Decided to try this place on a Saturday morning around 9. They were not busy but had a few tables occupied. The food was ok, nothing spectacular as they burnt my toast. The iced tea was good but came in pint glasses which are very small for iced tea. They also had a group of three come in with their dog which was barking while they ate. They should have asked them to sit outside. They play Hispanic music on the tv for the ambiance. I probably will not go back

Excellent service and lots of breakfast and lunch options. Huevos rancheros was excellent and the hash browns were crispy!

6:40 AM and the lights are off, griddle cold. Some dude walking up to unlock doors as we pulled out of parking lot.

We ended up coming here multiple times during our vacation because it was just that good! Every…read moresingle meal was consistently delicious, and I especially appreciated that they had genuinely tasty plant-based options instead of just an afterthought or two. The staff was what really made this place stand out. On our last day, I accidentally miscommunicated my order and ended up with the wrong meal. It was completely my mistake, and I was so disappointed because I had my heart set on a specific waffle (you know when you've been looking forward to something all morning?). Even though it wasn't their fault, they were incredibly kind and gracious. They happily fixed it without making me feel bad, and their warmth completely turned my day around. It may seem like a small thing, but kindness like that sticks with you. They could have easily told me it was my mistake, but instead they chose generosity and excellent customer service. Between the amazing food, the fantastic plant-based options, and some of the kindest staff we've encountered, this became one of our favorite spots on our trip. We tried several different menu items over multiple visits, and every single one was excellent. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town!

I ordered an iced matcha latte with a lavender cold foam and I have to say, I was impressed by not only how good it tasted but the price! I think I paid around 6.50? Most shops will charge that drink for more than $8 so I would say, Goodland is priced reasonably. I got the breakfast burrito and that was good too. Pup friendly location too!

I was in town working an event and had some extra time to explore the Danish village. Since the…read morearea is known for its Danish bakeries, I couldn't leave without bringing home some cookies. I still remember buying butter cookies at the Copenhagen airport, and I've been craving that same style ever since, especially because there aren't many places near me in my area that sell them freshly made. I randomly came across Danish Village Bakery and found a tub of assorted cookies for around $20. The lady working inside helped me right away and answered my questions about which items were the most popular and whether the cookies were freshly made. She was friendly and made the visit quick and easy. You can buy Danish cookies at regular grocery stores, but these tasted completely different. They were softer, fresher, and had that rich, buttery flavor that packaged cookies are usually missing. They were even better than the airport cookies I remembered! The bakery itself had a cute, homey, old-fashioned atmosphere, and there was plenty of free parking nearby. I'm really glad I stopped in because the cookies ended up being one of my favorite treats from the trip. I would definitely return for another tub the next time I'm in town.

BONJOUR, DARLINGS!…read more It is I, Mozzarella! International pink poodle, professional service dog, and apparently an UNWELCOME GUEST! Mama and I visited Olsen's Danish Village Bakery in Solvang, where a woman behind the counter rudely told us to LEAVE! MON DIEU! Darling, I'm a TRAINED SERVICE DOG, not a raccoon attempting to rob your pastry counter! I wasn't there to sample the Danish. I WAS WORKING! Thankfully, every other establishment we visited in Solvang welcomed us with kindness and hospitality. As for Olsen's, the pastries looked tired, the selection was disappointing, and the customer service desperately needed obedience training. ONE STAR. I'd give zero paws, but Yelp insists. BISOUS! I've been to Cayucos several times, but this was my first time trying the food at this restaurant…read more After checking out their website, I learned that they are known for their gluten-free dishes, organic ingredients, and specialty bioregional blue corn waffles. I was excited to finally give them a try. The restaurant was such a cute spot, beautifully decorated, with the cutest items for sale. The menu offered a variety of options, including waffles, tacos, bowls, and smoothies. We arrived before they opened, so we went for a walk to kill some time. When we circled back, the line was about 20 people deep! Thankfully, it moved quickly, and there was plenty of seating both inside and on their back patio overlooking the beach. You place your order at the window, and the food is brought right to your table. I ordered the Classic Waffles, served with grass-fed butter, maple syrup, and powdered sugar. I also ordered the Plaskett Pork Taco, which featured scrambled eggs, Niman Ranch bacon ends, avocado, Hidden Kitchen sauce, and green salsa. Everything was delicious! The food was fresh and made to order. The waffles were a different color than your typical waffles because of the blue corn, but the flavor was spot-on. The Plaskett Pork Taco was served open-faced, with scrambled eggs on the bottom and all that delicious bacon, avocado, and sauce piled on top. Even the tortilla was made with blue corn as well. My friend ordered the Gorda Green Smoothie for us to share, and it was so refreshing and delicious. The serving was generous and definitely big enough to share. The glass was practically overflowing with goodness. The entire meal tasted fresh and clean. I didn't leave feeling weighed down by greasy or heavily processed food. I really appreciate the thought that goes into their ingredients, menu, and overall approach to serving organic, gluten-free options. The attention to detail was impressive, too. From the table numbers featuring a little quote on the bottom to the variety of salsas available to put on the side, every little touch added to the experience. They also have a self-serve water and coffee station, which is a nice bonus. Between the delicious blue corn waffles, flavorful taco, refreshing smoothie, and charming atmosphere, I'll be looking forward to coming back and trying more of their menu items.

Made on homemade blue corn tortilla, it was light years ahead of the waffle. I recommend the Plaskett Pork as it has the most variety - Great selection of drinks for both coffee and non-coffee drinkers. There's a few morning cocktails as well (mimosa and bloody mary) - Great environment as it is by the ocean with a beach view. Really gets to the heart of what Cayucos is all about! Cons: - Open seating, so you could be in trouble if you can't find a table as there is no wait staff and only bus boys. - Not great for big groups as there is limited seating areas and they seem to run out of utensils at times - A bit on the pricer side given the lack of variety (if you don't like waffles or tacos then you will need to find a new place)! Overall, I would highly recommend HK to anyone who is passing through or staying in town. Great views and fantastic tacos made it worth while!
