Lacking but it's what you'd expect from food from the food court. Everything is about average for about $10.

Sarku Japan at Columbiana Centre in Columbia is a great place to go for delicious and fresh Japanese food that is well prepared. I really like the selection and prices that they have available here. Good experience every time I have been here.

Very, very generous portion. Good value for the money. My son ordered the teriyaki chicken which was served with fried rice, grilled vegetables and lots of teriyaki sauce. You can watch them cook your meal in the grill.... Get this in the to-go box, since you won't be able to eat it all in one meal! This is one of the favorites when we go to the mall.

Beef bento box with extra sauce.

Love this place! Reminds me of Quickway back at home in Maryland. They taste just the same great place for affordable Japanese food.

I was a little disappointed that the options were very minimal and the prices were so expensive.! I got the hibachi shrimp and teriyaki chicken with vegetables only . Everything had good flavor and the chicken was cooked well. The shrimp was good as well. They had a spicy sauce that was a little lighter than sriracha but was very good. I'd give it a 7/10.

Once she arrived she took our drink orders and after waiting so long we were ready to place our order. I point this out because people seated after us not only placed their drink order but received their drinks before we were even greeted. We waited an additional 20 ish minutes to receive our drinks. I had to find someone to follow up on our orders. It was very disappointing, especially for the price point! We all go to hibachi for the "fun," "show," and "experience." Sadly it didn't deliver. It was a bit MEH. The food was good, but that's kinda it. One positive is that if you bring a cake they will store it in the fridge until your meal is over. I'm not sure that we will return. There are other establishments that we may try next time.

We ordered way too much food but we enjoyed all of it. The pork tonkotsu ramen was pleasant and savory, the spicy tuna crispy rice was so addicting and loved all the textures. The bento box was huge and it had so many options. We got some additional sushi rolls and appetizers so we basically shared everything. Really solid food and we left happy and full!

Excellent service, they are quick to keep you glass filled. We got a table quickly on a Saturday night. Tons of booth seating & nice lighting. Starters of Miso Soup & Ginger Salad. If you're a big Ginger fan, just a heads up the salad is iceberg & shredded carrot with a very sweet sauce that did not taste like it had any ginger. The Rainbow roll was delicious, would definitely get that again. A fan of Kimchi, we decided to try the New Gangnam (Fillet Mignon Steak, Cucumber, Spring ivix, top wi Tempura Kimchi, Kabayaki Sauce, Bang-Bang Sauce, Bubu Arare). You will definitely feel full after this one. It felt heavy and turns out fried is not for me. Also tried the Blue Ridge Roll (Tuna, Salmon, Mango, Avocado Wrap with peeled Cucumber). It was ok, but by far it was the Rainbow Roll that won out this night.

Amazing food and a great little store! This is one of my most favorite places in all of columbia!read more

this is my new go to asian market in five points!…read more let's start off by saying, you have to push the red button to get in and out. idk if that's a japanese thing or not however, even in its simplicity, it's so dope. this is a dope market that has so many different japanese packaged treats. from fruit cream jelly candies to dried squid, chances are you'll find authentic japanese packaged goods here. don't expect many frills as it's a simple and small market but the true gem is the food they prepare fresh onsite. the owner is the absolute kindest person. they have bentos for you to order as well as dons but today i opted for shumai, takoyaki, and two different onigiri (tuna mayo and the ume which is japanese pickled plum). when i tell you this all hit!! they make the onigiri fresh to order and they have six different options for you to choose from. the takoyaki was so well balanced between sweet, savory and sour. the shumai were standard however still delivered. the onigiri was the star for me. i have missed the taste of japanese pickled plum (ume) and they hit it out of the park with this simple dish. if you've never had onigiri it's not super fancy or complicated. it's basically a filling of your choice, stuffed in a ball of rice and wrapped with nori. when done right, they are amazing! if you're in the mood for an authentic experience, please show the family over at furusato some love!
