Food always fresh and very tasty.... Never disappoints and customer service always friendly and helpful!!

Chicken teriyaki with veggies and white rice - enough for two lunches and delicious!
Sue C.

Yesterday we had to stop by Sears (really, 'had' to because it's not my fav store, except for the optical area) and we were hungry. I would rather leave the mall and go to a local restaurant but for convenience sake we got lunch at the food court. Ambiance: We've not been to the mall in a very long time and were surprised at how nice the food court area looked - the furniture was white - regular and bistro level tables, comfy regular and bistro height chairs, nice area rugs, etc. Options: After strolling past the usual suspects (pizza, burgers, subs, etc.) I chose Sarku Japan and ordered chicken teriyaki with white rice and a diet tea. There was a line and there were 2 cooks making tons of grilled food - most of which was chicken. The dish and the tea were $8.88 but I got 2 lunches from the container of food so I have no complaints. To Go Process: The cooks lined up to-go boxes with white and fried rice and then added the veggies and protein to each box. People on line grabbed their boxes and went on their way - it was a pretty quick process. Food: Besides being very generous with the portion, the flavor was just great! The finely sliced cabbage and thin carrot slices were piled on top of the flat top grill and a metal bowl was placed over the pile. The cook removed the bowl, moved the veggies around a bit and then covered the veggies with the bowl, doing this a few times before doling the veggies into the to-go boxes. That's all it took to make delicious veggies (next time I'm ordering a double portion of them!) The pink chicken pieces were poured onto the flat top grill and the cook rotated the pieces on the flat top until the chicken was firm and browned. He put generous portions into most of the boxes (one box got shrimp that he had cooked on the grill separately). The chicken is not in a sauce but the teriyaki flavor is in each piece. The line kept on growing and most people ordered chicken so the cooks kept on putting more chicken on the grill. A man in the back of the restaurant came to the front with a huge bowl of rice to keep the front of the house in supply. The rice was very sticky (I prefer sticky rice) so if you like each grain separated from one another you may want to order noodles instead. Sarku is a destination! After I had my fill (with more than half left over) I returned to the counter to thank the manager and tell her how delicious everything was. She was hustling and my guess is she is the owner. I suspect she and her family members (with whom she was speaking another language) are Chinese and not Japanese. The cooks looked like 2 Caucasian kids. Even if there isnt' a Japanese person in the place this food is very tasty and I'd go back there to have lunch any day - whether I was shopping at the mall or not!

Chicken Terriyaki, double meat. To go order but had to eat some because the box wouldn't close!

My favorite "mall food" at the Broward Mall (now known as Westfield). The food tastes fresh, as it should, since everything is made to order on the hibachi grill in front of you. Despite that, the wait is fairly quick. Prices are reasonable but have gone up recently. The chicken terriyaki is now $5.99, a dollar jump, and double meat is $1.49 ( but well worth the extra charge). I always get two meals out of one order because portions are generous. The food is not as greasy as other places, which I like.

This is one of the best fast food Japanese place ever!! They really hook you up with the food portion! I got the chicken & shrimp teriyaki with white rice & hubby got it with just chicken, but the portion is so much that I had some leftovers to go. The sauce is delicious & I always ask extra on top of my rice. Great food court meal in between shopping.

I've had their $4,99 Teriyaki Chicken special http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/iDDsTgKvptFUrZqfKUsB6Q?select=N0lBBIXWHsM_56rRWFeFQA for at least 100 times. I know it's Americanized Japanese, but man, it's sooooooo addictive! They added flour to their marinate in the teriyaki chicken and it added a slight and subtle crisp to the texture. Plus the flour soaked up all the delicious meat juices and teriyaki sauce, mixed with stir fried veggies and white rice and a tad of Sriracha sauce... nom nom! Double meat was $1.00, but now it's $1.29 (Inflation is a bitch) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/iDDsTgKvptFUrZqfKUsB6Q?select=EBhXC89S3qjGxIn25dLAew You can substitute the white rice for fried rice, or no rice and just double portion of stir fried veggie, or no veggie and all rice. Oh and ask for a to go box, they give you a bit more than the dine in plate for some reason. I've tried other dishes http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/iDDsTgKvptFUrZqfKUsB6Q?select=bNsdoAlV0XfTt1_hRvJUEw, and pretty much all "meh". They also have locations in Pembroke Mall and Aventura Mall.

You have no idea what you are missing out on. The atmosphere along with dining experience is perfect every time we visit here. I recommend ordering whatever you are craving and you won't be disappointed. Today, we ordered the Otoro spoons, sushi moriwase, chef special appetizers, chicken pad Thai, grilled octopus, toro sashimi, scallop sashimi, sweet shrimp nigiri, and ube flan for dessert. The quality of the fish was fresh as usual, and the customer service was on point. Thank you so much Ha, for serving us, and we will definitely be back for some more sushi in the near future. Yes, I would recommend this place to other sushi lovers as well as customers who enjoy kitchen food because they aren't yet accustomed to eating raw fish. The eatery was buzzing on a Saturday evening with its modernly decorated dining room constantly filling up. Seating about 80, it also sports a sushi bar. Our server, Jensen, provided great service and excellent suggestions. I had an otoro version of a margarita. It came with sugar on the rim. Not to my liking. We ordered the coconut rock shrimp appetizer that came with large, meaty shrimp and a great dipping sauce. But the shrimp had no flavor and was very bland. We also had the tuna crispy rice. The presentation was lovely. But the appetizer was underwhelming. For dinner we had the cucumber skin roll with tuna, salmon, and a avocado. Again, a beautiful presentation with tuna that melted in your mouth. But again, not impressive. The standout was the curry udon with chicken katsu; thick, meaty udon noodles; and a delectable curry sauce so good I slurped up each drop. Of course we had to try the pandan creme brulee and the ube flan. The latter being the better of the two desserts. Dinner for two with 1 alcoholic drink, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was $128.

Marumi Sushi has a wide variety of menu to choose from sushi to cooked food from the kitchen. We ordered different appetizers, small portioned food, some ramen and seafood & veggies hotpot. They literally have everything on the menu even the ones I didn't know I was craving for until I saw them on the menu. My girlfriend loves uni (sea urchin) so we ordered two pieces (1 pc per order) at a reasonable price. It was good for the price of ($14.50 may change due to market fluctuation). It wasn't Japanese uni, it looked and tasted like the ones from California. Nonetheless, it was good, especially with uni being scarce temporarily. We also tried their grilled shishito peppers (nice mini app to snack on), fried tofu with chicken sauce (very hot inside so be careful, but it was tasty and light enough to enjoy other dishes), spicy salmon roll wrapped in soy paper (very simply roll and tasty, you don't get tired of it after eating couple pieces), nato beans and rice with Ikura and quail eggs (tasted little blend but couldn't complain for the portion and quality), seafood hotpot (will satiate your hotpot craving until next time, and Michelle ramen (which was mediocre at best). I got the impression that the place is neat and well kept. I will definitely be going back for the second and third time. There are plenty of free parking spaces in the plaza. Try and let me know if you enjoyed it as much as we did!

I had a great time the first time, and yep it's still that girl. Let's talk about the vibe real quick. The ambiance is everything. Modern, and just really well put together. From the furniture textures to the contrast in colors it all feels super intentional but still chill. Like, they knew what they were doing when they designed this place. 10/10 on the setting alone. Let's get down to the items shall we? What We Had Drinks ____________________ + Naori Signature Drink ($15) : 8.4/10 This one's made with Pisco Berries and Triple Sec. It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste. But if you like citrusy and berry-forward drinks, you might love this one. Again, these are my reviews based on my taste buds. You might feel differently and that's ok honey. + Espresso Martini ($16) : 9/10 Strong, chocolatey, and gets the job done. + Lychee Martini ($16) : 8.6/10 Clean and balanced. Not too sweet, just smooth and refreshing + Pisco Sour ($16) : 10/10 My fave. Fruity, with this nice cold foam on top. Pretty sure there were peach or passionfruit notes in there. So good. * Shots - We also did a round (Don Julio, I think), and it kept the vibe going. Appetizers/Entrees __________________ +Nikkei Tiradito ($19) : 10/10 Thin tuna slices with a shouyu sauce that had a little citrusy kick. I could've had another plate just for myself. +Grilled Octopus ($20) : 8.4/10 This was good! Cooked well, had a nice char. Not my favorite thing on the table, but still strong comes with Peruvian corn and potato. +Arroz Chaufa Special ($24) : 10/10 Babyyy this dish was everything. Wok-fried rice, perfectly seasoned. That filet was so tender, and the shrimp just brought it all together. Easy standing ovation for me. * Dessert - I honestly can't remember what we ordered for dessert, but it was decent. Nothing crazy. I'd give it a 7/10. Overall Experience: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Would I Be Back? Without a doubt. I even told my mom about this place and I think she went a couple months ago! We were told there was only one sushi chef working, which explained the delay, but it still affected the overall experience. The food itself was good the sushi rolls were flavorful and the sauces paired really well. My drink was also on point. The deviled eggs, though, were underwhelming not seasoned and just didn't hit for me. I ended up adding eel sauce, which actually made them much better... honestly something they might want to consider. The dynamite shrimp were addictive crispy, juicy, and coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce that had just enough kick without overpowering the shrimp. A little hesitant at first being almost $30 but it was worth it! The truffle salmon roll was rich and buttery. The truffle flavor was subtle but elevated the salmon perfectly without being too heavy.
