wrong about that. But I am disappointed that the salmon was incredibly tiny, they didn't even put in plastic utensils, the salad was basic, and I found a piece of hair in my California roll. read more

So I'm waiting on my eyeglasses so I decided to go next door and check out this spot. Friendly service as I walked through the door. I haven't had sushi in a few months so it took me a few minutes to figure out what I wanted. I asked for a recommendation. She said all are good and smiled at me. She wasn't lying. I got the Golden Tiger and Sunrise roll with shrimp fried rice. That filled me up and I tapped out on the rice so I had to get a to-go box. I definitely will be back when I'm in the area. read more

We were quite surprised to find this place with three occupied tables on a Tuesday night. That was a good sign. We ordered a variety of food: sushi, sukiyaki, yakisoba. So we got a taste of the sushi bar as well as the kitchen. Overall, the sushi was fresh and the kitchen food was tasty and filling since they gave us extra fried rice with the sukiyaki (on the house). My father-in-law's biggest complaint when we go out for Japanese is that the food doesn't fill him up. Not here. Also, our waitress was very sweet. read more

I don't have any complaints about the sushi or the service. It's a good value and the service was on point. It's not the best Japanese in the Gump but it's not bad if you just want a cheap sushi lunch and then get going. What I didn't like was the low health score of 80 from the Public Dept of Health for mold in the ice machines and employees not washing hands or wearing hair restraints around my food. I'm kind of a stickler about the hand washing thing...can't help it...it's just the way I am. Until they get a score above 90 I'll stay away from this place. read more

Health score is up to a 94!! But the service was horribly slow today. Good food so it's worth a try.

My husband and I were looking for a sushi restraint that had good reviews and also close to our house so we tried Satsuki. There was only one other couple in there so the service was incredible! They say is quickly got our drinks and waited patiently for me to look at the menu. It always takes me a few minutes at a new sushi restaurant because I have no idea what I would like. Being pregnant I cannot eat anything raw and to be honest I've never been a big fan. I order the Energy Roll (back of menu) and a Crunchy Tuna Roll (minus cucumber). The rolls were pretty basic but tasty. There was a lot of tuna and shrimp in each roll. We got 50% off of one roll but for 4 rolls total and with the discount the total was still over $30. Honestly sushi in general has never been cheap. My husband got a Philly roll and another roll that was on the back cannot remember the name. I was debating on giving 3 or 4 stars and decided on 3 because there wasn't anything mind blowing. Service + Sushi average read more

The crazy roll and the tropical roll were very good. Great service, nice decor and ambiance. The bulgogi could use more meat, as the meat used is on the fatty side. Other than that it has a great flavor. Great prices. Remember all saki are half off all day. read more

Great sushi at a great price. Restaurant may be showing its age now though, and lack of upkeep. Bathrooms were dirty/paper towel dispenser broken. Bathroom soap in both men and women's was filled with water and just enough soap to lather. The atmosphere was quite noisy. We could barely hear the overhead music over all the banging, clanking, and yelling of the staff from the kitchen. read more

I have eaten here a few times. I like how it's a small restaurant, which could be hard to spot while driving on ATL Hwy. Customer service is good and sushi also. Although, I'm not impressed with some of the dinner items such as some of the bento boxes and chicken dinner entrees. They could taste a little better. I would still recommend this restaurant, just some of the food items may need a little improvement of how it taste or the way how it is cooked. The poke salmon bowl is mediocre compared to other poke bowls I had in other places. Sometimes they get really busy because a lot of people come there to eat, and it's a very small restaurant. It could take while for them to take your order and serve you. I try not to go here when it's the peak times like within the lunch hours and between 6-7pm during certain times of the week because that's when everyone starts coming in and filling up the place. I still go here and because I enjoy eating their sushi. The sushi is highly recommended if you are a sushi lover. read more

Love this place so much. Typically a chill and quiet environment even when you go in the middle of the day. Can't believe it's not on everyone's radar yet. Very good price and is super yummy. For anyone who hasn't gone yet, definitely go! I like to go at least once a week. read more

This was a delightful little place. It isn't too big but a small atmosphere makes it a good, intimate place for dinner. We were wanting noodles and found that this place had some good Udon noodles. The food was brought out fairly quickly too. read more

Bar none: the best sushi in Montgomery. I've eaten there at least 40 times having lived in Montgomery for a year, as well as at several other sushi competitors' restaurants in the area. What I Like about Satsuki: 1. All rolls have GENEROUS amounts of FRESH meat on them. None of the tasteless micro-slivers of fish that others like Lek's Railroad Thai or others use. On the same note, the rolls are a great value and competitively priced compared to what you would get elsewhere. 2. Satsuki offers a brown rice option for the rolls if you are watching glycemic index 3. Satsuki has second roll half off options at certain times 4. Satsuki's service is always friendly and outstanding, 100% of the time 5. All of Satsuki's rolls, including classics such as the rainbow roll and spicy rolls are all excellent, but here are a few of their specialty rolls that I recommend: salmon lover roll, Florida roll, and the white village roll. 6. Satsuki Sushi has really good operating hours, and I have never once caught them not abiding by them, unlike other restaurants in the area that inconveniently close an hour or two early and don't tell you that when you call to verify hours or don't operate according to the hours on their websites. 7. Satsuki Sushi also takes carry out orders, and they are very fast and reliable. If you can't tell, I really like this place. I wish I had a place like this at my doorstep. read more

great lunch specials ! sushi was on point, I had got the 2 rolls for $9.99 and a beef bento box with fried rice . the rice was so bland and there was entirely wayy too much teriyaki sauce on the meat and veggies . my waiter sucked, we had to ask for silverware, chopsticks, refills and even ginger ( since they didn't put any on the plate for me) but what got me upset was that he forgot to ring up my appetizer . this place isn't what it used to be, maybe new management ?
