At this point, I pretty much trust her to do anything she wants with it, because I know it'll all be ok in the end. And surprise, surprise, I'm happy with my shattered bob. She's also not about just telling the customer anything to make them happy, either. Last year I said, give me jet black hair, and she said No that's going to look awful. And she's right. I was in need of a blowout and my normal salon was booked, so I decided to try this place.... When I went online to check out the prices, it states $45 for a blowout with some iron work. Cool, sounded reasonable. Called & booked. My appointment was decent. They weren't too friendly, but I didn't have to wait long. Fast forward to the end of my appointment, and I'm ready to pay for the blowout. The stylist tells me $65. I was taken back a bit, so I bought up the website and asked for clarification. The stylist told me "online is a broad spectrum of what we charge, we mostly just do our own thing here for pricing." She went on to tell me that she normally, "charges her clients based on the time it takes her to complete their service".... Um what? I won't smear the stylist's name, but this was my first time there and she knew that. If that is something that is regularly done, then clients should be made aware before starting a service. Not when it's time to pay. read more

Diana was great! My maid of honor paid for me to get eyelash extensions, and I showed up to the salon during a power outage, oh no! Diana had called my maid of honor, who offered up her own house so that Diana wouldn't cancel. Diana, though, made it work. One of the other women at the salon is a runner and had a head lamp. So Diana did half of one eye using just the head lamp before the power came back on. Such a pro! When the power came back on, everything went a little quicker, but even the quality during the outage was great. She was easy and fun to talk with. I had a great session! My quest for the perfect colorist has ended here (THANK GOD) Some may call her Nikki Some may call her a hairstylist Some may even call her a beautician After today, I will call her my hair savior! My last salon experience didn't go over so well. After I left the salon and wrote my review I started fixing my hair and noticed all the things that had gone wrong with my color job. I had asked for chunky and thin blond highlights with some red in as well. What I got was..well a ty-dye affect. Blond on top but with a closer inspection bronze-y, yellowish streaks. The red that was put in my hair didn't blend very well with my other colors and stuck out like a sore thumb. And instead of chunky and thin highlights, I got wispy and thin. To make matters worse, the price just wasn't reasonable. Once my roots grew out I called and made an appointment with Nikki at Sassi salon and I'm so glad I did. Nikki meticulously fixed the way my highlights were parted on my head.(Old salon did this odd part on my head not to the side like I said I parted my hair) She touched up my roots with blond and the ends with something that would bring out the blond in my ends without burning them off from too much bleach.) She also went over the bad red with her own mixture of a red and brown color so it blended so much better. As if that wasn't enough work she also toned my ends and re-shaped//textured my bangs so that they weren't so flat and lifeless. To top it all off, Nikki cost $30 less then where I went before to get a less then satisfactory color. So no need to ask around yelp for a new place to go, cause I found it! Thank you Nikki for all your hard work! It is more then appreciated! read more

So I'm a blonde. Which means I am not REALLY a blonde. (We all say we are 'dirty blonde' but really we're soaking our heads in bleach every 6-8 weeks). I am super careful about my hair. Bleach is awful for it, and I know wayyy to many barbie doll wannabes whose hair is literally breaking off in pieces because they have a bad colorist. I came to Karie and had the best experience. Not only has my hair never looked/felt healthier post highlights, but she was incredibly friendly and accommodating, did a great job on the cut, and it was super affordable. I'm hooked! This is for Jolee. I got an appointment last minute with Jolee. She's a great lady and very nice. I came into the salon with something in mind but first inquired to her about what she would do with my hair. She gave some good suggestions but I was kinda set on something very different. I showed her a picture and she was supportive but just cautioned that since I have never done anything similar to this before that as long as I'm confident about it, it would all work out. I went to Sassi Salon to have my hair cut/colored by Nikki Allison. The salon itself is super cute - colorful, well designed, and clean. I loved the layout and how bright it is - the large windows let in a lot of natural light. Nikki is a personal friend and offered to cut my hair after another stylist completely butchered it (I think she took pity on me - it was BAD). She managed to reshape my awful cut into something super cute! The color she used was fantastic too! Nikki really listened to what I wanted and asked questions about how I like to style my hair - something my previous stylist never did. She also talked to me about the products she was using without being pushy, which I appreciated. Her prices are very reasonable too. Nikki is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone! I love this salon and my stylist Emily Payne. She has been with me and my hair through thick and thin! I had a damaged head of hair after I tried to bleach out some pink dye for my friends wedding, she didn't want a bridesmaid with pink hair lol! I was in major need of a hair intervention! My last hairstylist wasl flaky, at best, so I went to Emily after being recommended by my co-workers. Emily is skilled and sweet and cut my hair into a funky short-do so that I could get rid of the damage. She's been styling me ever since, and it's looked so cute, even through that awkward "growing out" stage. Emily rocks! I live in Roseville and it's totally worth the drive. This is a long overdue review for my FAVORITE hairstylist ever, Kristin. I initially came into Sassi looking to cut my hair shorter and get a recommendation for coloring my hair purple. I liked Kristin so much that I immediately knew she was someone I would trust dying my hair and cutting it shorter, both things I was nervous about. She is easy to talk to, knowledgeable about hair, and is also great with the scissors. I liked my shorter hair so much than when I came back for my hair color I had her cut it even shorter! My purple ombré looked great and lasted nearly exactly the amount of time she thought it would. I got many compliments on it. Unfortunately I moved, so I don't think I will be able to continue going to Kristin, but I would highly recommend both her and Sassi salon to anyone looking for a great hair experience! i have a tendency to grow my hair out for a few years, and then chop it off. It was time to do that again, and this time I decided to go to a real salon instead of a chain. Jolee took great care of me, basing off some photos I saw on pinterest of what I liked and made it look fantastic. She took off about 8 inches, and made my hair look fresh and fantastic. After the cut, she took the time to put some loose curls in so it was styled a little bit, and I could see one of the options of what was possible with my new shorter style. I was beyond excited when I left the salon, and can't wait to start playing with it on my own. I would HIGHLY recommend Jolee to anyone and everyone. Mica is a miracle worker!! I've been going to him for years to have my hair cut and colored and NO ONE comes close to his skills. As a bi-racial/multiicultural person, my hair (thick, naturally curly hair) poses challenges for hair dressers but it didn't intimidate Mica. Instead, he always knows exactly how to cut, style and color my hair to make my hair look and feel absolutely fabulous. Jolee did my hair about half a week ago and I am very pleased! I was going from bleached and pink hair to a very dark brown (as well as changing up my haircut by adding bangs) and was a little nervous and now I feel silly for being nervous at all! My hair looks awesome! The color is absolutely perfect, the bangs look great and she fixed my layers to the point that it made me think my layers before must have looked like.....crap. haha. ALSO! Because my color was a bit of a gamble because of the bleach and pink, she told me that if the color starts to fade too quickly that I should just give her a call and she'll do more all-over color for just the cost of the dye because she just wants me to be happy with the color.
