Tables were moving in and out pretty quickly. I was really happy to see a $10 appetizer section. Tried the mushroom caps and risotto balls and loved them both! They also have a great cocktail list. Was definitely not expecting for a live magician to be there! He walked around and performed tricks for each individual table, how fun!! The daily events they have and the speakeasy ambiance make this bar truly stand out as a gem. Prices are quite reasonable as well.

The place is quirky and on theme. The servers were all dressed up according to the theme as well. They were courteous and offered us free Prosecco since the bartender was delayed to arrive due to traffic. The cocktails were really good - I had an old fashioned and a negroni. I would've liked more fancier cocktails for the price though. One thing about the place is that the tables are quite close to each other so it can get a bit louder as the night progresses. Maybe fewer tables with shorter time slots might be a good idea. We only tried the stuffed mushroom caps and it was delicious. The program of the night was a magic show. The magician was witty and had quite a few tricks up his sleeve. I would like to check out the psychic reading in future too!

What can I say about Clove that does this restaurant justice? 5/5 on all accounts - food, staff,…read moreservice, atmosphere. The food here is so good that nothing else matters. Just an A+ experience all around. All I can say is WOW!!! I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine, so I've tried a bunch of Indian restaurants, but this is one of the top! I've never had Indian food this good. The chef knows his stuff. I think the reason why the food is so good is how much heart and soul they put into their cooking. You can taste the passion in every mouthful, and it makes the whole experience even more special. Forget about the ordinary Indian places you've been to; Clove takes things to a whole new level. The flavours here are unlike anything you've ever tasted. Actually talking about it is making me hungry for them again. You can tell there's real thought, real skill, real flavour behind everything. Food of course speaks for itself, nothing I could beat anywhere else! Clove is one of those rare places that gets everything right -- atmosphere, service, mocktails, and food. The ambiance is stunning, and you're immediately greeted by warm, welcoming staff. And if you want the full experience, ask for Simran. She's the star of the show. Perfect recommendations, amazing service, and just genuinely makes you feel welcomed. She deserves all the praise! All the flavours hit the right notes in a perfect symphony. Every dish is packed with flavour, and you can really tell how much thought goes into the ingredients and cooking. The flavours are bold but well balanced, and nothing feels overdone. Each course stands out on its own, and everything tastes consistently excellent. For the main course, we had the butter chicken and wow -- it was incredible. The quality, spice, and flavour were off the charts. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with flavour, easily the best we've had around here. The butter naans, cheese naans and garlic naans were the perfect sides -- soft, warm, and just the right amount of indulgent. And the presentation speaks for itself in the pictures. The food quality is nothing short of exceptional--each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented with an artistic flair. Every dish is a testament to the chef's mastery and passion for Indian cuisine. One bite of the Amritsari Cod Pakora and you'll be hooked! You won't be able to stop eating them! When the mocktails (Lycheenis, Blue Caribbean, Pineapple Mango Margarita) are looking this good, you know they taste even better. The Berry-licious Gajrela was the best fix for my sweet tooth! Every dish was expertly prepared, and the flavours were spot on. The entire team works together seamlessly to create an unforgettable atmosphere. This place is the epitome of customer service. The seamless teamwork between them, coupled with impeccable professionalism, added a personal touch to our visit. What truly sets Clove apart is its unwavering commitment to providing impeccable service. The service is outstanding; the staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, ensuring that every detail is perfect and that you feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout your meal. Textures, flavours, spice, presentation - it was all outstanding. We honestly wanted to order every item on the menu...that's how great everything tasted. There's so much love in every dish and you can taste it immediately. I cannot speak highly enough of the service, especially Simran. The only thing better than the delicious food and the beautiful ambience, is the lovely staff that treats everyone like family. Highly recommend if you're craving Indian comfort food done right. I can go on raving about this place but I suggest you find out on your own. So come here for the real deal!

A general rule I have is never go to a restaurant that has no one eating in it and when we came here we thought it might be closed because there were so few people only two tables occupied. Despite the place being empty the surly older women who greeted us made us do go to the front desk and do a reservation. We had two mocktails that were huge but bland (a complaint also made by another table), a appitizer that was pretty but rather than bland and that despite being cold and there literally be no other tables at that point it took 25 minutes to get and then we were served after almost an hour two of the most over salted dishes I have ever been served in a restaurant. I don't know if the cook didn't taste the dish or there is something deeply wrong with their palate but after a few bites neither of us could continue to it. We told both our younger server and the surly women that it was inedible and the surly woman just laughed which was nuts and the younger woman offered to have them "fix" it which I don't know how you fix an OVER SALTED dish with remaking it completely. While we aren't Indian, I have lived in Indian and have been adopted by aunties and ammas from both the north and the south and there is no way my Keralian dish nor my spouse's Punjabi dish should have tasted the way it did. Even after sending both dishes back barely eaten they still tried to make us pay for them only giving us 15 percent off a meal where again we could not eat our entrees. To top it off half way through our meal the surly women decided to spray airfresher right behind us which felt extremely rude and smelled disgusting. The other server claimed they had a "water leak" from the roof and the sole other table complained of a smell. I have no idea what these people's issue is but you can't have food that bad and be that rude even if you are in the heart of a large Indian population that will support you no matter how bad you are.

It is beautifully appointed It has nice high ceilings but there is still a warm welcoming feel. It's the staff. They are all so welcoming and treat you like they are genuinely happy to serve you. They have music playing but it is subtle, adds nicely to the ambiance and is not too loud. The food was very good. We got there before happy hour so we were able to order a couple of glasses of decent house wines for $6.00 a glass and shared an appetizer of crispy chicken lettuce bites. For entrees my husband had an 8 oz. prime rib special. It was so good. cooked as he had requested it. One of the better prime ribs that we've tasted and it was only $30.00 as a Sunday special. I had the lamb loin that was also very good. Service was also very good. Our server, Stella was so busy but she checked on us regularly to ensure that we were well taken care of. It is so nice when you go to a restaurant and it exceeds your expectations. This has the vibe of a fine dining restaurant with the décor, the muted background music, the service and the food. The prices are very reasonable for what they offer. We highly recommend and we'll be back.

I didn't actually realize how close it was via transit as it is right at the Surrey Central building where the Surrey SFU campus is. I believe it is the old pub/liquor store that used to be there. It is very beautifully decorated inside for the holiday season and spacious. It looks like it could honestly be nice for corporate events or semi private gatherings like a birthday/retirement or just regular date night. Our server was very nice so no qualms there. The only thing that threw me off was that our table was seated next to a bit of a gap by a booth and servers kept going through that area "as a short cut", which was a little tight on my end instead of them going around our table. that being said it was relatively empty when we came in, so I was kind of hoping that we didn't have to sit so close to other guests when there were available tables elsewhere. We caught happy hour which was nice and I would recommend their prime rib slider. The lettuce chicken wraps were good but nothing to venture out solely for. We had asked if they could substitute tofu instead of the chicken but we weren't able to make any adjustments to the dish. Our waiter did mention that there is a prime rib special on Sundays and that sounds really good. He also recommended to call ahead and reserve as it can often be sold out the day of. The truffle Parmesan fries were great, we got the cheese on the side as my friend is vegan. She had a crispy tofu bowl and said it was good. I'd like to come back for their prime rib special with my family. Pay parking lot is right across from the restaurant by the skytrain. too bad the restaurant doesn't validate parking.

There was a nice feel to the room as it was not too loud. A great ambiance. We were given our choice of a couple of tables when we arrived. The service was okay. For appetizers my husband had the goulash soup and I had Hunter Spatzle. My husband said his soup was not as flavourful as he was expecting. My spatzle was supposed to have a mushroom gravy on it but there was not much gravy and the spatzle was not well drained. For entrees my husband had zigeuner schnitzel and I had the sole with baby shrimp and Riesling sauce. The schnitzel is very thin as opposed to the thicker cuts that are served at most Bavarian restaurants that we have gone to. It was very tender but my husband was disappointed with his meal as he prefers the thicker piece of pork. The sauce was just all tomatoes and he said it was very bland and not very interesting. My sole was good but not exceptional. We were going to have dessert but by the time our server came to ask if we wanted dessert we had lost interest. It is a beautiful room, the prices are average but overall we found the food was not to our liking. The ladies washroom was out of toilet paper. Awkward.

Went on their website and made a reservation for the 10 of us. One part of the website process is to enter your email address. While out golfing today I called them to just touch base about my reservations. On the phone they told me they don't take reservations. I said wait on your website it states no reservations between 11:00am and 6:00 pm. Me reservations was for a round table in the main room at 6:00. I was assured not to worry. So left our golf game early as I was a bit worried as I had organized the event. No tables ended up sitting in the back room. A table in the main room comes open I sit down, the next thing I know. Guy sits down followed by another four guys who tell me it's their table because the waitress was saving it for them. The waitress Kara comes over as I'm being harassed and tells me I need to leave the table as Martine was saving the table for them. The waitress says I need to leave. After over twenty years of coming to this establishment, in front of a group of men who are harassing me this is how I Am treated. I go back to the table I try to talk to Kara (after how horrible I was treated at this other table) she says we don't take reservations - I try to show her that they do according to her website) she states I don't have glasses and I don't need to have you talk to me like that. She states Martine was saving that table for those people. So there you go after years of being a patron to Kennedy's Pub it's ok to a) have people bully a patron but makes one wonder if they pick and choose which customers are closer to the server. Shameful. Lost a bunch of long time customers. And it is never ok to have your male customers bully a female.
