Thankfully, Adam is always there and I didn't need to make an appointment. I went to Chase later on the same day and got my document notarized. He was a pleasure to speak to and the process was very smooth.

I have had a pending "in review" application since last week and have heard nothing. I called yesterday as this is now urgent for me and yet, still nobody at Citizens seems to care. My phone calls end in "I'll send an email" "you'll hear back tomorrow" or even, "that is not a customer facing department" . How pathetic!!! I go to LinkedIn and see hundreds of Vice Presidents for Citizens bank and yet, they all must be in the same room just emailing each other about meetings to schedule and meetings to attend, while the customers take their money elsewhere. I can no longer go to a local branch because you've converted the convenient locations with off hours to virtual booths. Again, not technology tested nor tried, just simply rolled out to be cleaned up as you go along. Same to be said about opening business accounts online. If the technology doesn't work and is not 100% functional, put it back into beta and production. Currently, it's a complete failure. My pending application # is ae46067cca. I'm sorry to see the decline in service level and availability to consumers that Citizens bank has reached. The hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Sat 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM; and closed on Sunday. Like most businesses, Chase branches will be closed on federal holidays. I've frequented this Chase Bank branch location to use their ATMs or to speak to the teller many times since moving to Providence. There is usually always a security guard by the entrance. Recently, I came here because I needed foreign currency for a future international trip. I went to the teller and informed her of the amount I needed in JPY. The teller informed me of the current exchange rate and how much I would be charged. The bank exchange rate was close to the public exchange rate plus some fees. The teller informed me that the money will arrive in 1-2 days and they will give me a call. On the transaction summary receipt, it shows the foreign amount, exchange rate, US amount, and that foreign exchange rates include spreads paid to chase and our vendors and may vary from rates quoted publicly. The next day, I got a call that the money arrived and to bring ID to pick it up. It was a very simple and quick process.

Clearly she was too busy interacting with her coworker over in the cubicles behind me to take my transaction seriously. I found all of this pretty rude and tacky. A quick scan of my accounts on her screen would show that I hold three accounts with Bank of America in excellent standing with their institution. I expect to be treated with at least common courtesy when I engage with companies, especially when my money is integral to their business. The mortgage is one thing, but with checking and savings opportunities and incentives popping up with competitors daily, I am absolutely willing to leave Bank of America for better service.

Only problem is they took the extra deposit a day before paychecks were deposited, so they ended up overdrafting our account and then charging us a fee. We have weekly recurring bank transfers set up for a reason. I understand there may be a few days of lag-time, but to blatantly not make the transfers for 3 weeks, then take an extra one out to be "courteous", but cause us to overdraft and charge us it, seem so ridiculous. Bank appears to be extremely disorganized and mismanaged. If you are in Rhode Island, use Washington Trust or Pawtucket Credit Union instead. Way better.
