Came in to see Dr. Alvarez for an annual week visit (as required by my Medicare Advantage insurance…read morecompany). I had to fill out several pages of forms prior to seeing the Doctor. These were forms to be completed by hand (not digital, old school) and then had to be entered manually by the receptionist. I was a new patient and it would have been nice to have completed these forms online, prior to my visit. My appointment was set for 10:00. I did not get in the back for my triage until 10:30 and did not see the Doctor until after 11:00. They do not use a digital scales or blood pressure machines. Medical devices could use some updating. They required me to have an EKG, even though I expressed that I did not want one. They told me they would not bill my insurance and that it was for internal use only and was required by the Doctor. The examining room had rules on the wall and advertising for allergy testing, with two notices to turn your phone off as well as a referral policy. No artwork. The lobby was also decorated with policies on all the walls. Although, they did have lots of brochures for services and magazines on the waiting area. Now for my visit with Dr. Alvarez... the Doctor had a wonderful bedside manner. He was warm and friendly. Dr. Alvarez gave me a thorough exam and gave me some good medical advice. He spent a fair amount of time with me, I did not feel rushed. I would highly recommend Dr. Alvarez to anyone seeking a solid primary care physician.

When someone is unaware and needs to be educated you do not hang up on them, you correct them. It is common knowledge to say goodbye before ending a call. Just normal manners. Which they have NONE!!! I understand some people have bad days but you don't get a pass to be bad at your job.

At the end of our pregnancy, my husband and I interview a few pediatricians. Once we met Dr…read more Suarez, we knew she was the one. Every time we visit her office we are greeted by caring staff members that take the time to make you feel welcomed and like family. We never feel rushed. She takes her time to examine our daughter and explains to us everything along the way. She keeps up to date on all medical journals and provides her profesional insight. And most importantly, our daughter loves her. She now walks in with her own doctors play set and examines Dr. Suarez. We highly recommend this family practice. There's nothing more reassuring than your doctor knowing your child's history instead of a different doctor every visit.

Dr. Suarez has demonstrated poor bedside manner, and both the doctor and the nurse practitioner have appeared distracted and disengaged during multiple visits, more judgmental This has not been a one-time occurrence it has happened often enough that I feel the quality of care is unacceptable. When I call to provide updates, I am often told the doctor is unavailable, and important information I provide is not communicated to the physician. This has created confusion and gives the impression that I, as a parent, am not following through which is simply not true. It's also concerning that the doctor is frequently unavailable or on vacation, contributing to a pattern of inconsistent care. Today was the final straw. I brought my 10 year old daughter in for a physical, to discuss updates on her medication, and to have an evaluation form completed so we could move forward with her care. At no point did I request a medication refill. However, I received a call afterward where the doctor was condescending, dismissive, and twisted the purpose of the appointment entirely. The nurse practitioner also misrepresented the visit in a way that made me feel unheard and mischaracterized. The communication from this office and in between the dr and nurse has been poor, and I no longer feel confident that my child's health needs are being met in a respectful, professional manner. As a parent, it is upsetting to feel ignored, cut off, or misrepresented especially when I am trying to advocate for my child.

I have insurance that does not require me to go to a primary but I prefer to go to the primary so someone knows all the different conditions I am managing and the treatments to ensure there isn't a conflict. Today, I had an appointment and got the RN. Unlike the PA that seems to be interested in the medical profession, the RN is rude (won't let you ask any questions without interrupting), arrogant (can glance at a screen for a second and from that glance can disregard all the other doctors and procedures done over the last 40 years), and argumentative (literally argued about everything while not knowing and disregarding prior diagnosis from real doctors). It came to light today that on other occasions that he has operated in an ethically gray area. Prime example is not only on an escalated issue, called back and allowed me to believe he was a doctor and then to covered for the front office by suggesting that I pay out of pocket because they didn't know how to complete the paperwork for prescription. This while putting my wellbeing in jeopardy due to all I can assume is laziness. Another time refused cancelled on appointment on a Friday afternoon because because he didn't want to complete the appointment and even with the severity of the issue, thought it would be better for him, if I waited for another doctors office to schedule a appointment knowing that would be weeks out. When I said that I needed to address the issue sooner he then wanted me to go to the emergency room all without knowing the history or background. The PA is great. She does not always agree and sometime acts in the best interest of the practice, but I have not had any ethical issues, or had to deal with the unnecessary arrogance that I always have to deal with with this RN. I think someone needs to remind him that he is not a Doctor or PA and that all patients are not completely ignorant about the conditions they have been managing for 40 years. I would suggest it might be worth a couple minutes to let them finish a whole sentence without having to be rude to be heard. I will be following up with the state as I do believe that an RN allowing someone to believe your a doctor so you can gaslight them is ethically wrong at the very least, but likely far more serious than that.
