Jambalya dish its was ok
Melissa R.

In Downtown Salem went to try them out for my birthday upon entering it really brings such a vibe of an experience with great lighting attention to detail with picture decor, beautiful light fixtures for a well lit experience that we loved and comfortable seating. The staff were all so kind attentive and provided excellent recommendations. We also were the last ones in there since we got so much food and we didn't even realize it the staff treated us so well. We tried multiple appetizers and dishes- I absolutely LOVED the spinach artichoke dip it was the best I've ever had and the garlic shrimp I didn't realize all these items came with so much bread options. We also ordered garlic cheese bread which was yummy as well. It did end up being a lot more bread than we thought with all the appetizers and dishes so keep that in mind but they are great choices. If you have to get one or 2 appetizers I'd recommend the artichoke and the shrimp dish. I also got a lemon drop drink and it was perfect amount of sweet! We also got a dirty soda. Main dishes we loved the Pot roast and the server told us another customer had come days in a row just ordering that so we were convinced and it did not disappoint. I also got the cheese tortellini and it was so flavorful. We also got the toasted raviolis they were ok but I don't like marinara sauce much so it needed some kind of sauce which they got us Alfredo sauce. The Alfredo sauce was good but next time I would skip the toasted raviolis - they need some kind of sauce to help heighten them. The jambalaya was ok and the lasagna was good but would have gotten the pot roast item instead. Overall if you want a great atmosphere, great service and great Italian food options this is the place to be. Some things were a big hit. I would definitely go back again whenever I come back to town and was very happy to celebrate my birthday dinner here.

Sarina's combo (chicken parmigiana, spaghetti, and lasagna)
Cindy R.

We dined at Sarina's based on the reviews. Ordered the Tuscany Lemon Drop to start off with. Our server inadvertently gave me a margarita instead. Wish she let me keep it. Oh well... My husband and I shared a bowl of minestrone soup, a half portion of spinach salad, Sarina's combo entree (lasagna, spaghetti, and chicken parmigiana), and tiramisu. We enjoyed the soup and salad more than the main entree. The dessert was okay. We've had better tiramisu elsewhere. I think if there was a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top, it would have tasted better (in my opinion). Our server brought our entree before our salad and soup. She apologized for putting a hold on the wrong items. She held the salad and soup, but meant to hold the entree. We appreciate honesty, and know that these things happen sometimes. At least the wait wasn't long. Which we appreciated. Our server was really sweet, and checked in on us often. We had plenty of food to take home for lunch the next day. Prices were reasonable. Parking is along the street. We dined on a Sunday evening, so parking was convenient, and free. The room was bustling and noisy. We would dine at Sarina's again. Next time we'll probably try the espresso martini (and/or cafe amaretto, or tiramisu latte), and share the baked italian meatballs, calamari fritte, short rib ravioli, and lemon berry cream macaroons cake. Enough for dinner, and also lunch (or dinner) the next day. Perhaps next time I'll give Sarina's 5 stars, instead of 4 stars. Time reveals all things.

Came here for a birthday dinner, loved they could seat all of us and the prices were amazing. Food on the other hand wasn't amazing or anything I'd come back for.

Grilled Cheese w/ Short Rib & Beef and Freshly made potato chips
Nayeli C.

The food was great. My children loved the Alfredo and spaghetti. My husband has the shrimp & sausage jambalaya and said it was good but he wished it was spicier. I didn't love my rigatoni allá vodka, it lacked flavor. However, the short rib & beef grilled cheese was AMAZING and we are quite addicted to their freshly made potato chips. I highly reccomend this dish. Next time, we won't sit out by the mall, as it's a bit overwhelming but will sit inside instead. We will be coming back regularly. ‍

Very nicely styled! Little bit noisy when all the tables are full but it is a great and fun energy!

Great opening day! Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Prices were lower than we expected and portions were quite generous! Favorite at the table was the Lasagna for sure. Short rib ravioli also very good and crave-able. Vodka Rigatoni was very tasty but could use a little more sauce. Great first experience and we will definitely be back! PS: As this is their opening week we came in with the expectation that service would take a little longer (which it did) but was worth the short wait!

The food was tasty. We sat outside for dinner and a show. Waitress was nice and on top of the order!

Nasty why did the chicken Alfredo have green onions in it. And the sauce was so runny they wouldn't stick to the noodles. Won't go back.

First, upon…read morearrival for four nights in town, I couldn't get a reservation, so I emailed the restaurant to put me on the wait list for Thursday (since we were leaving Friday); they actually got back to me with a reservation at the time I requested! As we entered that evening, the place was packed and very buzzy (loved it!), and we were greeted like family! Seated immediately, Dario (owner/chef) came to our table with warm greetings and assistance with wine, giving us a blind taste of 3; we ordered two bottles of the biggest one. Then the bread basket, oh my goodness, gigantic with focaccia overflowing. The beet salad had hundreds of beets, couldn't finish it, but tasty. Then the entrees.... my husband had lasagne, loved the cheesiness and delicious flavor; my dish, Pappardelle al Cinghiale, was huge, enough for at last two, maybe three, I would say. And so delicious, but I had to take half home; the braising sauce was killer! Service was impeccable, warm and friendly, very Italian! Thanks, Dario, for a really fantastic experience! We shall return.

The chef stopped by each table to check on everyone, it was great. Everyone is very friendly. Pastas are very flavorful and rich. I liked the noodles, perfect texture. Next time I would ask for light sauce. Actually at the end they asked if we wanted bread to finish up the sauce, and that's so thoughtful!! I know someone who would love that. I'll bring them in :)

The…read morerestaurant was super empty when we arrived, but looking around, the restaurant also seemed short-staffed. I've visited a number of Old Spaghetti Factory locations in California before, so I'm well familiar with the lunch menu. The loaf of bread that arrived on our table after we placed our order was piping hot. It was actually so hot, it was difficult to pick up and cut. There's no doubt that this bread is as fresh as it gets. The minestrone soup I opted for with my entree was filled to the brim and packed with a variety of veggies. If you're looking to cut some calories, you'll definitely want to go with the soup over one of their heavily dressed salads. My wife and I actually split their manager's favorite with meat sauce and mizithra cheese. We opted to up-size to a hearty portion for $4.99, which comes with extra sauce and noodles. The spaghetti was well cooked in terms of texture, but could have been drained a bit better. The meat sauce had a bunch of ground beef in it, and the mizithra cheese was salty, nutty, and tangy. If this is your first time visiting an Old Spaghetti Factory location, I highly recommend trying out the mizithra cheese because I have not see this option offered anywhere else. I regret to report that one dish our party ordered was completely dropped. It was difficult to flag down our server to inform them of the issue, so we ended up having to run around the restaurant to find a staff member. We ended up waiting close to 15 more minutes for the last dish to be prepared, at which point all the food that had been delivered earlier had dropped to being room temperature. Overall, it was a mixed meal. Service was somewhat lacking, and food was pretty standard as far as Old Spaghetti Factory locations.

We waited for around 10 minutes. 5. -10 minute wait is nothing usually but here's the kicker... We saw multiple people going back and forth right in front of us. Zero greeting, zero acknowledgment of our presence. The sign clearly said to order at the front before being seated. No one cared. We had the menu and were ready. Super weird that no one even said welcome or we will be right with you. The ambience was---- behind the swinging doors that we never made it past! We were so excited to try this place. We left and went to a different Italian restaurant where the food was great.

I especially love supporting a family business with such a long history in the community. We stopped in mid-afternoon, which meant we were able to take advantage of their lunch pricing. They started us with bread and a fantastic garlic butter that was hard to stop eating. The minestrone soup was just okay, but the deep-dish pizza was fantastic--definitely a highlight! We also tried the lunch combo with tortellini and chicken and mushroom linguini. Both were good, although neither had us completely over the moon. That said, the service was excellent, which always makes a dining experience even better. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and would absolutely return.
