I've been seeing Sara regularly for about a year now. She is wonderful to work with - attentive, patient, prescriptive and kind. I recommend her for acupuncture, seeding, energy work and cupping services. read more

I called for help with a chronic skin condition and OCD-like excoriation, but Ms. Weinberg hung up on me after just a few seconds and would not answer further calls. So I texted. Her reply floored me: "This business doesn't tolerate intimidating, outrageous or disrespectful requests for service. You may take that as the reason you didn't receive a call back. Don't contact us again." What on earth could she have misheard me say that was so out of line that she would not even want to check that she had heard me correctly? Honestly, I feel soiled - and the opposite of helped, when I am in need and vulnerable. The search goes on... read more

I'm so grateful for the care I have received from Sara. She has helped me considerably in dealing with chronic headache and digestive issues that began after a TBI many years ago. I've worked with several acupuncturists over the last 15 years, and Sara has really stood out. She is trauma-informed, compassionate, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable and versatile. While in the past acupuncture has helped me with long-term relief, I'm impressed that Sara has helped me with not only with long-term relief but also immediate relief if I arrive to a session with an active headache. She's also helped me address underlying root causes and educated me on gentle stretches throughout the week. Thank you, Sara. read more

Sara Weinberg is a skilled acupuncturist who helped me in my recovery from a painful back injury. Her treatment was very helpful and she went out of her way to give me valuable, beneficial advice for other health related issues ranging from nutrition to dry skin. She is a very compassionate practitioner and advocate with immense integrity. I especially appreciated that she is a health practitioner who treats people holistically and that she whole heartedly understands that caring is as important as (and can greatly influence) "curing." I sincerely recommend Sara Weinberg for whatever health issue you need help with. read more

A very special practice with a highly gifted and powerful practitioner. We have been working on root causes and symptoms. I feel confident that my health is getting back on track at a more optimal level. Grateful for having the opportunity to be supported and guided in health by Sara for many more years to come. read more

Sara is very accurate in her diagnosis, very intentional in her prescription, and one of the most nurturing and warmest people I've ever met. I've worked with a number of health practitioners the last few years and Sara's been one who I find the most ease with in sharing my personal and health issues. She's seen me through some tough times and I'll always remember her as someone who really helped me through it through her acupuncture work and her motherly spirit. I started seeing Sara for a variety of physical and emotional issues when I was studying at Berkeley several years ago. I starting seeing her again just recently to help with mild fatigue, indigestion and other chronic conditions. Her acupuncture treatments have been very helpful in relieving my symptoms, but what's been most helpful are the dietary and lifestyle change recommendations that she's given me, such as addition of supplements and change of eating habits. Sara has a lot of experience and knowledge with food and diet, so I never hesitate to ask for more help on that end of things. I love that she takes the time to explain the Eastern theory as well as the Western science behind what's going on in my body. I love her warm and welcoming office space. And I just love every minute I get to spend with Sara. I'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat! read more

I went to Sara Weinberg to help manage fibromyalgia symptoms and high stress, mainly tension, pain and sleeplessness. The level of diagnostic information provided was impressive, as were the varied treatment options-- but Sara was able to educate me without my becoming overwhelmed. Not only did I receive excellent acupuncture catered specifically to my comfort level, I was given outstanding nutritional advice, the option of using dietary supplements, massage and cupping treatments, and an exercise and stretching regimen. Sara is an amazingly professional and personable practitioner/healer. Just being in the same room with her always helped me feel better, even before she started any therapies. If you need an acupuncturist or knowledgeable alternative medical practitioner, get an appointment with Sara Weinberg asap! read more

She is kind and caring, but I found that for issues relating to my health condition, she could not help me. She is more for pain management than digestive issues or constipation. read more

I have worked with Sara for many years now. She offers a very personalized acupuncture experience by spending the time of your appointment focused on you rather than seeing several patients at the same time. In the fall of 2013, out of total desperation with new and extreme menopause symptoms, I sought out an acupuncturist. After working with Sara for just a few weeks, all the debilitating symptoms were gone. I was amazed by the efficacy of her treatment, which included both acupuncture and a combination of Chinese herbs (I know, they don't taste great, but a bite of chocolate right after drinking the herb tea erases the unpleasant taste). It was a rough winter - shortly after she helped me get rid of the menopause problems, I threw out my lower back and then had problems with my left wrist. Sara improved both conditions with acupuncture and massage. While she was helping me with my various health problems, I greatly appreciated her deep knowledge and her willingness to share it without pretension; I never felt lectured and with each visit learned something about holistic healing of the body's aches and pains. Sara asked all the right questions to determine the exact nature of my health problems and was genuinely interested in finding the most helpful solutions. On top of that she has a gentle and warm personality. I highly recommend her services. read more

Sara is my "go to" acupuncturist when I struggle with back pain, e.g. tension/muscle spasms in the neck and back or issues with the sciatica nerve. She is very knowledgeable and has good advice, including exercises/stretching. I feel so much better after her acupuncture and other treatments (e.g. cupping or Chinese herbs)! I tried several other approaches, but Sara is the best. She is a good listener and will have a very individual, personal solution for your problem. read more

Sara has been (and still is) a real blessing. She helped me to start and sustain a postural journey and progressively diminish my back pain. Her gentle and contemporary needling technique has improved my overall health and helped me find some new focus and energy. Sara is caring, prepared, professional, and very generous with her time and knowledge. Would recommend to anyone! read more

I have found Sara Weinberg to be an amazing acupuncturist. She is a healer. Being treated for pain and anxiety, I experienced relief from both with the first treatment - especially from effects of arthritis in my foot. She listens carefully and explains her work as she goes. Sara was a tremendous support to helping me get my health on track. I was suffering from very painful muscle spasms in my neck and down my shoulders, and then a sprained ankle. Kaiser just kept giving me pain killers. Sara helped me with the immediate pain but more importantly, helped me understand the root of the problems (posture and stress) and how to make long term changes with my diet and exercises at home. She is wonderful! read more

Sara Weinberg is an amazing Acupuncturist and herbalist. I am an Acupuncturist myself and know she is the real deal. I go to her regularly for tune up's and various aches and pains and always come away feeling listened to, cared for and in experienced hands. At the start of the Covid19 crisis, she used her extensive know how and was able to prescribe treatments, advice and herbs that knocked out whatever symptoms I was experiencing. I trust her implicitly - she gets my top recommendation. read more

I have been working with Sara for less than a year for digestive issues as well as general energy level. Since I've seen her my digestion which has been chronically out of wack for 10 years or more has come into at least a pattern of disturbance. I love working with Sara. She's got a wide range of focus which allows her to come at your health issues from several angles, which I love. I find that she uses her intuition and her training in perfect concert. I feel like we are moving together toward well balanced health for me, and that is invaluable. I can't recommend her enough! read more

Sara is a caring, warm and talented acupuncturist. Sessions with her are relaxing and I feel well looked after -- I also enjoy chatting with her every time! Sara goes into far more detail about the particular health issue that you have, than most any other acupuncturist I have seen. She also seeks to find out exactly what spots are tender on your body so she knows where to place the needles, which I also think is a sign of excellent care. Also, Sara recommends herbs and/or physical exercises to work on the problems, so she really approaches the physical problem in a holistic way. I look forward to acupuncture appointments with Sara which have significantly helped me with a couple health/pain issues. One of the best parts of working with Sara is that she accepts health insurance -- which many acupuncturists don't -- so this reduces the cost of the sessions. Finally, Sara's office is very conveniently located at the Alcatraz/College Avenue intersection so it's easy to combine a shopping trip with an acupuncture appointment. read more

In late January, after months of suffering from what seemed like an unbreakable cycle of migraines that were unresponsive to prescription medications, my doctor recommended trying acupuncture, which led me to Sara. I am a pretty tricky client to treat because my migraines stem from several other conditions: hormonal imbalances, pcos (poly cystic ovary syndrome), food allergies, GI problems and stress/anxiety. However, from my first visit with Sara, I was impressed by how comforted I was by her presence and her space. During the first visit, we spent a good amount of time talking through my history, my health problems and therapies I have tried before. Additionally, Sara told me about therapies and techniques that she utilizes in treatments, what to expect during and after treatments, and was very honest about possible short and long term outcomes of treatments. My treatments generally involve acupuncture, massage and microcurrent therapy in addition to dietary and supplement counseling. During a typical appointment we'll first talk about any changes or developments since my last visit, then we will work to bring down the intensity of the headache, ease nausea that I get from the migraines, and she usually gives me recommendations to try before the next visit. I have also seen Sara for other concerns: cold & flu, allergies/sinus problems, exhaustion and a shoulder injury. All of which she has been more than willing to offer suggestions and successful treatments. One of Sara's strengths is working to find different dietary and/or supplemental & herbal combinations that work without ever making me feel overwhelmed or confused. One of the things that I appreciate most about my work with Sara is her persistence in finding what works best for the individual patient, even if that means pulling from several fields of her knowledge. In addition, I feel that for the first time, I am receiving the help and tools I need to prevent my migraines from recurring, not just treating them as they occur. During my first visit and most visits since, I have experienced immediate relief of my symptoms during the treatment and since starting to see Sara I have noticed a decrease in the intensity of my migraines, a decrease in the duration of the migraines and a decrease in the frequency of recurring migraines. While my migraines aren't cured, working with Sara has made it so they interfere much less with my daily life and routine. Another thing that I must testify to is Sara's energy that is calm, comforting and healing. In addition to relief from pain, I leave her space feeling much more clear-headed and with a new sense of energy. There have been days where I felt so terrible that I thought I couldn't make it in for a treatment, but my confidence that I will leave feeling much better brings me in. I would absolutely recommend seeking treatments from Sara and I can personally attest to her ability to treat many symptoms or ailments. She is also very good at maintaining contact with clients and is timely at returning phone calls (a lot of people aren't these days!). I feel that I have benefited greatly from my work with Sara and cannot say enough good things about her as a professional and a person. See for yourself, she's amazing! read more

Sara is a lifesaver! More than a year ago I was suffering from painful symptoms related to fibroids. I also experienced frequent urination because the fibroids were growing near my bladder. This interrupted my life. A family member suggested I see Sara. Within days of my first visit, the symptoms subsided by 75%. The combination of the Chinese herbs and acupuncture helped tremendously and brought normalcy back to my life. Sara is very professional and caring of her clients. Her skills and knowledge were pivotal in getting my health and wellness back on track. I highly recommend her. read more

Sara is a veteran provider and has been treating me for approximately 8 months now for spams in my neck, back, and right piriformis. I am a personal trainer and have seen many acupuncturists in my life. She is truly gifted and has successfully treated those conditions so that I rarely feel pain in those areas any more. She is very compassionate and knowledgeable about herbs, diet, and of course, anatomy. She is also able to dispassionately compare western and eastern models regarding anatomy and energy flow, which is nice since I am familiar with both those models as well. She's very intelligent, and intuitive, and accommodating to my many requests. We work really well together. She has also done an astrological reading with me which was amazing, incorporating again Chinese and Western Zodiacs, and accurately painted a picture of my life, challenges, strengths, and lessons I have learned and am continuing to unfold. Good job Sara! Thanks. Ted read more

I highly recommend Sara Weinberg, M.S., L.Ac. I have been one of her patients since 2005. I came to her suffering from bizarre vomiting migraine-like headaches. I would vomit off and on for up to 17 hours, and these episodes were happening two or three times a month. I was missing work, losing weight, and my hair was thinning out from the trama of these violent episodes. Conventional doctors couldn't cure them. Sara has a razor-sharp intuition into people's ailments, and she tirelessly works to explore all possible healing modalities. Sara quickly determined my ailment was digestion related. She gave me several different herbs, along with acupuncture. She gave some dietary suggestions that were not extreme or difficult to follow. The episodes began to decrease, and over year's time they dramatically decreased. My hair grew normally and I re-gained the weight I lost. I currently only get these episodes once a year or so, usually under very stressful situations or where I accidentally ingest food that is a bit off. I continue to see Sara, although not as often. She also works on relieving my minor knee and back pain, and has prescribed herbs for other health issues. I am a much healthier person, therefore a much happier person, because of her. She charges a very fair rate and never tries to pressure anyone into getting extra treatments that they don't really need. In addition, she is quite personable and has a great sense of humor! Once again, I cannot say enough good things about Sara Weinberg. Her service as an acupuncturist is amazing! Amy Ballard Rich May 2010 read more

Sara is an awesome healer. My consistent experience over time has been immediate, measurable, and sometimes even dramatic positive results, with her treatments. She's an excellent listener with many types of skills: traditional Chinese medicine with acupuncture and herbs, dietary counseling, somatic work, massage, and Egoscue Postural Alignment. Sara is conscientious, thorough, and compassionate; gentle, smart, and inquisitive, with a determination to find solutions that deliver well-being. I appreciate all this about her and especially that in her healing practice, she uses her vast knowledge and her heart. I feel blessed to have this dedicated woman on my care team and highly recommend Sara's services. read more

Sara is an exceptional acupuncturist and herbalist, whose curiosity, professionalism, and compassion are apparent in every session. I came to her with severe back pain and muscle spasms plus allergies and sleeplessness. Because of her attentiveness, I noticed immediate results and after several months every issue was ameliorated. Not only did the muscles in my back feel better from her treatments, my posture improved with increased flexibility. She also made astute recommendations for Chinese herbs and homeopathic medicines that, in addition to her acupuncture treatments, cured my allergy symptoms and sneezing fits. I am so grateful that I found Sara as working with her has had an immensely positive impact on my health and well-being! I've had an attraction to acupuncture for about 5 years, about as along as I have been studying as a yoga practitioner. I've struggled with chronic pain in my shoulder due scoliosis and overuse, which was the primary reason I reached out to Sara for help. Though, because of my basic understanding of the Chinese Medicine via my Yin Yoga practice, I was hoping I we would also be able to tackle some of the health issues that I have struggled to successfully address and treat for most of my life, and through yoga alone, such as difficulty with digestion, irregular menstruation, and migraines. Sara helped me to feel not only that I could manage all of these issues, but she also provided me with an understanding of how they were related to one another. Sara broke down how I could approach my overall health as an integrated system, and worked with me to make a plan that fit my lifestyle and my goals. I am so appreciative for the time she took to figure out what made sense for my schedule and my finances, as well as practices that were accessible to me based on my physical limitations and things that I already loved to do. During our sessions, I always felt comfortable and supported and most importantly, like we were team approaching my personal health. Furthermore, Sara regularly provided me with a few suggestions such as small dietary changes, books, classes or other resources, and occasional herbal supplements that I could take, so that my healing could extend beyond our weekly appointments. Because of Sara, I feel more empowered and in tune with my health than I ever have before. And this is quite a feat as I have been studying wellness practices for quite some time now. But Sara was the key to tying everything together for me. Now, I feel all the pieces are in their right place and the picture of my own happiness and well being is clear ahead of me! read more
