They had six flavors: sangria - fruity, wine; honey whiskey - topped with a Biscoff; piña colada - not pictured because I skipped that one; mojito - lime and rum; black forest - chocolate cupcake with boozy cherry; peanut butter whiskey - also a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Presentation and toppings were all really lovely and looked delicious. Super creative concept all around. Most of the cupcakes were yellow or white cake, the rum, whiskey, and wine were noticeable but not strong. So you knew they were there, but not overwhelmed. Some people might actually want them to be stronger! The flavors in general were subtle but clear. The frostings were all pretty light and pleasant, which is nice. I know there's a lot of people who really like dense buttercream and cream cheese frostings and for whom cupcakes are a frosting delivery vehicle. These are not those. Plenty of rich and delicious frosting for the cupcake but not too much. The cupcakes are not following the super sized trend; they're a nice cupcake sized cupcake. This makes it easy to rationalize eating two at a time because, um, you wanted to compare flavors. Yep, that's totally why. I liked all the flavors I tried, but was surprised that my favorite was the chocolate peanut butter and my second favorite was the mojito. Only comments would be there's some variability as to the moistness or dryness of the cake part, and the filled ones could use more filling. The people at the pop-up (I forgot to ask if they were the bakers/ owners) are really nice and happy to answer any questions or customize an order. As you can tell by my substituting an extra black forest for the piña colada. They'll be back at the Broadway Market for Dyngus Day!

The staff were so attentive to myself and my groom; making sure we had a drink before we walked down the aisle, making sure they knew our drink preferences for the night, and several times seeking us out wherever we were with a readymade drink (mixed and just water) to make sure we were lubricated and hydrated. They also made us 6-8 covered plates of a sampling of all the catered foods and set it at our table for when we finally got to sit down AND they brought us and the wedding party hors d'oeuvres immediately after the ceremony while we were getting ready for photos. I had purchased one of those 7lb cans of luxardo cherries to go with cocktails for the night and of course got cherry juice on my fluffy white dress and one of the bartenders deftly and quickly saved my dress with some club soda too! Everything was beautiful and tasty and there were several compliments on the food. We already loved Joe's Deli and Buffalo Catering is even lovelier. Highly recommend you let them cater your wedding and suggest you ignore the review on here by a wedding attendee about running out of food. Running out of food is a planning mistake and not the fault of the caterer if they didn't know about the correct numbers or the family didn't take their advice and instead bought less that was suggested! Our food amounts were seemingly perfect as far as I can tell (as advised by the caterer based on our attendee numbers) and we did a grazing menu: a great variety of delicious slider sandwiches, a bruschetta bar, two orders of charcuterie, two orders of cheeses, vegetable and fruit plates, and four types of hors d'oeuvres with enough for each person to have at least 2 of each. Open bar package with beer, wine and cocktails as well. Again, can't say enough, they did a stupendous job and I felt so cared for and taken care of. PS: I don't have any photos of the sandwiches yet but I'm sure they exist. They were DELICIOUS!

Naturally, I still find myself frequenting this Wegmans whenever I'm back in Buffalo. The Amherst Street Wegmans has a massive parking lot, though you would never know it during the peak hours. Between how popular this store already is and the addition of the Wegmans Wine & Spirits shop in the same plaza, it's usually pretty packed. You might not snag a spot close to the entrance but you'll find a spot. Might I suggest that patience is basically required, as with all things Wegmans. Once inside, I'm almost always overwhelmed (in the best way) by how much there is. Prepared foods, deli counter, meat and seafood, bakery, flowers, produce, frozen foods. You name it, Wegmans has it and they probably have a Wegmans branded version, too. I love browsing the craft beer section and, more recently, the growing selection of non-alcoholic options (Thank you, Wegmans!). Honestly, I can't complain. Yes, Wegmans can feel overwhelming, but now that I don't actually work there anymore, I've grown to appreciate the variety, freshness, quality, and pricing. The things I would do for Wegmans to come to the West Coast... until then, I'll keep savoring every visit to Weggies while I'm back home.

One insisted it was in the ice cream area! It's always something in that place. In the end, I wound up paying more than I should have but was fed up and just left. I ordered 2 of their Italian wedding cookies (which was very good), but I had a tough time deciding on which cakes. After some questions/answer session, I finally decided on some flaky custard pastry and a cup of coffee, along with the cookies. I paid for my ordered and even though we didn't require table service, I still tipped the kid behind the counter. Afterwards, we went outside with our order since the weather was nice this evening. After sitting down, I had cut into my dessert, and started tasting the custard which was very good. Then I picked up a piece of the pasty, and the pastry was too soft to be flaky and at the same time, too hard to chew. Essentially, the pastry was stale. Immediately, I said to my friend, "I don't like this dessert it's very hard to chew". She said she comes here all the time and it's not supposed to be like that, so she tasted it and then suggested I go in and ask to exchange it for a different dessert. I took my dessert in, almost completely whole and the kid behind the counter asked if anything was wrong with it. I told him that since this is my first time having it, I'm not sure how it's SUPPOSED to taste so honestly, I wasn't able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong with it but I did ask if I could exchange it for another dessert? He tells me, well since there's nothing wrong with it, he couldn't do an even exchange, so I'd have to buy a new dessert. I told him, forget it and he can throw out my dessert. I left it on the counter for him to trash, and walked out. So now I'm very upset. Not only did you sell me this STALE piece of pastry, but now you're unwilling to fix the problem. Furthermore, if a customer is willing to trash the entire dessert, almost whole, don't you THINK there could possibly be something wrong with it? It seems like this very simple common sense thought process never took place with this kid. My friend was waiting for me outside, and she was adamant that there was something wrong with the dessert so she went inside to talk to them again. She tells them that she comes here all the time, and that there is something wrong with the dessert. This time, they admitted that maybe the dessert sat in the fridge for too long and then they gave her an exchange dessert! Why did it take two complaints for you to correct the problem? I was so upset with their lack of common sense customer service, I will NEVER come back here for anything ever again. Based on the reviews, they may be known for their desserts, but my dessert was stale, and their service was lacking. There are plenty of other businesses on Hertel that can give me much better service, and UN-STALE pastries.

Aside from that, the flavor is lovely, portion size is good for the price, and customer service wasn't phenomenal but they were friendly and smiling!
