There's good news and bad news. The good news is that the branch and its staff, in Rumford, Rhode Island, are wonderful--pleasant, friendly, patient, and helpful. I couldn't ask for more! The bad news is that the telephone service at the national customer service phone number is abominable. I called earlier today (May 9, 2020) and was on hold for an hour and a half, and was finally connected to a rude woman who didn't wait for me to finish speaking before starting her next question, and finally sent me a secret telephone code to "verify my identity". We were disconnected when I tried to give her the code and she didn't even have the decency to call me back, even though I had just given her my phone number so that she could send me the code. I called back and have now been on hold for 36 minutes as I type this. TD Bank promises "legendary service" in their phone greeting, but in this case the legend is Dante's Inferno.
Update: On the second call I was on hold for an hour and ten minutes, but this time the agent was cordial and patient, and very apologetic for the long wait which was due to staffing problems because of coronavirus. Obviously it's the luck of the draw whether or not you get a friendly agent. read more
