Went here with my brother and mom and we really enjoyed it! I honestly think it might be the best ramen I've had in ALL of the greater Nashville area and that's a strong statement. I had the kimchi ramen and everything was super fresh and well balanced. My brother got the 3 roll lunch special and it was very cheap and filling. We grew up eating authentic Korean food so I requested a couple of the side dishes as well. They weren't what you'd get at a top Korean restaurant BUT considering this place has so many different things, I was pleased with the kimchi, bean sprouts and spinach. Came for lunch and ordered sushi. We ordered the EBI tempura roll, Spider roll, and Eel roll. The ell roll was the only roll that was normal size, but it was soaked in eel sauce. The EBI tempura roll was around 4 times the size of the Eel roll and fell apart because it wasn't rolled good. The Spider roll was the biggest of the them all and fell apart as soon as you touched it. All of the sushi rolls were extremely salty. Overall the food was edible and not the worst sushi we've had in the Nashville area, but we can't recommend them over Hana. The price of the rolls were extremely affordable though when compared to other sushi restaurants. read more

He was very knowledgeable on the menu, attentive to our guests needs and just a pleasure as our server. We had no idea he was training from his knowledge he was on the menu. He built rapport with us and with me being in the restaurant business for over 26 years I told him that during training you are going to make mistakes thats why it's called training! You are lucky to have a young man like Parker as apart of your team! When I come back to visit my friends we will definitely be requesting Parker, well done my guy! It's decent as far as what's available locally in Hendersonville. I say this because I don't think the food is fantastic, and because there is such a lack of options in the area. A lot of people love this place, and I honestly think it's because they've never been exposed to better. I'm really not trying to offend, but I used to live in a city with several great Japanese restaurants. I've had a lot of good sushi in my life. Sapporo to me is... meh. The sushi rice isn't seasoned well. Seems like a minor thing, but it makes a world of difference in flavor. I've tried this place 3-4 times now and same thoughts each time. "It's not bad, but it's not great..." I went back recently because they are now offering Korean Bbq with the table top grills. One of my favorite elements of Korean food is banchan (the side dishes.) They only served 6-7. They were mostly bland and single note flavors (and no braised potatoes -- my favorite.) Our server was nice. She asked if we had eaten/cooked Korean Bbq before (to which we answered yes,) she took our order, and started our grill before leaving to get our drinks. Someone else dropped off the meat. Assuming all was well, we went ahead and started cooking. Part of the table top grill experience is cooking your own food. Meat had just hit the grill when suddenly our server ran up saying, "Wait wait wait! One moment!" Of course we stopped, unsure if we missed something vital in our process. Our server proceeds to take over the cooking. That was fine. I thought maybe she just wanted to get us started. Well, she never left. I tried to address it in a subtle way by asking, "Are you required to cook everyone's food?" She said it's just something they were doing because people in this area don't really understand Korean bbq yet -- to which I reminded her we have had the experience before. I continued to imply we were capable. Still she stayed for a good 10-15 minutes cooking all our food, and serving it on our plates in the order and quantity she deemed we should eat I suppose. My family and I came here after hearing rave reviews from friends about how good the sushi was (not pictured because it was devoured too quickly). The sushi was fresh and delicious, but the real winners for us were the noodle and ramen dishes! All of us loved our meals, and my husband even said the ramen seriously reminded him of Ippudo in NYC (that's a VERY good thing). The employees were so nice and hilariously freaked out over how spicy everyone wanted their food, which made for some pretty funny interaction between us all. Pros: Bibimbob was delicious, I ordered it with a side of kimchi which took it to the next level. The portion size was large and enough for me to share with others in my party. Cons: the katsu don came with steamed rice and absolutely zero sauce nor was there an egg as advertised. It was a sad meal. The server was so busy and it took so long to get our food that we didn't inquire further. The restaurant was super packed and I understand it gets hectic but we never got a refill on drinks and it took about 30 minutes to get our food. The food also came out about 10 minutes apart. Rolled the dice on Sapporo to break the norm and make the wifey happy. Wound up making myself ecstatic. Got the Silvera, Nine One One and Cherry Blossom rolls. Huge + plus quality fish. Silvera was my fav. Got my kid some salmon cut rolls, very generous with the fish. Salmon was fatty and fresh. Seaweed salad, gyoza and shrimp shumai rounded out the order. All respectable, shumai was really good. The black vinegar sauce with the gyoza was money as well. $70 but hey, you get what you pay for. This is sushi quality that reminds me of Los Angeles. Wish I had a place like this, at this understandable price point in Austin. Damn respectable roll game here. read more

A couple months ago, I saw this place being built. I'm Korean and I was excited to have a Korean restaurant open just minutes from my house. When they opened, I made an effort to give this restaurant a try. First, the prices are somewhat expensive. There were some things in the lower teens but the things I wanted to try were mid teens to 20$. Secondly, the number of Korean items is very little. The restaurant is mostly Japanese food of all types, especially sushi. Don't get me wrong, I love Japanese food but I was mainly looking for Korean dishes. There are only about 5 Korean dishes on a multi-page menu. I ordered a Shoyu Kalbi Ramen bowl (14.95) and the 2 sushi roll lunch special (6.99), which includes a ginger salad and miso soup. The sushi was decent overall. My rolls were the spicy tuna and salmon/avocado roll. One peeve of mine is how some sushi places mince/shred the fish and then put it in the roll. It's like they had leftover scraps of fish and didn't want to waste it. You end up with a pasty fish concoction. Now, the salmon avocado roll had a whole piece of salmon in it. It pleased me. However, the spicy tuna was that minced fish concoction I mentioned before. The flavor was OK but just the texture of minced fish is just off putting. The ginger salad was typical of all Japanese restaurants. The miso however, had good flavor. I like my miso soups to be on the salty side. The Shoyu Kalbi Ramen was very good. Nice portions of enoki mushrooms, spinach, bamboo shoots, and other veggies. Kalbi only consisted of 2 chunks of Korean short ribs (L.A. style). My only wish is that they add more noodles. I mean for 14.95, it's pricier than traditional Ramen places (I've been to them in New York). Service was very good. Attentive waiter for sure. Overall, I'll probably return, but not sure when because of the limited Korean options and high prices. read more

Been here a few times now, highly recommend the Korean BBQ side if you've never had it. Great for celebrations or events as it's a little pricey but well worth it. If you go just for the regular side you can order off the menu for sushi and other things. First time I went I had the Chicken and Steak Teriyaki, it is the best teriyaki I've ever had. The last couple times I had the Korean BBQ and it was great, the short rib is my favorite and I love the chili sauce they provide. We went again last night and ate on the regular side and I got the Spicy Pork entree. It's listed as VERY spicy but the waitress advised me it's not as spicy as advertised and she was correct. It was absolutely delicious. It did have a building heat but had such good flavor and was probably one of my favorite things I've eaten here. I should've taken pictures but I forgot.
