A cardiologist with a heart (see what I did there?) The office itself is located by in Plantation at the Westside building on the second floor. Office staff is super friendly and makes sure to answer any questions you may have before going into your appointment. Dr. Steinman himself is super caring and has good bedside manner which can sadly be hard to come across, at least in my experience. Pleasant, Professional and Patient seems to be the theme permeating this office. But I was seen first by his P.A. or Nurse Practitioner, Annie, who conducted an initial in-depth assessment, thoroughly reviewing my situation and history and asking pertinent questions. AND she was, unsurprisingly, pleasant, professional and patient. Having been aware of Dr. Chizner's training and accomplishments I expected to be a bit intimidated, but despite the white-coat-syndrome-on-steroids with all the pros in their white coats, I was comfortable with him from the start. It was interesting to see the teaching that was going on as he conducted his assessment and it was clear that he has great rapport with his students as he frequently made eye contact with them to highlight a point or observation. The bottom line is that virtually immediately he identified the likely cause of my complaints which have persisted for years. No tests, no labs, no scans. Just simply his inquiry into my symptoms and history. This after the previous usual suspects of echo's, ekgs and so on having been inflicted on me which provided no guidance into explaining my situation. I'd be remiss if I didn't recognize Alicia, the young lady at the front desk who also fields the phone calls. When I got to Akumen the clerk called me to the window she stated that no labs or clinical were sent by the doctor Cardiologist office. Guess what? I had to go back to the doctors office and get the damn papers needed myself. I also had to take Metropolol pills for a second time and wait who knows how long for another appointment . The office staff were very sweet but what can they do when their doctor comes in late and all their appointments are backed up!! We had to get special transportation to get her there, and now we have to start all over again. My brother in law was sick as a dog, the office staff said come right in. Well he waited 2 & 1/2 hrs. and he walked out.... This is not a way to run an office no matter how good the doctor is. I will find another doctor for my mom.... this was a horrible experience.
