No, very bad. Mushy rice, rolls not fresh. I am just writing this note to remind myself not to come here again.

Momo Sushi is my favorite sushi in Minneapolis. Everytime I get asked for a sushi spot…read morerecommendation, I always say Momo. The rolls are huge and packed with incredible combinations. There is a great variety of rolls so everyone is going to be pleased with the meal. The restaurant itself is tight on space but the dining experience makes up for it. I recommend you beat the dinner rush and go early when they reopen for the evening. Warning, it does get really busy almost everyday because it is just that good! Location-wise it is great because if you struggle to find parking in the small lot next to the spot, you can park on a residential street behind the restaurant and take a short stroll. I'm curious as to what the takeout experience is, I haven't had the chance to order, I would rather dine in the restaurant.

It was fine, we walked through the Indian grocery next door. (also fun!) We had a great little table inside. We ordered the Giaoza pork and tumpra veggies to start. (everything was gone the second it hit the table, so no pics) The arrived the sushi, and the hibachi. Every bit was amazing. No left overs and my son (8) orders more Goaoza to go! It was less that $60 for our family of 4. I can't wait to come back and try more.

It was extremely packed. There was no place to wait. I got on an electronic waiting list- I was 5th. It was about 7pm? Billy After Dark around the corner was closed that night so they suggested Flora and I went there. I decided to come back when I moved to 3rd place on the waiting list and it was about 8:20pm. They realized I had a reservation and canceled the waitlist and I was given a choice of table but chose to be seated at the sushi bar. I ordered the salmon carpaccio (again) and the tiger maki (again). Both were great. My waiter Conner was very attentive and had a sense of humor. I talked to The manager who was genuinely interested in the weird journey to my seat over the last few hours as a single diner. We didn't solve the voicemail mystery (we called and they picked up. When they didn't pick (as told) up there was a regular business vm. Strange.) Highly recommend. Will return. Make a reservation early on OpenTable. Or be prepared to wait many hours. Don't bother to call ahead early.

Once seated, it was fun to see the menu with the pictures and decide what to order. I got a drink that was beautiful--very carbonated and a little bit bitter in taste. I ordered the bad and boujee roll for one of the rolls and it was SO GOOD! I would highly recommend this roll to anyone ! Sushi was delicious! Would return, just at an earlier time, would maybe reserve at an earlier time and arrive a little early to be seated sooner.

The single best dinner I've ever had! What a wonderful experience. Went to celebrate our…read moreanniversary and got the Take (mid level) omakase with the Sake pairing for both of us. Everything was perfectly curated and the servers were knowledgeable and respectful. At the end they took our picture for us to keep which was just the cherry on top of a perfect evening. We chose the chef table and it was in a nice quiet corner of the upstairs. A good setting for being able to hold a conversation and not feel distracted by other patrons. Each course was a fun new experience. Being able to brush on the soy sauce was so fun. The sake pairing I'd definitely recommend, and was more than enough for a single person. I saw some people saying that they were hungry afterwards but both me and my boyfriend were not. The portions were perfect, just eat mindfully and slowly and you will feel a good level of satiety. Although it was decently expensive (~$500 after tax) it was well worth it for a special occasion. Also as mentioned by others tips are not expected as they add a 21% surcharge to cover tips. I'd recommend anyone go here if they have something special to celebrate in Minneapolis. We will certainly return next year. Just a brief note on logistics: making a reservation online you will pay a deposit ($100 for 2 people) and that will be applied towards your bill at the end. If you have allergies or are celebrating something you can fill out the questionnaire online. Getting there is quite easy if you take public transit but they also offer valet (I think $10?). There are signs outside the door for the main entrance on the N first Ave side. When you enter the host will check you in on the first floor right inside. There is a foyer if you arrive early with seating. Our hostess guided us upstairs to our table when it was time. Again, 10/10 recommend and thank you to all the people who took care of us and made our anniversary extra special!!!

A lot of the dishes are very novel and not something you'd find in the States outside of very specialized restaurants (like this one). I don't regret trying this once, but I personally don't feel a need to go back. This is an "experience" kind of place, not a restaurant you just go to on a whim. It's like going to an amusement park and riding all the rides. You don't regret going, and you'll have some you really liked and some not so much. But when you're done, you'd rather try a different park with different rides next time. The miso and nigiri were the standouts for me, with the Spanish mackerel being my favorite single thing of the night. Most of the other dishes were interesting in a "I've never had this before, I don't hate it, but I wouldn't order it again" sort of way. It's beautiful inside the restaurant, and we had a clear view of the sushi chef practicing his craft. Service was impeccable. Kudos to the wait staff for making the night feel frictionless. Everything was incredibly well made, but for this kind of price I need to love all the courses, and the egg custard and gourd roll dishes just didn't do a lot for me. But I'm happy to have tried them.

Legit do not know how to feel about this place…read more On one hand, service is pretty okay, conveyor belt sushi is always fun, and this place is large enough that you get a serious conveyor belt experience as it snakes all over the restaurant. On the other, the menu has somewhat different things I am still not sure how I feel about. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (err, roll?) I guess is a good and welcome attempt to expand to more American palates, even if it seemed odd. There were some cakes or something also out that, well, some seemed like what I expected, some others did not. They clearly labeled things on the plate holders on the conveyor belt (never seen it done quite so, uh, obviously, before), and since they have six tiers of plates (by color), they can price things accordingly as well. Not going to lie, even tho sashimi was pricer and it looked like the coloring was doing a lot of work, it was nice to have a protein-heavy option without the carbs (as much as I love rice...). Speaking of, their rice is actually decent enough in quality. I guess the overall experience is passable enough, even if it wasn't cheap.

Several years…read moreago, we dined at Sanjusan with our kids, and they seated us on the top floor in an ecclesiastical room designed for private parties. It was a lonely experience. The food had to be delivered by a lift system (This used to be called a dumb waiter-very unfair to servers who aren't too bright), and the waitstaff was forced to travel four or five floors. I had an email confrontation with the person who sat us. Now our kids have their own kids; we live a few blocks away, not in Seattle, and our return was fantastic! Sanjusan has one bar overlooking the kitchen, one bar for imbibing, and a scattering of tables. We sat at the bar for drinkers, as is our wont. Mikayla and Drayon, our servers and mixologists, made our evening memorable and fun. They had the ability to merge a sophisticated knowledge of dining with the awareness that people also want to have a good time. The food was wonderful. Our unique gyoza was smashing, and we travel all over Japan tasting gyoza wherever we go. Sanjusan's was one of the best. Perfectly prepared al dente, the Mentaiko Lumache pasta tasted sublime and unique. It was out-of-this-world delicious. I also loved the chicken yakitori with the crispy skin. We had a great meal! Prices are high, like everywhere in Minneapolis, but Sanjusan is worth the cash outlay. Since we are close enough to walk to Sanjusan in all kinds of weather, my old and mangled face will be seen often at Sanjusan. I'll arrive early so I don't empty the bar during prime hours. I'm a "cooler," as my photos show.

In the busier area of North Loop where all the more upscale restaurants are so factor in time for parking. We got seated on the fourth floor and nothing but praise for our waitress. She was so kind and friendly while also giving really great recommendations throughout. Another shout out to the wine selection-the sparkling cava-brut was one of my favorites I've had in a while. We ended up sharing the maitake karaage, the Isaac Becker pizza, and the mentaiko lumache. If you take one thing away from this review, it's ORDER THE ISAAC BECKER. If you're down for seafood, you'll love it. A sourdough crust cooked in the oven with tomato sauce and then fresh ingredients added on top like tuna, cilantro, napa cabbage, and lime; I'm fully serious when I say it has been one of my best bites of the year. It's such a good balance of flavors and we devoured it. We agreed that when we come back in the future, this is a must. Your choice on the lumache and the karaage. The lumache was creamy with a slightly seaweed-esque taste to it which made it stand out and the pasta shape/cook is everything! The karaage was decent but probs our least favorite of the night-not enough sauce to soak up the food. Solid portion size though. All in all what a delight. Thanks Sanjusan for such a great first time here.

The rice was unfortunately undercooked, and also too lightly seasoned. The tamago was alright, the futomaki was very good though. Dessert: The yuzu custard - one of my favorite desserts I've eaten in a long time. Definitely the best thing we had and I would absolutely get it again. Service: Our service was pretty good. I did watch one of the other servers grab soup spoons by the part you eat from and then bring them to a table which was concerning.
