She also had a helper, measure and record everything. She had hemmed the length of my dress, created a bustle in the style I wanted, and also added long sleeves to my dress. We took our measurements, sent her inspiring photos, and paid for half of my bill. On our second appointment, she had me wear the dress and walk around to checked the length. She taught my maid of honor how to attach the bustle and how to help fluff the dress. She asked my maid of honor to record her, so on my wedding day, she can refer to the video. I brought in my wife's silk blouse for a simple alteration and dry cleaning. It took them almost two weeks, even though I told them it was for my niece's funeral and asked if they could prioritize it. What a huge disappointment! When I finally picked up the blouse, I didn't have time to check their work right away. On the day of the funeral, I discovered that the blouse was still full of oil stains that never been there before-- and the alteration wasn't even done! When I went back to confront them, instead of apologizing, the staff argued with me until I mentioned that I used to run the same kind of business. Any professional cleaner knows that silk easily shows oil stains, so there's no excuse. Their attitude toward customers is unbelievably rude and unprofessional.
