I don't know what I would have done with out their exceptional customer service...I felt like they really cared. Thanks Castronovo's for being great at what you do. The wedding was a success and my dress was AMAZING! Cheers!

Because I am a plus-size women my selection of dresses were limited and few, so I was pleased to find a Maid of Honor dress that reflected my style and would fit well. So far so good right?! WRONG! This is where my troubles begin. After discussions with the owner of what color would best suit me, the dress was orderd in the wrong color. I found this out in the second week of June by a chance phone call-checking on the progress of the dress. I was assured the dress would be delivered within the time to have two dress fittings and any alterations that would be needed. After getting the dress home, I find a spot on the scarf that hangs down in the back of the dress. I take it to Castronovas, they remove the spot-whew! Onward we go...So the day of the wedding is here, I put the dress on only to find stains over the entire front of the dress! I call Castronovas and tell them the problem and I will be returning the dress for them to fix. Oh! I also have a hole in Organza along the outer bust line. The "fine" people at Castronovas tell me that the stains are from perspiration and food stains , that I had the dress for 4 days before the wedding and I should have seen them beforehand and also Organza is a very fragile material. The hole was most likely made from me stretching and moving my arm. Why would I take a $250.00 dollar dress out of it's protection? They're solution to the problem?... They offered me $10.00 dollar for me to have the dress dry cleaned. REALLY!! This was my time to look like a woman, instead I was stained, humiliated, and embarrassed.

They charged $179 because they said it was a rush job even though I was able to get it about 4 days after going in. So that was irritating. However, the bigger issue was that about an hour or two after putting it on for the wedding, it started to unravel at the bottom. So, all night it would catch on my feet and I'd have to remove balls of thread. When I called after the wedding to complain I was told that it was because it was beaded and that basically that's what happens!! To which I said, "had I known that I wouldn't have had it shortened." So, buyer beware if looking at beaded dresses. And though they "repaired" it, the bottom is now jagged so I don't feel like I can even sell it.

And with them being limited in stock, I didn't want to run that risk. For one, it came in late. As soon as I received my dress i set up an appointment w their alteration's department, & they recommended I return that dress for a size down bc it would cost more for them to alter the dress I have than for me to just order a new one in a small size. I mentioned to them that dress had almost ran out of stock when I ordered mine & it got here late. They checked online for me showing they had a size 2 available & REASSURED me that if I return the dress I already had for that smaller one it would come in bc it was available but it would take a month to come in but they REASSURED me that as soon as it came in (June 29th) they could rush the alterations and have it ready for me to wear for the wedding I'm attending (7/9) they reassured me over & over the latest they would have it ready for me is July 7th. Here I am being patient for an entire month, it was now July 1st & I call the store to follow up on their call they said they would give me as soon as it got delivered. I call & waited on hold back & forth for 15-20mins bc they couldn't find my order. They finally get back to me & tell me the new dress I PAID for never got delivered to their store bc they were OUT OF STOCK & that dress was no longer available. To make things worse the girl taking care of me over the phone, not only would she NOT let me speak or vent in any way (mind you I'm not one to lash out on ppl, I've worked doing customer service most of my life, I understand it's not their fault, she's just answering the phone.. I get it. But this was me trying to express myself in the most calm way) she continued to keep talking over me & cutting me off, making sure she wouldn't have to deal w me talking. That just made me feel worse than I originally did. She apologized for the inconvenience but would not let me talk & just kept telling me there was nothing they can do & to just take it up with corporate & that their LACK OF ORGANIZATION skills was now a corporate issue. I tried to tell her that I wish they would have informed me earlier as they had an entire MONTH to let me know. The wedding I have to attend is now 6 days away & I have absolutely nothing to wear. I'm a very tiny petite person. I have to alter any and every dress I need. There's no way I'll be able to find anything to wear for this wedding I was already nervous to go to. I was excited waiting for dress I've had my eye on to come in as it's a comfy dress that I feel hid alot of my insecurities. I wish I would've stayed w my original dress size 4 & had them just alter that one like I originally wanted. Now I have no dress. More anxiety and insecurities than I did in the beginning. I feel horrible about myself & even more after the way I was shut down. And with no compensation in any way (besides the supposed refund I'm waiting for) for the inconvenience I just encountered. You had a whole month & said nothing. I'm thinking I will pass on the wedding. Thanks for that. I now know why dresses here are so affordable. You get.. what you pay for.

Joanne is seriously unprofessional, unstable & dangerous. I decided to take my wedding dress to…read moreher for alterations. She was super nice for our 1st appointment & gave me a verbal quote of no more than $200 for the work I needed done. 2nd appointment she "mixed me up with a different Crystal" after I had taken time off work & my mom drove an hour to join me for my appointment. She assured me she would make it right on my bill. During my third appointment she hadn't done the work she said would be done & tried to tell me that my dress looked better without the lace medallions on it, I told her I wanted them on. For the pick up appointment I called the day before (I caught on real quick to she has an awful memory/customer service) she assured me my dress was done. My two friends came with me for pick up and it was not done. There were pins in the bust, around the hem & the medallions she put back on were visibly crooked and 5 inches off of the ground. I let her know the main center one needed redone & that I would call back for an appointment the next day. This is when Joanne got nasty. I asked if I could call her that evening to make sure for my own peace of mind that my dress was done for pick up the next morning. She stated no that she would be with her husband & that she would text me when my dress was done. 9 pm no text. No text back. 9:30 pm I call her and she was very nasty saying the dress was done. I arrive with my friend for pick up Wednesday. She said nothing to me, refused to zip me & then nastily said "How are you going to do this" when it was time to pay my bill. I asked if we could go over the bill (since there were many forgotten appointments and mistakes). The bill was nearly $500 after she quoted me $200. I let her know that she was jacking her rates bc she was mad at me that I would pay what we talked about & she could take me to court for the difference. She tried to threaten my job by name dropping. I again told her she could take me to court or call the police. She got VERY angry & told me my dress was not leaving for my wedding in 2 days. I let her know the dress was my property and she could take me to court or call the police. She then got even more angry and yelled, "I will rip those medallions off your dress & someone else can sew them on." Feeling unsafe I let her know my friend was taking the dress to the car and that I was going to stay and discuss the bill with her. She darted out of her chair yelling, "I will rip those medallions off" charging at my friend. I stepped in front of my friend to protect her & the dress &JoAnne threw me into her bookshelf, started trying to scratch my face, pulled out my hair extensions & pulled my friend down and trapped us in her home. I let her know she did not have a right to hold us against our will that we both felt unsafe and wanted to go outside. Joanne refused to let us leave. I called 911. While on the phone Joanne threatened to get her gun. Dispatch heard this and told us to find a backdoor or another way out immediately. My friend managed to escape out the back door. I continued to yell that I felt unsafe and wanted to go outside. She refused. 911 was telling her on speaker to let us out, she would not comply. My friend managed to open the front door & told Joanne to move, she wouldn't My friend then pushed her so I could escape & Joanne began strangling my friend. We both managed to get outside and dispatch told us to leave the property in case she got her gun. We decided to not press charges. Even the police said they would be pissed with the quality of work on my dress (visibility crooked!) and were able to finally have Joanne produce a pricing guide showing the final price should have been $225 not $500. The police paid $25 of my bill because they said she was crazy and wanted to give me a wedding gift. If you value your time, clothing and life stay away from this women. PS. Her house smells like cat pee and the carpet is GROSS. She also doesn't wear a mask.
