I went to the College Park location. I ordered the chicken terikyi box. It was good. They had a $7.00 special through the app. The service was good. I received my food right away. It was nice and clean. Not busy. Nice place to go for lunch or quick dinner

Chicken Teriyaki $7.39

This is one of the few Sarku restaurants open in Maryland, and we were craving for chicken teriyaki. We usually go to the one located in Laurel, but it is temporarily closed due to pandemic. We noticed the chicken teriyaki is tastier and bigger here than at Laurel, which comes with steamed rice and mixed vegetables for $7.39. We ordered inside and our food was ready in 10 minutes. The only setbacks were the following things. First, they do not accept the national stamp card here that is used at all other Sarku locations (where you buy 5 teriyaki entrees, get 1 free). Instead, they have their own local stamp card (where you buy 7 teriyaki entrees, get 1 free with purchase of a soft drink). The cashier did not volunteer their stamp card until we asked. Second, the elderly Asian woman manager was cranky and refused to explain why our stamp card wasn't accepted. Just "no" was provided. She also was trying to charge for yum yum sauce that was free with entrees. These are trying times to make money, but friendly customer service is needed here.

I walked in to order and they made me wait for half hour. They are probably just prioritising online orders

Unlike in the hit anime Ben-to, an all-out brawl will not materialize as soon as you order its namesake dish at Sarku Japan with chicken or beef; and the teriyaki shrimp with fried rice will also whet your appetite without the unplanned appearances of ninjas in training or would-be culinary conquerors. This Laurel Towne Center location is very convenient because of its plentiful, free parking and, with plenty of alternative choices for dining, its relatively short lines. Finally, my wife and I have always found the clerks to be helpful and efficient, the exact opposite demeanor of the combatants in Ben-to!

This is what I ordered chicken teriyaki with noodles

I am here once again always great service. The hostess is very respectful and nice. I recommend this place.

My hand is bigger than my meal and I am a 5'5 female. There portions are tiny. I ordered the chicken bowl and it looks like a toddler meal. I would not recommend. Not worth it.

This Sarku is located on Route 1, in the shopping center next to IKEA. The food here is tasty but the owner is always so cranky. You can tell working here is stressful. When I'm in the order I normally stop by and get some because there isn't a chicken teriyaki place in NOVA so I grab it when I can. The service is slow and no matter what you will have to wait. They used to try and charge for the sauces but I just ask when they are bagging up my food and the cashier usually just throws it in.

Chicken teriyaki bento box, dumplings, California roll and salad.

The food here was pretty decent. It's fresh and made to order, which is nice since you know it hasn't been sitting long. The store is pretty big and they have outdoor seating and it was flavorful. I wouldn't really call the salad a salad but the portion size was nice. It's definitely enough for two meals.

The food was equal to a fast food restaurant. I had the Bento Box and it was not on the level of a high end Japanese Hibachi and Sushi Resturant. The California Rolls were good but they a used minced version of the artificial crab meat and not the crab stick. The service was good. You order your food and when they call your number, you pick up your food. I probably won't be coming back but it is more because it is not my cup of tea. The food lacked the flavors that I am use to tasting in an authentic bento box.

Number 5 combo, looks delish! Salmon, tuna, shrimp and more! Extra ginger please ;)

Five stars for the service (super-friendly!), three and a half stars for the food (fish came out lukewarm, not cold?!?) and the miso soup was also lukewarm with Linda funky tofu bits in it. Zero stars for styrofoam cups and bowls. The seaweed was good though! The salmon sashimi was bomb but the whitefish was kinda funky to chew. Again, service was great and everything was clean, I'd just like to see them not serve hot soup and tea in styrofoam - for that reason alone I'd probably not come here again until and unless that was changed. Styrofoam when heated releases benzene which is a known carcinogen!

Yes I only gave it two stars, but it is fast food Japanese and I don't want to throw people with a high ranking. That said, this is some legit fast food--I would definitely hit this place up before Wendy's or Mickey D's! The staff is nice, the place is quick, and the stirfrys are pretty big, tasty, and cheap. The sushi rolls are large, chalked full of goodies, and the sashimi is surprisingly fresh. Ask for extra sauce (spicy mayo or eel sauce)--it's free. The only thing they're missing: a drive-thru! (And yes I am from the Midwest and we like our drive-thrus thankyou very much!)

Take this review with a grain of salt for many reasons, and considering that I could not rate this…read morerestaurant above a 4. We have been familiar with the area for years, as my father-in-law lived 3 minutes away, and recently we realized this was his go-to carryout. After 3 visits, I can say it's one of the best in the DMV, thanks to its flavor and food choices. You will find Japanese options like sushi, American-Chinese dishes like orange chicken, similar dishes, and Cantonese food like roast duck, Hong Kong-style noodle soups, and whole fish. They are family-owned and operated. Every time we come, the elder father is always gracious and provides excellent service. The restaurant is always quiet; you can hear conversations in the back, and as customers arrive to pick up their orders, we haven't witnessed any negative interactions. Customers are always happy with their food, and the staff say thank you. The only negative is the space. The building itself is older and outdated. In the summer, it is hot, and now in the winter, there is no heat. They have found ways to make it work, like space heaters on each table, but it can still get uncomfortable if you are dining in. The back area near the bathroom and the bathroom itself need a thorough cleaning. To me, it's a turnoff; it doesn't affect the food, but it does affect the dine-in experience. Again, overall, I love their food and believe it's a local gem worth a try.

I ordered the shrimp and broccoli combo, which came with an egg drop soup and a shrimp roll. Sadly, none of it was edible for me and I ended up having to throw the entire meal away. The rice was undercooked and completely lacked flavor. The shrimp and broccoli itself had an unusual color, a sticky consistency, and a sauce with a taste I have never experienced with Chinese food before. The egg drop soup and shrimp roll were also extremely bland. The interior of the restaurant is also very dated. While the customer service and hospitality were great, the food quality just was not there for me.

DRINKS: they also have a great smoothie menu and you can mix two flavors at no additional cost! it's made with fresh fruit and you can see them blending it themselves, SUPER yummy. i've gotten strawberry mango and strawberry pineapple smoothies, both super good combos. it comes with bubble/boba but to be honest, i dont think it goes super well with a smoothie. you can definitely opt for them to leave it out. my sister had a lychee milk tea with bubble and it was okay, was oddly kinda warm/room temp which they tried to mask with ice but wasn't bad overall.
