Looking for an experienced professional barber experience in Durango. Reviews for Incognito were encouraging, so gave it a try! Did a walk in shortly after they opened. Cheryl welcomed me as she already had an appointment, but said another stylist would be in shortly. When that stylist showed up, she already had an appointment coming. Cheryl told me she would be done shortly and had an opening as she finished with her client. Cheryl was what I hoped for as she listened to what I wanted for a hair cut and then carefully completed the best hair cut I have had in the last two years! Was slightly more expensive than the chain barbers, but more than worth it if you want a haircut that looks and feels right. read more

Doug is a good barber. Keeps it simple and well priced. The shop is a cool spot and close to everything.

I have extremely thick, course, curly hair so when I travel to another state I spend hours looking up salons & stylists who are able to do my hair which is difficult. After reading the reviews I called Incognito, introduced myself & told my needs to Sarah. She immediately said Andrea had similar hair and was also a master colorist, so I made an appointment for a few days later. When I arrived Andrea greeted me with a hug, so friendly and extremely knowledgeable as we talked about my hair, i showed her all the products I use from Color Wow and FHI hairdryer. She loved all the products and because she knew what she was doing I made weekly appointments for the rest of the year. we are planning on buying a home in Durango so I found my salon too. I made an appointment for my husband with Doug, the owner, who is a master Barber for the following week and he gave him the best haircut he has had in a long time. He took his time while having a nice conversation with my husband. The salon has a great relaxing vibe with sofa & chairs In the entry, kinda private with beautiful plants, friendly staff and clients. Misty cut my hair and totally ROCKED it! She is a professionally trained barber, not just a stylist! The training she has shows in the quality of the cut I received. Taren at Incognito is the best hairdresser I've ever had and I've lived in London, LA, Portland and Santa Fe. Seriously, I drive 4 hours to visit my sister and see Taren every time. I first met Taren on New Year's Eve when I booked a last minute emergency appointment. After six hours in someone else's chair, my hair was orange, platinum, brassy and fried. Taren willingly took a 3pm appointment on New Years Eve to fix someone else's mistake. She responded with professionalism, kindness and expertise. I walked out of the salon with a whole new hair style. I cannot recommend anyone more highly than Taren. I won't go to anyone else anymore. read more

Not a pretentious salon, very down to earth with a great vibe! Whitney was my stylist and she rocked it! I have crazy thick, unruley frizzy hair and she has been the only one to manage it! She Colored, Highlighted, cut and gave me a keratin blowout in just over 3 hours. She is experienced and fast, but didn't feel rushed. I always come to this salon to get my hair done by Walter. He does a great job! Incognito is tucked away in an alley off of 7th and it's quite tiny inside. Everyone is friendly and they have plenty of reading material if you have to wait a bit. Walter always cuts my hair really nicely and is fun to talk to :) Today he styled my hair wavy after cutting it but I like it when he blow dries it smooth so he changed it after I let him know I preferred the straight look. $40 for a wash and cut + whatever tip you wish to give. read more

I have been in miserable relationship with my stylist for years and was afraid to try a new person because I've had bad experiences in Durango. I went to Taren because of the outstanding reviews she had and she exceeded my expectations. I needed help with a new look and her ability to listen to what I wanted and help me pick and amazing color and cut was astounding! The color is perfect and the cut is maybe the best I've ever had. Beyond everything from she told me when I left that if I go home and don't love any aspect she would have me in to fix it to my liking free of charge! I was amazed at the level of service she provided plus how much she cares about the happiness of her customers. This place is awesome!!! The Ambiance is relaxed and the employees make you feel very welcomed! Inside it is clean and a modern rustic look, with awesome music in the background! Very fun flayout Tarren was my stylist and I was not disappointed! She did exactly what I had in mind, and I feel like all I had to do was point and grunt, and not go into a long description about what I needed done( I'm not a stylist, I don't know the terminology!) I went to this salon after reading all the great reviews it had. It does have a nice atmosphere about it. And everyone seemed really nice. But after spending some time with the stylist and showing her a picture of what I wanted. Then getting a haircut much shorter and looking a lot like a mullet. I have to rank this place lower.
