Since it was our first visit, he took the time to explain the menu and made sure we had everything we needed. He was truly on point! My husband ordered the deep-fried Mama Roll, and I ordered the Hwy 9 Roll without avocado. Our food came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Visiting from California and wanted some sushi so we found this spot nearby. The location had plenty of parking and the inside was nice. Their service was very friendly, they took great care of us. We enjoyed most of the food! The sushi rolls were good but the rolls that have crab meat, are made with a full crab meat stick rather than shredded crab meat (which I highly prefer). Came here with some friends for dinner on a Saturday night. It wasn't very busy so we got sat right away. Our server was so nice and friendly. We ordered way too much food but we enjoyed all of it. The pork tonkotsu ramen was pleasant and savory, the spicy tuna crispy rice was so addicting and loved all the textures. The bento box was huge and it had so many options. If you're a big Ginger fan, just a heads up the salad is iceberg & shredded carrot with a very sweet sauce that did not taste like it had any ginger. The Rainbow roll was delicious, would definitely get that again. A fan of Kimchi, we decided to try the New Gangnam (Fillet Mignon Steak, Cucumber, Spring ivix, top wi Tempura Kimchi, Kabayaki Sauce, Bang-Bang Sauce, Bubu Arare). Well.. not an authentic Japanese place. Servers are nice and good service but I was disappointed with the food. I ordered "Chirashi" which came with 6 pieces of sashimi (three kinds, two each) with a bunch of vegetables. Chirashi usually has tons of different kinds of sashimi. Originally wanted to order Hamachi Kama but the description the server gave me was not real Kama, I changed the order. They have a lot of rolls so if you like "Americanized" Japanese food, you will still enjoy this place. If you want real Japanese food, you should go to Inakaya in the east side of town. read more

So originally we ordered our food to go but then I realized I didn't need to rush . We should sit and enjoy the meal. Staff nicely was accommodating to switching us to dine in. The food was very fresh and sushi was amazing. The only odd thing ( if I had to choose one ) was we were going to pay for our drinks separate since the food was paying in advance as it was originally to go order, and the waiter asked us about four times if we were ready to pay for our drinks within 30 minutes. First time trying to newly opened Konnichiwa in Irmo. Heard good reviews of the one in Lexington so wanted to give this one a try. The restaurant was nice and clean and provided a lot of seating. We did have a little of a wait in between being seated and ordering. They were a little busy so no big deal. The food came quick & was hot/fresh. The spider roll was good! 8/10 - the tuna roll was okay. The texture was a bit different from other tuna rolls I've had - 5/10. The spring rolls were really good! 9/10 - the sauce that came with it was delish! The bang bang rice bowl was pretty good. I will be asking for no green beans next time, it was way too many. 7/10. Very unhappy with the service I received at this location. I ordered 2 sushi rolls a mama roll (minus the crawfish) and a special called the sunrise roll. The mama roll was delicious, however the sunrise roll was not good. I disliked the combination of ingredients. I asked the server to explain it and she had to go look on the specials board because she had no idea. She had a very strong accent and it was difficult to understand the ingredients. I ordered it anyway. (My mistake). It was gross! The flavors did not go together in my opinion. Anyway, I tried 1 piece and pushed it away. I told 3 different employees that I wasn't eating it and didn't like it. One asked me if I wanted something else instead and I said "yes, if that's possible." She said let me ask..well she didn't come back until she brought the check. She charged me for both. She said "she explained it to you, right?" I told her I didn't understand her and she said nothing! She was argumentative with attitude. Plus the server I ordered from never came back to table. I paid over $41 for 1 sushi roll, edamame and a tea that I ate, and the 1 piece of 9 of the gross sunrise roll. When we picked up our take-out order the restaurant smelled like a deep fryer with oil that's been in there for a while (this is my opinion as someone who enjoys cooking). Not a good sign for a Japanese restaurant. The pieces of the chicken in the bento box were dry and gristly; the deep fried, greasy "gyoza" dumplings consisted of a wonton wrapper with skimpy filling. The sushi rolls were nasty. One roll was mostly white rice and had NO flavor. I suppose that's what the side of watery sriracha mayo was for - to give the log of white rice some flavor.
