My guy needed to have his ears lowered and beard/mustache trimmed after 6 days on the road. This is a 2 barber salon. Tucson senior (been doing this a long while) and Tucson the son! Tucson senior took my guy's rough exterior on! Tucson was very attentive, talkative, gave some history of Durango and included me (the wife) in the conversation! Guy's hair is never cut the way we (I) want it, but Tucson listened and gave him the best cut we've seen for years! Additionally, he provided a nice close shave with a straight razor and hot towel. $20 and a thank you - we were out the door to the train museum. 6 blocks from the shop, and Guy realized he left his new sunglasses at the shop! We had just turned around to make the trek back, when Tucson (younger ) rode up on his Harley and handed Guy his sunglasses! Service, quality, friendly and all the folks who bad mouth the shop...well, maybe it was you, your Karma, attitude of privilege or some such. We highly recommend!! read more

I went into the shop with a basic barbershop expectation and walked out disappointed. Price and service don't match up. The cut was ok. He's a nice gentleman but I won't be going back. read more

Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits.... Actually, it was $15 for a good short haircut, a nice shave around the neck, and evened out sideburns. Last Friday, I came into Durango after being out in the San Juan Rift for over a week. My hair is thin on top and can get wild and woolly on the sides. It was time to get this mess under control and without any Donald Trump-like fly over. My main motivation however was that I was meeting Gayle in Portland the next day and wanted to look my best. All I had to do was walk down Main Street and Tucson's Salon de barber did the rest. read more

I could not believe how rude he was over the phone asking basic questions!! I literally called and found a different barber immediately after talking to him. I couldn't possibly imagine a worse way to treat customers. You literally shouldn't even bother calling this man. read more

1/4/2022. Best barber shop in Colorado! I've been coming here for 20 years. Great fade! Also, great with kids as my son had his first of many cuts here 10 years ago. After moving away from Durango, I always plan for a great cut when visiting every time from Denver. Respectful, fast, quality, and fun. read more

I've been to these guys three times. I tip barbers well and I tipped these guys well. I wish I would have went else where after that first experience. They gave me a nice hair cut; however, the service was terrible. They don't even have the common courtesy to say "hi" when you enter. I should have turned around at that moment. The last time I got my hair cut here, the barber left the shop to move his motorcycle without saying a word to me. He just left me sitting in the chair. I looked at the elder barber and said, "I guess he's done." read more

Not really barbers in the true sense. I was looking for blade head shave and a beard trim...took the guy 3 min to run a set of clippers over me for $27? At that price i would expect a cream, cut throat and hot towel treatment. Won't be back! read more

This is the place to go if you want your hair cut by a guy that cuts your hair the way he wants (as in, the only way he knows how) rather than how you would like it. Do yourself a favor and save the $20. Then you can buy a set of clippers and go with the local style... shave your head and wear a ball cap all the time. Too sad! read more

-employee "Tucsons...(mumbles rest)" -me "Hi how much is a regular mens haircut." -employee "What?!" -me "How much is a mens haircut?" -employee "We dont give out prices due to marketing, ok?" *hangs up* Wish i could review the quality of the haircut but the customer service will be keeping me away read more

We brought my elderly dad here for a haircut. His barber took excellent care of him and really went out of his way to make him feel special. Trimmed his mustache , sides, etc and I swear he looks 10 years younger. I highly recommend Tucson and want to again express my thanks for their service to my dad. read more

The worst haircut EVER!! Would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone! A blind man could have done a better job. read more

I have tried Tucson's several times over the past year and a half and have had both Tucson and Izzy cut my hair and it's largely been hit or miss. Neither can seem to cut a flat top level. After my visit before last when I got home my wife pointed out that it wasn't level. So I went back to the shop and asked Izzy to level it off - he said it was level and begrudgingly fixed it and then told me I should get a new wife. I went back yesterday to give them one more chance and this one was even worse then before. Izzy cut my hair and the top rear was noticeably un-level. I came home and asked my wife just just buzz it off and said I am done going to Tucson's. If I can't find another barber close by that can cut a flat top, I'll just have her buzz it for me. I really wanted things to work out at Tucson's as the local barber shop is going by the wayside. Just can't bring myself to give them any move money for a poor cut. Just in case anyone doesn't think I know a good barber when I find one - I am over 50 and have gone to a lot of barbers. Recently I spent a month in Aurora and found this Russian barber who gave me the best cut I've ever had in my life. Took his time, was careful to get it right and thanked me for my business. If it wasn't 7 hours away I'd head up there every month for my cut. read more

Came here at 430 on a Wednesday. Walked in, guy was just sitting in the barber chair. I asked how much for a straight shave, he said $40 which I thought was pretty pricey but I said okay since I really needed it. Then he says he's closing up. If he was closing up then why was he just sitting there waiting the whole time and shouldn't he have said that I'm the beginning. I don't know, but he was pretty rude to begin with read more

Walked it and met by two friendly barbers. The hair cut was well done and not rushed. If I need a haircut in Durango I will stop here again.

Friendly barber shop. When I entered both the hair stylist and owner intoduced themselves and shook my hand. $17 cut was near perfect.

I highly recommend this barber shop. Family owned and operated in downtown Durango. Father does traditional haircuts and very experienced son does traditional as well as new styles for men, women and children. Great place for the whole family. read more

Great local barbershop. Downtown location. Friendly barbers. $17 mens haircut. Has always done a great job.

Can not say enough about this barber shop. My husband got the best cut ever there. We were on our way home to Texas as far as New Mexico almost to Santa Fe when we noticed his phone missing. We called the barber shop and they had it. Mailed it to us. Thank you Izzy you went the extra mile. That's awesome and very unusual. read more

I am a U.S. Marine. I like a good tapered haircut which is hard to find these days at a regular unisex hair salon. Most of these places either give you the single-length buzz or don't cut any hair off at all! The guys at Tuscon's provide a great men's haircut, the old-fashioned way! read more

My family has been coming here since the place opened. Great, family owned place. They always do a great job, as far as my head goes.

Izzy and Tucson are fine old school small town barbers. This is not one of those fancy pants, metro-sexual, let's all start quivering with marvelous nonsense beauty salons...but it is exactly what it purports to be--a genuine, old fashioned, no frills, high quality barber shop. They offer quality business cuts, flat tops, buzz jobs, shaves, whatever might be needed by your average blue collar or white collar fellow in need of grooming. This particular gringo has been getting his haircut by both of these vatos for many years, including lots of flat tops and quite a few business cuts, not to mention a few shaves. I have nothing but praise for these guys and their talents. And they are always up for a good story and a laugh. One word of warning, though...If you meander into their shop with a pompous manner and an ego full of self-importance...well, they'll probably cut you down to size and send you back out the door with a wee bit of humble attitude to go with your damn snappy haircut. It's probably not the right place for Gucci tourists, sniffling wine snobs or overly-delicate country clubbers, but it's the perfect place for actual men who want a really good haircut. One of the extremely low reviews here was placed by a female who had previously reviewed two local salons for get this...manicures and pedicures. Which is just plain strange. As far as I know, Tucson's does not offer manicures and pedicures, nor do they cut women's hair. Another very low review was placed by a guy who said he had been getting his hair cut at Tucson's for a year and a half before Izzy apparently made a joke--which struck me as both hysterical and tasteful for a barbershop atmosphere--about the fellow's wife. I'm sure Izzy meant it as little more than good-natured ribbing, but the fellow clearly did not like it at all. And so now...He and the pedicure lady (the fellow's wife, perhaps?) don't like Tucson's at all, to the point where they both gave this fine barbershop a terrible, low rating of one. Well, that's just nonsense. Tucson's is the real deal if you want a good haircut. You Just gotta man up, amigo. read more
