I was previously a client at a different medical spa and had mixed results with my Juvederm lip injections, so I decided to try Wayzata Plastic Surgery since Kristie has a lot more experience with fillers. WOW I made the right choice! She leaves the numbing cream on for about 20 minutes and because of this I didn't feel a thing! The first poke I couldn't even tell if she'd started yet! Huge difference from the last place I went to where they only left it on for a minute or two... Ouch! But the real surprise was her technique; the woman gets it! I don't have lumps and bumps like I used to, and she didn't place it too close to the surface of my lip, so I didn't have any discoloration this time. She is so careful and has a great eye for detail, for example she noticed one side of my lip was slightly more round than the other so she added another tiny drop to even them out. I was warned of the post treatment burning sensation and of the possibility of inflammation. Those both happened to a degree which I don't feel I was warned about. On day 6, I developed what I thought was a rash/infection by my mouth. I contacted my doctor since it was a Sunday, and was advised to be seen in person. Turned out that I had gotten shingles (I have been vaccinated)! I was prescribed an Antiviral as well as some ointment. I had also sent an email to Belladerm. They did contact me on Monday and offered to call in a prescription for an Antiviral. I feel like some sort of partial refund for the issue would have been an appropriate gesture. I will say that my skin tone from the treatment is a little better, but not TWO THOUSAND dollars better (plus the cost of the doctors visit and prescriptions). It was not money well spent. I did learn my lesson.

I went in for tickle lipo and bodytite on 9/11/2025. Dr. Leslie and her staff are very nice, and I initially felt very confident in my decision to go with Sapphire. One thing I did not realize is that Dr. Smith is a board certified surgeon, but not a board certified plastic surgeon. After my first procedure, I realized the 5 incisions I had were quite large and red (quarter sized), and I think Dr. Smith noticed too as she asked the nurse to write down that I would need scar tape in the future. I went home to begin healing, except I never really did. The incisions stayed open. I emailed and texted Dr. Smith who continued to give me antibiotics for the incisions, which resulted in me at the ER getting tested for C. Diff after the 3rd round of antibiotics caused me severe stomach distress. Each month I would email or text asking about why my incisions were not closing, and was told a few different things each time. First it was I was a poor healer, then it was because I must have red hair genes in my family causing sensitive skin, and then it was that the scars were keloids. I went in several times over the first year to be seen, and even once for morpheus just at the end of April. Each time she saw the open incisions and I was told they would heal with time. I have my entire text chain with Dr. Smith over the last year, including the photos I sent in of my open incisions on multiple occasions. Upon my count, I reached out 10-15 times in regard to these open sores. After 8 months, the incisions were still open, and I realized that the lipo result was not great either, as very little fat was taken. I was told I needed to wait 7-8 months to see my final result. I went and saw Dr. Smith again and we decided to try a revision. I had my lower stomach done again around the belly button and then the sides and under the armpit area. This time no bodytite and my incisions were tiny and healed in less than 10 days with zero issue. However, this time I did notice I had a large dented line running from my belly button downwards. I was hopeful as I healed that this would go away, but it just became more visible as the swelling went down. I waited the 2 months I was told to wait after my second "revision" lipo procedure, and then I went to another plastic surgeon to get a second opinion. I was told the open incisions I have from the first procedure are thermal burns that will not close because the tissue is damaged. I sort of figured this as they are about the size of nickels and still scabbing daily. The doctor suggested scar revision, and also stated I would need fat grafting to fill in the large dent/line that was caused during the revision. I was quoted 4k or so to have another procedure to correct the issues I received at Sapphire. I reached out to Dr. Smith and the team very nicely and asked if I could be refunded just the price of the bodytite as this is what caused the issues. I thought this was extremely fair all things considered. I enclosed the exact photos I am uploading with this review. I didn't even ask for financial assistance for the dent I would need filled. Dr. Smith replied stating I would need to come in yet again as she was "confused" as to why I would need fat grafting and offered to microneedle my open incisions, which we know you cannot microneedle over open wounds. She stated there were more options she could offer, but at this point, would you trust her to work on you again after TWO procedures, a combined 12 hours on the operating table, countless texts, and 5 office visits? Each time I get something done to correct, I end up with something new. This entire year I have been very friendly and tried to trust the process. I showed up to every appointment and followed every instruction to the letter. I have been doing wound care daily since 9/11/2025. I can't take my shirt off anywhere as I am so embarrassed having these large, red sores that look like bullet wounds on my stomach. I am so disappointed and saddened at how Dr. Smith reacted when I simply asked to be refunded for a small portion of what I paid in, and was essentially gaslit in her reply that she was "confused", despite a year long text chain I have saved showing me expressing concerns about these open wounds. I would not suggest anyone go to this place for anything at this point as Dr. Smith does not stand behind her work and if you do have any issues, good luck getting an honest reply or any accountability. I now have to go to a different place to get these issues fixed, on top of the 9k I already spent.

Gaslighting, Sexist, and Medically Contradictory. Do NOT come here…read more I came to Twin Cities Dermatology as a patient with a severe, documented skin condition (Prurigo Nodularis). What I found was a clinic that actively gaslit me, dismissed my documented symptoms, and attempted to rewrite my medical history to avoid taking responsibility. The Gaslighting: I presented with clear, hard nodules on my forehead and body. They initially documented my diagnosis correctly as "Prurigo Nodularis" and started me on a heavy-duty biologic (Dupixent) along with intralesional injections. However, after I raised concerns about my disability paperwork and asked for accommodations, they suddenly changed their tune. They began calling my condition "just eczema." You don't prescribe a powerful biologic like Dupixent for "just eczema." That is a contradiction. They are trying to downplay the severity of my condition to avoid liability. The Sexism: The clinic appears to be exclusively staffed by women, with only one male provider (who is gay). This is not a coincidence. They systematically dismiss straight, Black men as "difficult" or "argumentative" patients. They ignored my explicit request to exclude a specific provider from my sessions. I was not treated with respect or dignity; I was treated like an inconvenience. Refusal to Accommodate: Despite having documented medical records showing I have not been able to work due to the severity of my condition (sleep disruption, concentration issues, mood impacts), they refused to sign my (Disability) form. They claimed they couldn't assess my limitations, despite their own notes stating that my condition impacts my daily activities. Bottom Line: This clinic is not a place for healing. It is a place to be dismissed, gaslit, and under-treated. The doctor and staff will lie to protect themselves rather than help their patients. Do your research, bring your own documentation, and be prepared to fight for basic respect. I will never be returning here, and I hope you won't either.

I went back 7 days later to be seen again for a follow up to the cream and was charged for another office visit. When I called to find out why I was billed for the first visit (should have been preventative) and why was I charged full price for the follow up, I had to make repeated calls. When calling the main line, most of the time it goes to voicemail and they may or may not call you back. When I finally reached someone, they said they had to have billing call me back. After multiple follow up calls, I was told the first visit was diagnostic so can't be billed as preventative and the second visit required another exam so wasn't considered follow up. The exam was all of 2 seconds of the Dr seeing things were worse and gave me a shot to minimize symptoms. They said I was examed again and it had to be billed as such and not a follow up. I will not be going back not only because I feel like I was unfairly charged but also because trying to get anyone on the phone was extremely difficult. I will stick with park Nicollet.
