Beef Teriyaki and chicken with noodles
    Jaci Y.

It's like hibachi but take out. They did it right! Packed up of beef and chicken and noodles and cabbage. They included all the fork and knife. They had sauces and napkins perfect. Food is fresh hot and tasty. I can make two meals out of this one order.

For Sarku locations in the mall, I do feel that this has a little better cooking overall than some of the other locations I've been to. The amount of chicken they also provide is quite generous, easily able to be shared amongst several people. As most people order the chicken teriyaki, the line moves reasonably fast as well.

My husband and I were at the Yorktown Center food court, The Eatery, and we decided to eat at Sarku Japan. We ordered the Teriyaki chicken with extra chicken. This came with fried rice and vegetables, although the portion of vegetables was very small. They made up for it giving us a giant mound of chicken. They food was very good and convenient. I highly recommend Sarku Japan.

I sat in the Yorktown food court for awhile debating on wether I wanted to eat at Sarkus or not watching the flow of people order their food and take away large portions of steaming hot food. I had a 7pm meeting and it was already after 6pm . I didn't really have time to drive anywhere. I had to make my decision YES or NO. The other alternative to wait until maybe 10pm. At that moment I made a decision that could have altered my life for all eternity. Yes I did it!!! I ordered the combination chicken and shrimp teriyaki with flied or fried rice and vegetables. My pile of steaming hot food was placed up on the counter in front of the grill where the cooks were feverishly cranking out order after order after order. Salivating with my eyes glazed over I grabbed my food and raced back to my seat near an electrical outlet so I could charge my phone while scarfing down my food. Man it was actually very good. I was only able to finish about 1/2 of the order and I took the rest for a meal later.

Food court wait in line for combo chicken teriyaki, so good!

Try the teriyaki chicken combo you get more food in a to go box as for extra sauce, yum! Hot and fresh with steamed veggies. Sushi is ok, it's a food court. This is our go to place when we're at the mall. Pro: Fresh made food plate or to go container Con: Too much rice, wish they would equal out the serving of rice and steamed veggies.

Whenever I'm at Yorktown mall, I HAVE to make a stop at sarku japan! I love their chicken teriyaki! I recommend adding double meat! The line is always long for a reason!

They are generous with their portions, which was surprising since my order costed only 7-8 bucks. However, the food (for me) was on the bland side. I ordered myself a beef teriyaki plate while my friend ordered a chicken teriyaki plate. The beef had no flavor whatsoever. I was disappointed because I should have gotten the chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki was a dollar cheaper and it was actually tasty compared to the beef. My beef teriyaki plate also came with fried rice and steam vegetables and you can substitute rice for chow mein( a dollar more I believe). The chow mein and fried rice reminded me of Panda Express, but it tasted a little bit healthier. I would highly recommend the chicken teriyaki.

It sucks. The food is so bland and the cook is kinda rude. It just tastes like oily food.

It's either Sarku or panda for me every time I go to Yorktown mall to eat! This place has some of the best chicken teriyaki I've ever had and I love that they cook it right in front of you. The veggies can be better but still pretty good and the white/fried rice is pretty awesome. I always get double meat because it's only a 1.60 more or so. They also have noodles, shrimp, beef, and sushi options. Very quick service too so don't be intimidated by the long lines because they will fly by. I'm salivating now writing this.

Most restaurants have really soggy kimchi or seafood pancakes and theirs was very crispy with nice flavor. Service is really good and the place clean. I didn't dislike it by any means. I know it's not the hostess' fault but absolutely terrible moods starting. They definitely should've called people and let people know that they are an hour behind because then it would give people the opportunity who drove 45 minutes like us the opportunity to cancel. I can't even rate the food because we didn't get it. We finally got seated around 8:30 and the food was really good. The chef was impressive and the servers were very attentive. We ended up getting out of here about 10 o'clock so if we had plans after our reservation initially at 7:45, we probably wouldn't have made them, but thankfully we didn't have anything after and it was a fun experience. We probably won't come back to this location as we live in the city, but the quality of the quantity of the food was plenty. The chef was relatively attentive and very skillful. The entire restaurant is running so behind and everyone is very frustrated. This is horrific customer service and disgustingly disappointing. Also, in looking at open table right now, there are still 6:30pm reservations for tonight. I am writing this at 6:23pm. Also, at 6:30, a group of our exact same size was seated, despite that their reservation was for 6pm and ours was for 5:45pm. The significant backup of patrons waiting for their very delayed reservations is also a fire hazard, surely putting the restaurant above capacity and without doubt completely blocking egress. This management is horrible. It needs a significant overhaul. Shame on the management of this godforsaken place. Would give zero stars if I could. I may be more inclined to give this place some grace, if not for my brother, who was also in our party, confirming that he and his wife had this same reservation/seating significant delay when just the two of them came in to this same establishment a couple of months ago. At that point, it's a habit/pattern, not a mistake.

The restaurant was nicely decorated with Japanese style wooden slat walls. We were quickly given two ice waters and the table had the menus and the appetizer plates, napkins, and chopsticks. We ordered two ramens: one original and one spicy. Original: Husband had this one. I tried the broth, and it had an authentic Japanese pork broth. Super rich, fatty, and umami if you like those types of flavors. Spicy: I love spicy ramens and find original broths a little too decadent for my tastebuds. So I usually end up ordering a spicy version. This broth has a light pork aftertaste with a spicy note. The corn was a surprising yet fun texture add to the soup. Bean sprouts brought an extra crunch to the soup as well. Kimchi was well fermented, and the perfect stage for adding to a soup. The noodles were al dente, but I wish they were cooked slightly longer. I'd give the dish a 4/5. The standout aspect of the restaurant was the service. At a certain point the spicy broth had gone down the wrong tube and I was struggling, lol. The server noticed and brought over extra napkins without my asking.
