They are incredibly inflexible and lack customer service to even fool me into thinking they like dogs. Some examples: My first day there my dog was excited and went up to the owner wagging his tail trying to greet her, and she responded that she couldn't pet him "because she just put lotion on her hands" WTF you own a dog daycare? This happens every time we drop off...the people working there don't even get up from the desk to say hello to him or verbally greet him...and he is a SWEET and well behaved dog. Also I asked if they have puppy cams like other daycares so we can watch our dogs and they replied that the "wifi isn't strong enough". Multiple times they have been inflexible with small and reasonable drop off accommodations that are standard fare at other daycares I use. I asked if they could let my dog watch me leave before whisking him into the back to help with his separation anxiety (takes all of thirty seconds). Even when there are absolutely no other customers there they find the need to remind me of how "unworkable" this accommodation is. Most recently, I was four days late paying an invoice and they called me to remind me about it THREE TIMES, and also emailed me. All other daycares I use bill weekly or biweekly, and I"m used to paying invoices as such. I understand if their policy is due at time of service, but it is the way they went about handling the situation that was incredibly offputting. This place has NO LOVE, NO HEART, NO SOUL, and definitely won't get my business anymore.

It's a bit different than the usual kennel - the dogs spend their days hanging out together on several acres of securely fenced land. To stay there, a dog must first be evaluated to see if he has a good temperament with other dogs, and my mild-mannered Aussie had no trouble getting a spot. Each dog has their own private area at night, and when they want a break from the party outside. The grounds are well maintained, and the staff are responsive and helpful (though can be a bit gruff at times). When I dropped my dog off, I forgot to bring his food, and they arranged house food for him at a minimal extra cost. When I picked him up, he spent two days recovering from his vacation! I'd happily leave him there again.

Love these bonuses here at Pickles! As my friend said, Pickles is the Nordstrom's of doggy daycare! In addition to daycare, I've participated in events hosted here, like dog yoga, which is tons of fun! You can practice yoga with your dog and it's always a fun time. Pickles Playland does a great job of connecting dog parents with one another, which is a great way to get to know others. I recommend looking out for their events that you can participate with your dog! The owner of Pickles Playland is Nicky who is extremely talented and most of all, is truly caring of dogs. You know your dog is getting the best treatment at any of the Pickles locations, including this one. She has a professional background in dog healthcare and also bakes all of the treats sold here! Just an indoor facility with cages. Who wants to go stay at a place like that?? When we moved to Washington, we found Tiger Mountain Kennel and couldn't be happier. The kennels are in Issaquah in a mountain-retreat-like property between the houses of Norm and his daughter/her family. It's picturesque, filled with flowers tree's and lot's of space. Norm takes great care to make sure your dog/cat/whatever is in his schedule book, is walked several times a day and gets the medication they need if that applies. He is always friendly, is great with the animals and is very professional. The prices are affordable and we trust this family completely with our dog. Highly recommend!!

After the ownership change, we decided to stop bringing our dog here after she had a full-blown panic attack during a visit. I do want to be clear that I'm not trying to dissuade anyone else from coming here. If you've had a positive experience, that may simply be your experience and your dog's experience. For us personally, our dog became extremely anxious. She would shake and pant uncontrollably just pulling into the parking lot, and based on her reaction, we no longer felt comfortable continuing to bring her here. I also want to share that I was uncomfortable seeing my previous five-star review displayed on the business website after the ownership change. That review was written based on my experience with the previous owners, not the current ownership, so I don't feel it accurately represents the experience someone would have under the current business. To me, using a review from a previous ownership period as current marketing feels misleading. Another concern for me was not being able to see what was happening behind the wall or observe the grooming process. We have since switched to a different grooming facility where our dog no longer shows this level of anxiety. They have windows where you can see the groomers working, and they are much more transparent about the process, which has given us peace of mind. This is simply my personal experience, and I recognize others may have had a different one. However, for our dog and our family, we do not feel comfortable returning.
