One of the best Thai restaurants around. It is very affordable and has great dishes. We ordered different types of satays, noodles and rice dishes. We ordered the fish special, which is only available over the weekends. Everything was delectable. This is not your average Thai place. It is authentic and run by a Thai chef and his family. The service was fantastic as all family members came to check up on us and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant is small, but there is seating outside. It is very clean and tidy. Parking is available around the corner. A great place to go for more intimate dining.

Parking was very convenient as there is 2 hrs free parking if u eat at the restaurant. Staffs were friendly, as you entered. I think it might be a preference thing but the place doesn't place exactly screams Indonesian restaurant. To me the place had a lil cafeteria feel. A couple bar top, long tables... the main cafe feel is the utensils are just at the one of the walls and whats holding those is the typical grey plastic separator... lol The food was amazing. The corn fritters is literally a fritter there is "dough", honestly i think i prefer if there were more corn... The mix sate was great you get 3 chicken and 3 beef skewer. They were cooked perfectly nice n tender and juicy!!!! And the bottom of it lays a tasty peanut sauce yummy !! The coconut milk beef soup was interesting, a couple slices of uncooked tomatoes, beef and stirred potatoes. Chicken fried rice has a little kick to it but delicious!! The coconut mill soup helped me lowered the spicy kick from the fried rice

Was looking for a new place to try and had this saved a few months ago so decided to give it a try! Price $15-$30 per person Items ordered: -Nasi Goreng -Chicken Sate -Ayam Penet Food Quality (Menu, Taste, Portion size) - 5/5 The food blew my mind. The Ayam Penet (smash spicy fried chicken) was full of flavour but warning it's pretty spicy so be prepared. The chicken sate was the star of the show, perfectly cooked and the peanut sauce was a perfect combination. The Nasi Goreng wasn't as flavourful as I would have hoped, but it did pair really well with the Ayam Penet to balance out the spice. There is a lot of other options on the menu, and the portion size was perfect. We got 3 dishes for 2 people and only had a bit left over. Atmosphere - 4/5 It had a very nice small restaurant vibe. Its good for a relaxed hang with friends or a a family dinner. They have cool artifacts on the wall and a good amount of seating based on the size Service - 4/5 The waiters were super nice and very helpful. Gave great recommendations and were always checking in on us. There isn't many staff so i can see it being a bit slow when it's more crowded. Will I go again? Absolutely! Especially with a small group of friends so we can try more of the dishes Lash's Recommendations -Chicken Sate -Ayam Penet

It was my first time trying Indonesian food but was very surprised at how much options and how familiar the items were. Staff were helpful with explaining the menu items and the interior is almost like a cute little cafe. There's a little neon light you can take selfies at but the position of the garbage cans in front ruins the vibe so if you're trying to post something cute on socials it's kinda impossible Lol I'm a fan of southeast Asian flavour and this was a nice introduction to something new. The spice level is adjustable if you ask the staff. I recommend getting the noodle and the curry. The coconut pandan drink was good but found it too sweet for my palate - if you have a sweet tooth I would recommend it.

A surprisingly amazing little spot in an unexpected area, this has become my new favorite place in the city! Very friendly service from beginning to end. The atmosphere was pleasant and not very loud, the seats were more comfortable than they looked and two hours passed by very quickly. We had Chicken Gulai, Mixed Skewers, Steamed Rice, and Tofu Spring Rolls.... all were extremely delicious and I don't normally like tofu... the spring rolls are well seasoned and delectable. Reasonably priced. The Restaurant is attached to an above ground parking complex which is convenient on cold, rainy days, and they validate your parking. I'm already planning my next meal here... this week for sure!

There aren't many Indonesian restaurants in Toronto, and of the one that exists, I think Satay Sate is a hidden gem that everyone should try. My wife is Indonesian and she comes here for the food, which she finds very authentic and reminiscent. We ordered the Bubur Ayam (chicken porridge), Nasi Kuning Combo (yellow tumeric rice with rendang and fried chicken), Pempek (fried fish cakes), Cendol (Pandan jelly with coconut milk and palm sugar), and the Bakwan Jagung (corn fritters). The food was fresh, flavorful, and reasonably priced. The Bubur Ayam was especially comforting - the porridge (congee) was silky smooth and combined with the peanuts and garlic crackers, it had an amazing texture and taste. I would highly recommend everyone try this dish out, which is only available on the weekend. I also enjoyed the Cendol - I have a sweet tooth and this drink hit the right spot. Cold, sweet with a bit of chewiness from the jelly, it went down very well with the rest of the meal. The staff were also friendly and attentive - we were seated immediately and provided with a menu to peruse. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Indonesian meal.

Most delicious Indonesian restaurant outside of Indonesia. Everything we ordered was good. Highlights are the satays, fried chicken, penyet chicken, grilled chicken, Balinese grill fish,, dadar gulung dessert, cendol drink. The soups are not their strengths. Portions are pretty good size. We ordered too much sharable since everyone ordered more individual dishes. Service is pretty good. We had large group. Restaurant is airy but has limited tables. The handicap restroom doesn't work as expected. It seems locked but all you need to do is hit the button to open the door.

Satay sate is an unexpected find in a mostly business offices and care dealership area near Fairview mall. We have been three times since we discovered the restaurant and have enjoyed every meal that we have had here. A continual favorite is the Ayam Penyet (a smashed fried chicken with chili sauce) and recent standout was the Nasi Bakar (rice steamed in banana leaf with chicken). Their sambal has become a household staple, so definitely try it and buy a jar to go home with if you like it! The owner is super friendly and likes to come out to chat with customers at the end of the night. We've had several chats with her and she is always excited about the items she is experimenting with and adding to the future menu. Looking forward to future visits!

It was my first time coming here and I must say I was impressed. The food is great and very flavorful. I ordered the Krupuk and Nasi Kuning Combo (weekend special). The Nasi Kuning was amazing! I loved the little salad - YUM! The restaurant is average size. Not too many seating options. They have regular eating tables and high seats. Free WiFi available. The parking garages right next door. Remember to ask for your parking chip when leaving.

My cousins came over to my house thinking that a family party was taking place. However, they were off by a week, and to make them feel better I brought them to one of their favourite places to eat. Since I had a big lunch earlier I decided to eat something light for dinner and ordered the tempeh satay with a side of white rice. You get 2 decent size skewers of tempeh with peanut sauce. It was good, but next time I think I will order extra peanut sauce as I felt it was not enough for the tempeh. As it was a weekend when we went they have a special weekend menu, and so I opted to try the kue talam for dessert. I highly recommend. These came out fresh from the kitchen. Beautiful chewy texture, and delicately shaped. I loved the taste of the yam interacting with the other ingredients. They also had a beautiful perfume.

We ordered chicken and beef on the stick along with the coconut rice wrapped in banana leaf. They had just open so service was kinda slow. Great ambiance, very cute inside. If you have a larger bottom try to ask to be seated on the bench. I feel that the chairs at the table are way too small and uncomfortable for a larger back side person.

Satay Sate can satiate my hunger any day. It's amazing value-for-money with the portion size and quality of the food you get at more than reasonable prices. While the Indonesian dishes might be a bit toned down to accommodate different tastes, the food is still flavourful. Stopped by for dinner and got the gado-gado (refreshing veggie dish, though a tad bland), beef rendang (good chunks of beef smothered in a rich and hearty sauce), and ayam penyet (super tender chicken, great heat on the spices). Place is well laid out and well lit. Owners have a great positive vibe and are quick with service. Stop by if you want some tasty food at great prices.

My wife and I had friends over for the long weekend. And we all wanted to have Indonesian cuisine. All of us decided to grab takeout from Satay Sate and began to browse their menu on an online food ordering platform. We got a Nasi Goreng and a chicken satay skewer rice dish. These are flavourful! We decided to come back at another time. The service was great, but they were quite busy with takeouts and some last minute walk-ins. I really like how simple the design and layout of the restaurant. Great lighting and ambiance.

The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! The manager also came by to tell us about their other dinning options for another time. Overall, this was definitely a different take to brunch which we did enjoy.
