This review is for the Citizen's Bank in Warren. It's centrally located in downtown Warren but…read morethat's the only positive thing I can say about it. They're understaffed and obviously hate their jobs. I was there a few Saturdays ago and the line was five people deep. They gave no apologies, never mentioned that someone would be helping them as soon as possible - nada. zilch. zero. They never said a peep as if the five people patiently waiting did not exist. When they did bring the first person in line up to the counter after about a 15 minute wait, the teller never even said hello, much less offer an apology for the wait! Citizens, you want my business and my money? Then become a better bank. I refuse to pay for this type of substandard customer service and your below average banking rates. I have now closed all of my accounts with Citizens. See, easy! One less person in your long customer lines!

Although I did most of my banking at the Warren branch, this is the branch where I opened my…read moreaccount in 2007, and I banked here on occasion. For six years I was a happy customer -- and a good customer, since I had only one small overdraft in all that time. But in 2013, Citizens Bank came out with a new, tough overdraft policy. First, they decided to refund fewer fees, and second, they now use accounting trickery to charge MORE fees. The trick is that they re-order withdrawals from largest to smallest in order to maximize the number of fees they charge. Here is how it works: Let's say that you have a balance of $80, and four checks come in to clear that are $5, $10, $25 and $60. If the checks come in smallest to largest, this is what happens: $5 check clears, new balance: $75 (no fee) $10 check clears, new balance: $65 (no fee) $25 check clears, new balance: $40 (no fee) $60 check clears, new balance: -$20 ($39 fee) If the checks come in largest to smallest, this is what happens: $60 check clears, new balance: $20 (no fee) $25 check clears, new balance: -$5 ($39 fee) $10 check clears, new balance: -$15 ($39 fee) $5 check clears, new balance: -$20 ($39 fee) That was what happened to me. An unexpected withdrawal came into my account, and they reordered the withdrawals to maximize the fees. I was aware of what was happening, and I tried to deposit money before the overdraft occurred; but they had closed early before a holiday (too early in my opinion) -- and after the holiday they agreed to refund just one of the three fees, though I never should have been charged more than one fee. I'm now banking at another bank. Also, if you are overdrawn, they charge a daily fee of $7 as long as your balance is below zero. Fees, fees, fees -- that's what Citizens Bank is all about. My advice is to give your business to a small bank or a credit union.

They should mention that they don't like you making a lot of transactions or they will close your account out. Asked the branch manager questions she always referred me to call compliance. Why have a bank manager if she doesn't know shit. Anyways y'all have been warned. K
