Poor service, technician not willing to listen. Zero diagnosis, walks in and first charges credit card for service fee before entering in. Verbally says compressor needs replacement if fridge temperature is low without looking. I called for service because temperature was low, if they know that the only option is replace compressor for low temperature then why to send technician. I think they only want to earn service fee by doing nothing. Don't use their service. Replacement rates are also extremely high compared to others. read more

Secure Appliance Repair came to fix a faulty oven burner. A part was installed and the problem was fixed. The work appeared straight forward and a small part with a couple of wires was installed. We were charged over $790 for the part and twice charged for labor, $290 for replacing the "bake heat system assembly" and $150 for the disassembly. Those tasks were done in less than an hour. I cannot find the part he described on the web. The invoice did not identify the part or give a part number. I wanted to know what the part would sell for. I called the company and they wouldn't give me a part number. I then read other reviews (too late). I concur that this company is a RIP OFF. Do not use them under any circumstance. read more

Warning... Heed the bad reviews. Consummate ripoff artists. Here is the cliff notes version. Vlad came out. Was super irritating. Would not answer questions about what he was doing to my dishwasher and constantly interrupted me. He basically diagnosed the problem based on my comments. Told me it was the pump. Came back to replace it. Twice. After that the appliance still failed. Called him back 2 or 3 more times. Failed every time after. We left town for over 3 weeks. Came back it still failed. This time they wanted me to pay again as their work guarantee expired. Angered I hung up on them and called another repair service. Who DID diagnose the problem properly. Did far more work to find the problem than Vlad ever did and showed me exactly what he was doing at every step. I was now sure Vlad was either screwing with me or was incompetent. So I took them to small claims for the money I paid. They were difficult to serve but the instant papers were served they offered to pay me back everything. I think it because they knew they would lose and didn't want the hassle. Anyone who has been ripped off by them I highly recommend taking them to small claims. The guy showed up to look at my dishwasher that had some water sitting at bottom. He touched one button to run it, and said "Oh you need a new pump". I inquired about a new dishwasher and he said those run $1500 with installation. He made a 30 second call to his so-called manager to order the pump and said it would be $699- for a pump! plus the $99 dispatch fee. and 50% had to be paid up front which is not allowed since that is labor..ha Consumers better know their rights when dealing with this company!!. Upon reviewing the receipt (I had to ask for), it shows a $100 Shipping charge (for a very small part) $285 for 30-day warranty (WHAT???) Every company I have used gives you a warranty FREE. Then he wanted a tip on top of all that. I paid since I believed him and had another company come out the next day for a second opinion. The second company who I actually had an appt with was YOUR APPLIANCE. He ran two cycles on my dishwasher and said it was absolutely fine!!! I then called back Secure Applicance and demanded a refund since I don't need a $700 pump and threatened to call the Better Business Bureau (which I willl do anyway) in Sacramento as they are actually out of Sacramento even though it shows San Jose. They are a SCAM, SCAM AND SCAM! The $99 is non-refundable and the guy spends 30 seconds and already has his mind made up what he will charge you for before setting foot in your home. Will was my tech and he was AWFUL! He is demanding, as I told him my appt was canceled (and had proof on my phone) but he demanded to look at it anyway, which was a huge mistake ( $99 one on my part). This company needs to be shut down as they go against state laws.. their charges are unreal.. its a SCAM and they have NO license! I was lucky to get my $297 refunded but not the $99 for the useless wrong explanation Will the russian tech gave me. He said he knew what he was doing and didn't have to check anything to know the problem. Well, he was WRONG! Will is the first bad mistake of the company and then the dispatch lady is not any better. Once I canceled, she asked why and I said I found a better price and she still had her tech come anyway and with his strong accent, it sounded likehe was from the company I had called. They will find multiple problems with your appliance, charge you to replace different parts, ultimately tell you they need to replace your appliance, mess up that order and keep all your money! The technician ordered a dishwasher that doesn't even match the color of our kitchen, then angrily bully us insisting that it is the same color etc. We are now out $1,000 and still need to go find a new dishwasher. I agree with other reviews that this company is a SCAM! The technician from Secure Appliance Repair was assigned the job through a service called Appliance Repair Today. When he arrived he did not mention the company he worked for and spend only five minutes "diagnosing" the problem with our washing machine which was not cycling. He then said the timer needed to be replaced and quoted a price of over $800 for the repair with half of the cost due up front. I asked him to send me a detailed invoice which he only sent several days later after I made several more requests. I was stunned to see a cost of $100 just for shipping the part, and what appeared to be additional costs added on. I immediately canceled the service call to actually fix the machine and requested a refund. They said they could only give a partial refund and would charge a restocking fee. It turned out the issue had nothing to do with the timer, but was a broken door latch. Another company diagnosed the issue over the phone and charged only $100 to fix the problem. I would absolutely avoid using either Secure Appliance Repair or Appliance Repair Today for any appliance repairs. They both appear to be very questionable companies. read more

Wish I saw the reviews before calling. This is a scam they don't want to do the repair unless they can charge a fortune. I told them what the problem was and asked if they could give me a price range for repair which they did cost for them to come out and up to $250 with parts. After 5 minutes spent with diagnostics they guy said the part needed was going to be $500 and they would come back and replace for $200. I looked up the part you can get it from Samsung for $84 dollars. Great way to make $99 show up at someone house for 10 minutes and walk away with a $100 which they charge before coming in. DO NOT USE SECURE APPLIANCE REPAIR!!! I had a washing machine leak and called for service. Will, the technician, came out. I was quoted a cost of $600 ($300 part) to replace a rubber gasket (bellow). I thought that was high, but Will claimed it was worth it because new machines break down more than the older models. He required I pay for half the repair cost plus the $99 service call fee in advance. After he left, I looked at my paperwork and realized my washer was 15 years old, and thought it was not worth putting $600 into a 15-year-old appliance. I also looked online for the cost of the gasket, and found the price to be $168, rather than the $300 he quoted me. I called to cancel my repair appointment, and was told I could not cancel. If I did, I would have to pay a restocking fee of $59 and a shipping fee of $100, which was outrageous considering the gasket weighs only a couple of pounds. Not a good company to do business with! I filed a dispute regarding the charge with my credit card company and am awaiting a resolution. read more

Will arrived on time and determined that my dishwasher was not emptying properly. (I had already given him that hint before he arrived.) He cleared the clogged drain lines (no parts were needed) for $435!!! That's quite a hefty hourly rate as the entire job took less than 45 minutes. My choice was to pay $85 for diagnostics and start over with someone else or get it done and over with. I used their service in December 2023 for my refrigerator. They charged $85 for initial visit to identify the problem. I had the typical issues that most of the refrigerators go through after a few years - Ice getting built up in the ice maker and water leakage under deli drawer. I came to know that these are common issues only after paying the price. My mistake, should have researched a little more. Will from Secure Appliance Repair came to identify the issue, was on time. He spent less than 10 minutes to identify the issues, said he had to replace 3 parts to fix ice build-up issue and defrost the evaporator assembly. I wanted to get this fixed soon as I was expecting some guests during that time and hence availed their. Will ordered the parts, came back a few days later to replace the parts, again came on time. He replaced the parts, defrosted evaporated assembly and left. I asked him to leave the old parts, but he took them with him. Water still leaked, called back. He said I have to replace the evaporator cover. He said that I can buy the cover myself and call him to fix it. He also said that the cover size may vary from model to model and if I buy the wrong size, he won't come again. He was a bit rude at that point. I replaced the cover myself. Water still leaks. Now after six months I am seeing traces of ice build again. Have a feeling that the parts he replaced were not new. I don't have any evidence of that. Net net, total waste of time & money. $85 initial visit, arguably a scam. If you fall for their subsequent service, it's a treat for them. read more

This is a scam to extract 85 dollars from us. They say 85 dollars to come out but will deduct from repair if they do it. We needed the indoor oven door replaced because it cracked. The repairman came and said 20 minutes to give us an estimate. After awhile he looks at us and quoted 768 dollars. WTF! We can buy the entire oven for cheaper than that. The repairman tried to tell us the part was 500 dollars. I knew that was a lie. I looked up the part it was 184 dollars. He said if we get the part he would install it for 200 bucks labor. The companies service is a big fraud. they charge you 100$ before any repair and do it so any work. I had an issue with Bosch dishwasher heatpump. I called them for fixing and they didn't do anything but charged 100$. finally the guy says call Bosch and order the part which I already had talked. Totally a fraud company and horrible service.
