Sante was great! For $85 you get 90 minutes and they will go as hard or soft as you want. Just a really great massage for under $1 per hour. Cannot beat it. I've never once run into any scheduling issues or any time they didn't have availability. They just know what they're doing, you get a great massage, then you leave. Thought I would go for a nice relaxing massage, but the universe had a different idea. As I lay down, and dove into a blissful state, all of a sudden the mall fire alarm went off. No one in the place moved but you could see people running in the mall to leave. My massage therapist could tell that I felt very uncomfortable and offered me the opportunity to return Or only charge me for 30 minutes. I was very impressed with her professionalism not only with her technique but also for being a human being before business. This is hardcore! It's not your gentle touch-type place. You need some healing? You come here. They roll up their sleeves and get to work, ya hear?! Wouldn't go anywhere else. It is a great deal at $55 per hour. Please tip kindly, they put their back into it to make you feel brand new! I go to my special person. I am so glad I found this place. I have a high stress job, a family and I travel for work a lot. I don't have time for making/breaking appointments, paperwork, memberships or searching for "the one". I've gone without a massage for the past decade and these past few weeks of my life have been especially horrendous. Every part of my body has been achy, especially my back, neck and feet, I've been exhausted and just can't seem to recover. I was looking up places for massage and this was the only place that seemed simple, in and out, that I could stop by during the day. They exceeded my expectations. I walked in, asked for 60 minutes and they directed me to a table and got to work. I swear, the delicate lady working on me had more strength in her fingers than I have in my whole arm. I didn't have to tell her where to focus, she found all the knots in my neck, shoulders and back and worked them all out. There were some very painful moments, but so worth it, the pain that I have been living with for months is totally gone. She also did some light work on my face, which was very relaxing, worked on my feet- heavenly, and my butt, which I found felt SO good- which makes sense, the gluteus maximus is a pretty big muscle. Prices here are as good as it gets, $55 for 60 minutes. I left a $20 tip, that's how good my experience was. I did not miss having to strip down and sweat on a vinyl table (am I the only one this happens to?), so the clothes on factor actually ended up appealing to me and I don't feel it detracted from the experience at all. If you want to make an appointment a week out to have Amber provide you a thick terry cloth robe, organic green tea and a sweet, gentle exfoliating massage, don't go here. But if your back seizes up at work, if you can feel your shoulders getting more tense by the minute, you are without a partner to help you with your situation and you need a massage NOW.....oh, baby, yes. This massage isn't for sissies. They lay you down on the Walmart towels, fully dressed, the FSK Mall just on the other side of the shoji screens. There's relaxing music and a litttle fountain for white noise. The nice lady gets up on a stool so she can get a better angle when digging her elbow into the little muscles between your spine and shoulder blade. A couple times it was..... aaalllmmooosstt.... too much pressure but I never said "uncle". The 20 minute massage got me major back and shoulder action, a little butt-squeezing, a neck rub and some finger-pulling. This is a total wellness-bargain at $25 for 20 minutes (plus $10 tip because she totally deserved it) and I went from "aaarrgghh" to "aaahhh" in 45 minutes. I am so happy I found this joint. I had my doubts about going to a place in the mall to get a massage, but overall, it did the trick. After an 11 hour car ride my neck and shoulders were really sore and I always have low back issues. The place is pretty bare bones, opens right out onto the mall, so no naked massages here! Also, this is not your relaxing Swedish massage. This is very deep tissue work so be forewarned if you are a massage newbie. The staff, with the exception of one person, speak very little English so just gesture and point. I always saw this place in the mall and didn't think twice about it; I mean it's next to the swimming pool. Come on...but seriously this was the best massage I've ever gotten. This isn't some sissy la la type of massage, they will beat you into the table, and you will wonder what are you doing there but it will be worth it. I have visited many acupressure/massage studios and I consider Sante Fe to be the best. The rates are essentially a dollar per minute and no appointments are necessary. Not a spa like massage experience because you remain fully clothed and are in open room with several massage tables. The quality of massage greatly makes up for this and all of the practitioners will make you a believer in acupressure. This was one of the best massages I have ever had in Frederick, and I've had quite a few over the years(came to Frederick in 1981). I only wish they had private rooms to perform the message, but once their masseuses hands get on you, you are transported to a world of relaxation where you don't even think about the area around you.
