I picked this salon because I'd seen it on Yelp, then when I looked on groupon, saw they were offering a deal for a cut, deep conditioning treatment and a style. I felt my stylist was a little agitated. The conditioning treatment used on my hair made it feel more dry than before the treatment; I have hair masques that make it softer! She questioned my chosen hair style several times, telling me that it was really short, which was what I wanted. (She could have gone a little shorter but I didn't want to push it.) The receptionist was incredibly nice, asking me if I'd like something to drink and/or a cookie, as I was early. I did get seen earlier than my appointment was, which was nice. I do love the cut (again, the only thing being that maybe she could have gone shorter, I asked for a pixie, and provided pictures) and am finding it easy to work with. The ladies were chattering in Russian nearly the whole time, which was interesting and something to be aware of if you don't speak the language and find that to be an issue. When she styled it, she seemed to not know how to style a pixie outside of an old lady sort of style, bless her heart. Apparently people in this area don't do "edgy" very much, and I could see why she played it conservative. Better safe than dealing with an irate customer. I blame part of my experience on it being a Groupon, and that Groupon users have given some of us such a crappy name, what with trash tips. I tried to compensate for that a little bit. Like another reviewer said, you have to use a card to hold your appointment. That seemed weird. Made the appointment that day, but they have a 24 hour cancel policy (again, what? For a cut?) so I was glad I could make it. I've had far worse experiences at other salons in the area, and all things considered, I'd probably return. I'm at a loss for better options in the area. They do European style manicure and use high quality European products. Also I liked that they sterilize all tools and I felt safe. I had a baby and didn't go in for a wax for a few months and when I was finally able to go, I found out on the day of my appointment that Margaret had left the salon. The front desk person notified me that another esthetician would be available so I figured I'd give it a try since I still had 2 services left in my package. WORST CHOICE EVER. The new person seemed like it was her first time doing a Brazilian on anyone and kept going over the same spots more than once, twice or even three times! I swear my skin got so raw and irritated in those spots after the service. On top of that, there were a couple of times when she put the waxing strip on, pulled, and didn't get enough momentum to pull the strip all the way off so she reapplied and kept trying again. Never in my whole entire waxing experience had an esthetician have any trouble pulling off the strips or wax off! I was tearing up during the service, it hurt. I'd also add that this person even apologized for the room and the floors not being clean because of the owner not maintaining the place. Ewa, the wax ninja, knows how to be efficient, effective and pleasant even amid the awkward moments of a Brazilian! Appt was at 11:30, I arrived 15 minutes early, and was taken back right away. The facility is clean, everyone is friendly. I went in for a single process and a manicure. The stylist was very nice and my hair looked great. But she never told me that the blow dry was $35 extra! we called the owner at home and she never apologized and offered me a measly $10 off my $35 service that I was never told I would be charged for. when you call they tell you that if you haven't bought your groupon you can buy it from them. this is cheating Groupon and I don't like dishonest business owners. I called Saturday morning to make an appointment for a no-chip and pedicure before i bought the Groupon. They were able to accommodate me and provided me with an appointment at 11:15 AM. I arrived at 11:10 AM. I filled out a questionnaire and was sited in the lobby area. My appointment did not start until 11:30AM. Ok, things happens. Anna is wonderful! She did my no-chip and pedicure and helped me pick out the neutral colors was looking for. There are two pedicure areas, I've come to find out. The one in the front and the other in the back. I went to the the back and did not like it. It feels to me like it was "we need more places to put two more pedicure chairs and this area wins!"...but not really. Well.... I came along with my friends to hang out at Sasha G Salon for quality time, it was 7 years ago, none of us were married at the time we were young and careless. We end up spending the whole afternoon at salon and did many fun services. I drive past Sasha G every morning and afternoon on my way to work - and when I saw they had a groupon up I was excited. What a great location! It's never fun getting a bikini wax. However, if it goes by fast it cuts down on the pain. Ewa was amazing. I came on to Yelp to check out the reviews before buying the groupon and making my appointment - and I'm glad I did! Ewa truly was incredible. Also, as a side note, I bought the groupon for a brazilian, and because I didn't want the full brazilian I called earlier in the day and they let me use the groupon towards just a bikini wax. I found that to be extremely accommodating. I set my appointment up online - which is such a treat! It was super easy and they even sent a confirmation. I've been to a number of spas and salons and I would easily go back. Not only did I get the bikini wax, but I'm a sucker for eyelash tinting. So, when in rome, right? I wish I could write a review with zero stars!!!! First time at this salon for no chip manicure and pedicure. Manicure tools were not newly opened or soaking in antibacterial solution. The nail technician seriously damaged the cuticles on several of my fingers with cuticle pusher and nipper. Blood was drawn on at least three fingers, and there is swellling, redness and pain on several fingers. During the service, when I complained that she was hurting me, she said she had never seen such sensitive cuticles. I have never had a problem like this with any other manicure, and seriously question whether the technician was adequately trained or even licensed. No other manicurist ever mentioned that my cuticles were particularly sensitive. Salon does not have any prices posted, so it is difficult to know the true value of the groupon i purchased. Salon also was overbooked and there was a long wait between services until an open pedicure station could be found. The pedicure station was not functioning properly. Water had to be added by pitchers as faucet didn't work. Massage function also didn't work. read more

Dissapointed with my first visit. The woman pulled my hair so hard it gave me a headache. I asked to not pull so hard. The hair on my neck she blew off with her mouth!!! Shes a freaken smoker and it was totally unacceptable. I told her NO but she did it again. When I left the owner asked how I liked it and I told her, she immediately covered up for her employee saying she probably didnt have the brush to brush the hair off my neck. Had my hair colored by Larisa. She consulted with me prior to doing the color so she knew precisely what I wanted. She made me very comfortable throughout the whole process. I originally wanted a purple color but Larisa showed me that it wouldn't show up as well against my dark hair so we chose a more suitable color that would show up better. The color turned out great. I moved in wheeling in january so i started to look for a new place to get facials. I tried a couple of places before finding this piece of haven and i have been going there since!! The cosmetician's name is Eva and she is amazing every time. She is very detail oriented, rcomends the right product and service for your skin rather upselling you to a more expensive service! The prices are reasonable! Facials starting at $40, $65 for the european which is the one i usually get and they always give coupons for next time! My skin texture and tone has improved a lot!!! Booking the appointment was a hassle, the website was not working properly, the girl could not tell me the business hours, and I went back and forth about three times. Staff was loudly talking and laughing outside of the treatment room while I was receiving what is supposed to be a relaxing treatment. The shower room I was led to after had a basket of amenities that were clearly stolen from cheap motels which is beyond tasteless. When I was checking out, the girl could not tell me the price of my services without difficulty, and even if she is new, if she does not have any information to do her job she should not be working without oversight. Basically they're charging luxury prices for just barely budget services and I would be embarrassed to operate a business like this. They cancelled my appointment last minute, and wanted me to see a more expensive stylist instead. The stylist gabbed with her colleague, who draped herself over the chair of the next styling station, during most of my cut; inane chatter. They charged me a credit card fee, on top of already high prices. The main lady running place is surly with poor customer service skills. My haircut turned out nothing like I requested (though I tried to stop stylist early on, saying some layers looked too short, and she poo poo'd me). Cut looked like Carol Brady meets Rod Stewart. Extremely disappointed!! First of all, 3 minutes to my appointments doors were still locked. While I'm sitting and waiting for service the tech is just setting everything up. Second of all, when I made an appointment I made sure to ask if all the products used in the salon are safe for pregnant women, I was told "yes". At the beginning of the service, I asked the same question again, the tech wasn't able to give me an answer or to check with anybody else. Half way through my mani/pedi I reached for one of the products and sure enough it contains harmful chemicals. POORLY-SKILLED STAFF WITH LITTLE IDEA ABOUT CURRENT HAIR STYLE/COLOR TRENDS. Came to this place by getting a Groupon; the salon was nearby and the deal was good so I decided to try them. The owner was friendly on the phone and I got an appointment the same day. I got a bad feeling about this place as soon as I walked in; the decor was OK but most of the hairdressers/stylists were sporting outdated styles (think 80s bleached or red "grandma" haircuts) or simply unkempt hair. In all honesty, this is a big red flag for me and most likely means they don't follow current style trends or don't know what looks good on them and subsequently won't not be able to color/cut/style my hair the right way. But I was already there and didn't want to go back home. So I opted for some pretty "safe" services to test them out; a trim for my long layered haircut and natural honey highlights touch up to match the ones I already had. Long story short, the appointed hairstylist didn't seem like she had much idea how to mix color, so she kept asking the owner every step of the way. After 30 min of wait got the color wrong even though I told her and showed her EXACTLY what I needed. She did it again now with bleach, a big NO on brown hair with red undertones; turning my hair into a sunny orange mess. By then I was fuming fearing my hair would fall out and the owner took over. She toned it down to somewhat bearable red. Supposedly they also gave my some chunky low-lights which to the life of me I was not able to detect anywhere on my hair. All of this is whopping $65. The trim was a bit of a joke too, 2 minutes of work for $55. The first stylist literally trimmed my hair a quarter inch even though I told her to make my layers a little more apparent. Oh, and she didn't even check if the cut was even, which it wasn't, I had to even it out at home. Styling was scary, I have no idea how but she managed to frizz up and tangle my perfectly straight keratin-treated hair. I don't know if she was sick or tired or in a rush or a combination of all of the above but I couldn't wait to get out of that place after 3.5 hours!!!!! of torture fearing permanent damage to my hair. The owner tried to make it better but I would still not recommend this place. In my opinion it is mostly suitable to older folks with most basic hair style requirements. I really like Sasha G. I've been coming here on and off for 17 years since my very first highlights in high school. I've had my wedding updo and make up done here. I try to see what services they offer besides hair every now and than when the mood strikes. My hair is tricky, it's thin, but there is A LOT of it and I want it done just the right way. My wife and I went in to Sasha G on a groupon for a swedish massage. The place looks nice with some earthy tones n soothing ambiance. Natasha was our masseuse and she started out being a bit too gentle so I simply requested her to increase the pressure..which she did kindly. I know its impossible to know judge whether a client would like gentle or firm pressure so I always let them know my preference. Also happened to have a nice chat with the owner afterwards. Great results! I went into the Sasha G Salon and Spa to get my eyebrows tinted. I had gotten my eyebrows tinted before, but the result was sloppy and the color had a redish tint. I decided to tint my eyebrows again because I have barely-there-eyebrows and I am absolutely in love with the result. The technician was very careful, took her time and the shape is beautiful! I will definitely go here regularly to get my eyebrows done and I am going to try eyelash tinting as well! The color is slightly darker than I expected, but I am still happy with the way they turned out. read more

I had a pretty meh experience my first time here. The waxing tech seemed like she was in a rush, even though we were running early, and was very brusk. I hadn't had a wax before and didn't know what to do, so she was very frustrated with me. And I walked away all sticky, no help getting the excess wax off. Also, this salon has a strange religious theme that I thought was very offputting. There were pitchers of water that were "blessed by John" but by the picture around this blessed water, it was clear that John was some dude with dentures. Would I go back...? Probably not. I have been very happy with my manicures here for over a year, however today my manicurist recommended a product to strengthen nails. The owner sold it to me for $17.50. Later, I looked it up online and learned that other businesses in the area sell the same product for $7.00-$8.50. I was not impressed with the salon itself, but I would like to leave a few comments for one of their stylist - Olena. I brought my mom in for a treat as she was not feeling too well after the previous stylist. My mom didn't know exactly what she wanted. All she knew is she wanted Olena to fix the damage done by previous stylist. So Olena gave my mom a recommendation on the style that would fit her, but also advised her on the most natural color for her that would play out well while her hair is growing out. Overall, very happy with the stylist Olena and how knowledgeable she is, and as for the salon I would give it 3 stars. read more
