This review is from the last major freeze Houston had last year. Hired this company through a contractor referral to remove seven oak trees (50 ft and more) and a couple of China Berry trees. The price was reasonable after negotiating because some of the cut oak were viable for resale and the tree clippings would be used by the company also. The woodcutter was very skilled in scaling all of the trees and provided safety ropes to a couple of workers down below to lower heavy branches as they were being cut while other employees were gathering smaller branches to be shredded by the the wood chipper. I was very pleased with proficiency of the project until it started getting later in the day and the crew decided to take short cuts. Instead of the steady back and forth of moving branches, they brought their truck closer to the wood which I originally did not have a problem with the action granted they were taking responsibility for any damages incurred by the weight of the truck on the yard. As you see in the pics some damage was down to an asphalt walkway and major depressions throughout the yard were the truck became stuck at various points of the operation. The owner departed earlier that day but the project manager was still on site so before they completed the project I asked, how would they rectify the damage to the yard. He contacted the owner and they let me know they would send a crew in a couple of days to repair the yard and asphalt. By this time two weeks have passed and after multiple calls and voicemails to the owner, left one last voicemail informing him that I was going to the courthouse the next day to submit paperwork for Small Claims Court and guess what? I got a call back the next morning. The original project manager and a worker came and filled in the holes with sand stating that their boss did not authorize them to use topsoil in addition to the sand. At this point, it was not worth the extra time and energy to further interact with this company. What ever happened to quality and standing behind your work instead of trying to to make a quick buck then move on. I had five more houses that I was going to use their service, but after this interaction I passed and gave my business to another company! read more
