They questioned me about my call and making the appointment. I said, okay, I'll do the senior level today with Alayna. Rather than provide good customer service or apologize for their mistake, she came over and said, "You know what, I'm not cutting your hair. I'm not going to do it." I was able to book an appt. on line and Nicole sent an acknowledgement and directions. The salon was easy to find and had parking right in front. Nicole and her dog, Rosy greeted me with a warm welcome. It is clean and quiet, which I like. She made observations and recommendations about my hair and listened to what I wanted done. Since I have naturally curly hair, but have colored it for years, it has lost its curl and healthy shine. So a part of the cut and style I requested is to help bring back my curls. She did this and more! As an added bonus Nicole is friendly, open-minded, funny, intuitive, and is very easy to talk to...using an analogy, she is like wearing pair of your favorite shoes. She makes you feel good from start to finish. I didn't want to leave, and am looking forward to my next appointment! She got it close, so very close. If I was to be in CO longer, or if I ever visit and need a haircut, I will definitely try to get an appt with Ellie's Place. It usually takes a few cuts to really get a feel for my type of hair (thick and coarse and bleached). Then, on a previous visit, she repaired a very bad cut from a different vendor there in town. I think I've decided that most women wear their hair long in Durango, so cute short cuts are not very common.
